IVF in Feb/March 2020?

Hello! I'm just wondering whether there are others starting their IVF journey in Feb/March 2020.

I am dealing with secondary infertility (male factor) and we have been TTC#2 for 16 months. We conceived naturally by some miracle back in July, but sadly had an early miscarriage (my third in total). We're now waiting to start ICSI IVF in early February.

Would love to hear from others doing the same. x

Welcome KazzyFroggy and good luck!

That's interesting SpyroC feeling positive about my 300iu daily dose in that case :-)

Yes 41trying the emotional side IVF meds isn't great but payoff worth it. Hope you get to stim soon.

I'm just stressing I won't have my meds in time as Asda having stick issues and I'm due to start stimming in like 1 week yikes!

KazzyFroggy · 01/03/2020 22:48

@ChatWithMe @SpyroC thanks for the welcome!

Quick question: what does DR stand for?

SpyroC · 01/03/2020 22:48

@Robson13 mine came just 1 day later than natural. I was actually worried that it wasn't working for this reason. I did a bit of research and it seems everyone is different and that later is normal too. I'm sure it's fine but if your clinic said it should've come by now it might be worth giving them a call to see what they say. Mine didn't say when I would bleed but to call if I hadn't started to bleed by my scan which is day 18 of DR

There seems to be a lot of stock issues. I'm sure it'll arrive for you in the next few days @ChatWithMe x

SpyroC · 01/03/2020 22:50

Sorry @KazzyFroggy DR is down regulation. The first stage of long protocol IVF/ICSI

41trying · 01/03/2020 23:06

@Robson13, AF arrived late for me this cycle and last while DR with buseeilin. A few days is normal.

Hatawa83 · 02/03/2020 06:43

How is everyone today? I’m going a bit nuts in the wait period. Testing Wednesday and trying to keep myself busy until then! Anyone else testing this week? Hope you are all ok where ever you are in the process x

Youngatheart00 · 02/03/2020 10:04

Nervous wait to see if any of my embryos have made it to day 3. Wish the clinic would have called by now Sad

Hatawa83 · 02/03/2020 10:10

@youngatheart00 can you call them? You are the customer! Fingers crossed. Sadly I think it’s over for me as I started spotting. Oh well...

Youngatheart00 · 02/03/2020 10:13

@hatawa83 I think if it gets past 11 I will do so. On sat morn they called at 8:45 so it feels like bad news.

Frustrating about your spotting....sit tight though, I have heard of people spotting and going on to get a positive result. Are you at a clinic which offers progesterone testing?

Hatawa83 · 02/03/2020 10:20

@youngatheart00 yes but going to see how the spotting goes over the next hours as don’t want to fork out more money on tests if it’s over. The spotting is brown but let’s see... my past experiences tell me that it doesn’t end well for me. Let’s see :( hope you get good news. Sometimes they just have too many people to call. Crossing everything!!!

Youngatheart00 · 02/03/2020 10:27

Not good news for me either. One has arrested, other 3 are dividing slowly and only 1 is good quality. Feels like the same story as our last cycle. I hate IVF!!

confused107 · 02/03/2020 10:37

I'm sorry @Hatawa83, but it's not over yet. Fingers crossed that it's still a positive outcome

@Youngatheart00 I feel for you as I respond similarly to you. But it does only take one so you are still in with a really good chance

I've been on 450 menupor since last Wednesday and so far I feel no different. No side effects and I've been carrying on with life and exercise as normal. It makes me wonder if it's working (or if I'm mixing it right) but I guess I will find out more after my scan on Friday. How's everyone else doing on the drugs?

Feeling a bit stressed about the appointments and the whole thing in general as my DH has found a lump in his neck. Probably nothing but he has been given an urgent appointment with a consultant that may clash with egg transfer day. It all comes at once doesn't it and him getting sorted is the most important thing. Are you able to go to egg transfer by yourself and drive yourself home?

Hatawa83 · 02/03/2020 11:17

Aw @youngatheart00 I feel you. After 10 years, 6 transfers and 3 MCs I am at the end of my rope with it so I feel relieved that this was our last attempt. I just can’t put myself through any more on a psychological & emotional level. All you need is one though! And the others may just catch up. :)

@confused107 thanks Hun. Will update Wednesday and so sorry to hear that, hope it’s benign as they often are. Crossing everything for you but to answer your question, at my clinic they put you under a light general anaesthetic for EC so you are absolutely not allowed to drove home or for the next 48 hours technically (at least 24) and tbh you feel very dizzy so not safe at all. Speak to your clinic to find out what they do as I’m pretty sure some use different methods.

confused107 · 02/03/2020 11:35

Thanks @Hatawa83 he will be there for EC (he has to do his bit after all!) so he has put his appointment off until the week after next. But I'm worried that he will miss ET when it goes back in. I remember last time that it was just like a smear and I felt fine afterwards, but I didn't ask about driving etc as DH was with me. I'd like him there, but rather he get himself sorted and we have gone too far now to put the round on hold

Robson13 · 02/03/2020 12:24

@SpyroC and @41trying thanks for the reassurance. I'll wait it out for a few days.

ProudSingle · 02/03/2020 12:32

Hi ladies,

Do you mind if I join you?

Im hopefully starting my short protocol stims in just over a week 🤞🏼

I'm 36, AMH of 0.44, FSH 18.1 and AFC of 2 at last scan.

Hatawa83 · 02/03/2020 12:46

@confused107 sorry I confused ET with EC! Yes ET is fine! Been to a couple on my own as you can’t take kids and it’s very straightforward x

PineappleC · 02/03/2020 17:13

Just back from my ET. 5AA blastocyst on board and at least another FOUR embryos good enough to freeze. Delighted with that and was expecting maybe 2-3 at the most from my 8 embryos!

PineappleC · 02/03/2020 17:14

@hatawa83 I really hope your spotting is implantation 🤞

@youngatheart00 sorry to hear that but as others have said, it only takes one and there's still time yet 🤞🤞

@proudsingle welcome to the group 😊

luby89k · 02/03/2020 17:26

@PineappleC Congratulations that is amazing! Well done embryos

@Youngatheart00 hang in there. fingers crossed

@Hatawa83 positive thoughts. People do still get BFP xxx

luby89k · 02/03/2020 17:27

@PineappleC how was ET? all ok? x

takingthistooseriously · 02/03/2020 17:38

Sorry to hear people are having a hard time of it today. none of this is easy and it's so hard to deal with on top of everything else that life throws at you. Thanks

@PineappleC that's amazing news!

@ProudSingle welcome! I have my first appointment on Thursday but not sure when I'll start the drugs yet

ProudSingle · 02/03/2020 17:53

Thanks @PineappleC and congratulations on those embabies!

Thanks @takingthistooseriously it feels like it's taken forever to get here. Good luck for your appointment!

xx

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 02/03/2020 18:19

Sounds like good news and bad news today! Hope everyone doing ok no matter how their day has gone

SpyroC · 02/03/2020 20:13

Congratulations @PineappleC that's great! 😊

Sorry you're having a tough time @Hatawa83 and @Youngatheart00. I hope you have better news tomorrow. X
