IVF in Feb/March 2020?

Hello! I'm just wondering whether there are others starting their IVF journey in Feb/March 2020.

I am dealing with secondary infertility (male factor) and we have been TTC#2 for 16 months. We conceived naturally by some miracle back in July, but sadly had an early miscarriage (my third in total). We're now waiting to start ICSI IVF in early February.

Would love to hear from others doing the same. x

I've been putting off peeing on the stick because even though I didn't feel pregnant other than being tired (but am also in first week of new job), I didn't want to give up hope.

Now for the first time in my life and after more than six years trying I got a BFP!

I don't feel much though. I've spent the whole time not wanting to get my hopes up and not get attached that I'm somewhat drawing a blank here.

For those worried about one side doing all the work, that's normal because they alternate anyway so one side might but further along with follicles anyway and the other catches up due to stims.

In my case, the left one which is 3/4 of an ovary- having had a cyst removed- was bearing the brunt of it.

The right did produce some but the left was a champ.

Triplet 3 reporting! Last meriofert done last night and last fyremadel this morning I think. Clinic calling today with trigger instructions and for collection on Monday. Home straight now! Skin getting tight so last couple of injections a bit of a challenge!

I waited for a call back all day yesterday, finally gave in to the anxiety and rang them once it got to 6pm! Oestrogen has doubled in two days and they are worried about me getting OHSS, despite the lazy left ovary, so had to discuss with the big boss. Plan was to have no injection last night and another scan and blood test today. Ill probably trigger tonight for egg collection monday, but if my oestrogen is too high they cant do it 😬

I can't bear the thought of it getting cancelled now. Will I even still be allowed to be one of the triplets?! Thanks for the positive thoughts @luby89k, its amazing to think that there are ladies across the county rooting for us all!

You'll still be a triplet @CarbsAndCheese! Hope the scan goes ok and they can make a plan for you. Fingers crossed changing meds does the trick.

@CarbsAndCheese Those eggies need to come out so you will have the surgery soon no matter what, right?

But they might make you wait a bit to get an embryo back in.

Or am I not understanding what happens with high estrogen?

Thanks @PickleKid - won't miss that one at all - not much room left now either. I started singing out the stings after the f injection each morning! DH thinks I'm mad and says if this works he is getting ear plugs for the next big occasion if I threaten to sing!

I'm waiting for my scan now 😬🤞🏻(got here early-Saturday traffic and all).

@CarbsAndCheese you will always be a triplet. As @PickleKid says my understanding is that they still retrieve the eggs but may freeze in OHSS. I could be wrong though. It would seem a shame to let all those eggs go to waste. Good luck for today's scan x

Fingers crossed for you @SpyroC - either way not long now! Had to really trust their decision when they decided to stim me for 2 extra days having said I was ready on day 8. Sure they will make the best decision for you to give you the best chance.

@granddesigns asif you can trigger this evening. How exciting. Hopefully this will be me next week! If all goes to plan with me i will be stimming for 10 days too. I'm just a full week behind u.

My bloods are progressing textbook they've said so still 3amps which in relived about x

They've decided to keep me stimming until at least Monday. For ec Weds/Thurs. I currently have 6 good follies but there are a couple that they think might catch up. This is fine by me as obviously they know best. Bit gutted I have to endure more menopur though! I'm also a bit anxious about the corona virus situation but I think I need to put that in a box and not think about it (easier said than done).

How did you get on @CarbsAndCheese ?

@SpyroC did they mention anything about the virus? Or did you not say anything.

I’m new to posting on these kind of forums, although I have read through lots of posts for information and tips! I feel like now is the time to join in the chat!! Im 38, ttc for about 2.5 years, 1st fresh cycle failed dec 2019, transferring two frozen embryos on Tuesday 😬

Hi Spyroc, I bet you get more. I was 8, maybe 10, then and ended up with 18 at EC. A lot happens in the final few days and big numbers aside, it's really the strong ones that matter. Don't worry! Did they show you a line they had to get over? Was there a pack midway like during a race?

@luby89k no nothing was mentioned. They asked me about travel yesterday and that was it. I asked yesterday and she said they're just following government advice so businesses as usual for now. As if we need the extra worry!

No line @PickleKid . It's weird I go in to a bit of a daze when I'm being scanned-I've had a few bad ones in the past so I think it's caused by anxiety. DH was clocking the numbers though. There was 2 strong front runners, 4 on track and 2 not quite there. They are aiming for 8 but there is a risk of losing the 2 big ones. It would be nice to have a growth spurt but I'll be happy with the 6 if not as I wasn't expecting many.

One thing that I like to look for at a scan is this giant green button on the machine that says penetration. I think it must mean the view, but when I'm there it always makes me smile. It's obscenely large and clearly designed by a man.

Next time if you see it, think of your forum friends having a laugh and cheering you on!

She said she was basically told on the day (!) they were putting in two and freezing one- they just went with it. And one has stuck.

Thanks to everyone who asked about me earlier. Another stressful day for me. Had a scan and blood test this morning and was given the details and plan for egg collection on monday. I just had to wait for a phone call about the bloods to confirm the plan.

Come 5pm the big boss himself called me and wants me to carry on for longer at a lower dose to try to get the smaller eggs to grow!

Waiting all day listening out for my phone ringing and the uncertainty of it all is really starting to get to me.

Sounds like we might be having a similar time, both being moved back to wednesday @SpyroC?
