IVF in Feb/March 2020?

Hello! I'm just wondering whether there are others starting their IVF journey in Feb/March 2020.

I am dealing with secondary infertility (male factor) and we have been TTC#2 for 16 months. We conceived naturally by some miracle back in July, but sadly had an early miscarriage (my third in total). We're now waiting to start ICSI IVF in early February.

Would love to hear from others doing the same. x

@ValidUser We were in two minds whether or not to postpone until March/April but in the end we decided to crack on as melatonin only needs 2 weeks to work it's magic and the Christmas eating cant of had too much of an impact on the 4 months of eating super healthy. Plus for all we know my eggs might be perfect 🤞🏻 (I just have a bad feeling) so it wasn't worth waiting in our case. It's a tough decision too make.

I'm envious of all of your exercise regimes. I don't do anything bar walking (weather permitting). I used to do a lot more and then I hurt my back, recovered and then laparoscopy. Now I don't think it's a good idea to up my exercise much.

Hi, so second scan this morning, 13 follicles in total, about 10 were more than 18mm, more of them in the left ovary which I am definitely aware of!
Just got the call and I am triggering tonight at 9:30, egg collection 8:30 Monday morning!! (They’ve told me I am first on the list, so I won’t even be waiting around too long!!)

I know i have been injecting myself for the last 11 days (and TTC for over 2 years) but it has all of a sudden become very real! Yikes!!

I’ve stopped doing HITT style classes at the gym as I don’t think jump squats and burpees are the best thing for growing follicles, but I’ve been just going in to the normal gym and doing bike, rower, squats, lunges etc, and I have a Labrador so long walks everyday! (Even in this weather, I’ve just come in from a very wet and cold walk!)

Youngatheart00 · 15/02/2020 16:34

@Embri that’s really great news! Good luck with your trigger - and celebrate it being your final injection Smile

ValidUser · 15/02/2020 16:34

@Embri exciting!

@ChatWithMe I'll keep you updated.

@SpyroC we'll see what happens to my exercise routines if I ever get pregnant!

ChatWithMe · 15/02/2020 17:29

Yay Embri - it's the final countdown! Wink Aw wish I had a labrador to take for walks lol Ongoing dispute with hubby on an issue that never gets decided. Anyhow enough about cute pets. This time next week you'll have your 5 day blastocyst embryo inside of you! (Unless you're doing FET next month) Pregnancy test will then be 11 days later on 4/3/20 :-)

Crumpets124 · 15/02/2020 17:37

@SpyroC I am the same as you. Hurt my back pretty awfully and never got back into exercise properly. I do Pilates now and walking.

That’s great @Embri good luck with trigger and EC. Sedation is the business! Nice little nap then it’s all over. Do get a otc laxative though (Ask your consultant for a safe one) as the bloating is a different level!!

@ValidUser We did DNA frag too. Do you also have male factor issues?

Woke up today with a horrendous cold/flu. Typical when starting stims next week. Hope it doesn’t impact on egg quality Hmm

natalie62663 · 15/02/2020 18:02

Do you all inject I take 5 progynova and 3 viginal lutigest and they are bloody horrible... The cm us next level!

Just interested in everyone elses meds?

Have some pretty fab mood swings at the moment.. Love that!

Is there anyone else in the 2ww?

Good luck for ec embri x

SpyroC · 15/02/2020 18:11

@Crumpets124 I used to love Pilates but even that's gone out the window 🙈 if I manage to get pregnant my pelvic floor will be useless!

@natalie62663 At the moment I'm just on synarel nasal spray for down reg. I think after transfer it's just cyclogest that is planned.

@Embri Great news x

natalie62663 · 15/02/2020 18:19

@SpyroC do you know what dose? X

Hatawa83 · 16/02/2020 08:05

How is everyone today? Feeling utterly crap on day 9 of stims and can’t wait for egg collection day!

SpyroC · 16/02/2020 09:15

@natalie62663 cyclogest? 1x400mg a day. Which,from what I've read, appears to be at the lower end of what clinics prescribe. What about you?

Sorry your feeling crap @Hatawa83 the weathers not helping us it. Hopefully not too long to go now. X

Hatawa83 · 16/02/2020 09:36

@SpyroC isn’t it miserable! Hopefully it should brighten up this afternoon. Are you on stims or on a long cycle? Like you I can’t do much exercise bar walking and a bit of light Pilates as injured my ankle years ago. Feel like I should be doing more but it’s tough when you feel like crap.

SpyroC · 16/02/2020 09:55

🤞🏻for this afternoon. I just started down reg on Friday and it's my first cycle. So far no side effects. I've read that if you suddenly start doing more intense exercise that it's not great for getting pregnant as your body is stressed as it gets used to it. Probably a load of crap but it puts me off re-starting properly. If this fails I might push myself to at least re-start Pilates and up my walking.

Those of you with experience of down reg, how far in did you have a bleed? It occurred to me this morning that I could get caught out.

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 16/02/2020 10:03

@SpyroC
My protocol is 400mg x3 per day which was upped from twice a day on my second transfer

natalie62663 · 16/02/2020 10:24

Morning all I am 1x 100mg three times daily which seems low to me x

ValidUser · 16/02/2020 11:42

@Hatawa83 good luck for EC!

@Crumpets you're in Ireland too, right? Think we talked a few weeks back. Our sperm is good but he has type 1 diabetes, so ICSI is a good idea - we just need to justify it.

41trying · 16/02/2020 12:15

Morning all, I hope everyone is doing ok. DR for me starts on Tuesday.
@SpyroC AF arrived on day 10 of DR for me, everyday I thought it was coming and it didnt, so this was just longer waiting. They do say it should come within 7 days if you are a 28dayer. I suppose everyone is different though, it's just another waiting game.
Last cycle after AF did arrive I went fir scan expecting to start Stims, and my lining wasnt quite thin enough, so that also put me back another week. Long protocol is long, but with added eating time wasnt nice.

Hatawa83 · 16/02/2020 13:31

@ValidUser thank you, though Friday still seems far away! Let’s see what the scan shows tomorrow.
@SpyroC I read that too so not pushing myself either but trying to be a little active when I can. X

Fingersforevercrossed · 16/02/2020 13:32

Currently in the middle of the 2 week wait - find out in Saturday. Panic and worry is starting to settle in!

This is my second official round - although we had 3 unsuccessful transfers from Round 1.

We had 3 embryos that made it to day 5 - 1 high quality and 2 that weren't dreadful but not good enough to freeze. I ended up having 2 embryos transfered.

I'm currently contemplating life with either 0 babies, 1 baby or 2 babies. Slowly losing my mind again!!

Hatawa83 · 16/02/2020 14:15

@Fingersforevercrossed keep hope! The 2ww is so tough to get through but it only takes one good embie to make it all worth it. Crossing everything for you!

natalie62663 · 16/02/2020 15:17

@Fingersforevercrossed that's the same as you the wait is killing me... Very tired today so here's hoping! Have you had any twinges or anything?

Good luck x

Fingersforevercrossed · 16/02/2020 15:31

I feel like I've had twinges but I'm also in pain from daily lubion injections so I think it's mostly that. I also had a very painful egg collection so my ovaries have felt tender ever since. Doesn't stop me over analysing every slight twinge though.

How are you doing @natalie62663?

natalie62663 · 16/02/2020 15:42

@Fingersforevercrossed I am analysing every single thing... I have had FET so no ovary pain thankfully but bloated tired sore boobs and constipated sign me up lol! I am not going to manage to wait until next Saturday I know that when was your transfer x

ValidUser · 16/02/2020 15:51

@Hatawa83 I misread EC day as EC today! 😂

Fingersforevercrossed · 16/02/2020 16:06

Transfer was Thursday @natalie62663

When will you test?? I'm so nervous of testing early. In my first transfer I tested 2 days early and and got 2 consecutive false positives. When I had my test in the clinic I got a reading of 8 so had a chemical pregnancy. That one was by far the toughest to get over.
