Hi, has anyone had fertility treatment here? What was their experience and success rates? Asking on behalf of a friend who is currently having treatment there for underlining gynaecology issues (fibroids/endometriosis) and she’s been referred here. She’ll be going down the route of donor sperm and possibly donor egg too because of her age (44).

Any feedback from people who have had treatment there would be great.

Thanks in advance.

@Jessica05 yes and Nana, she's lovely too. I see her mostly

Tillybabs · 20/09/2021 17:20

Hi ladies

I had my first scan today since starting Gonal F. I have 6-7 follicles in one ovary and 8 in the other. I go back on Thursday again to see how it's going

I had Dr G for the first time today. Omg he was great! He knew my notes and I had lots of questions about a condition I have and he was so helpful at answering them all. He said he would be looking at my uterus after egg collection

Golnoush · 20/09/2021 18:15

Success rates should be available from the clinic on online and you should ask for the success rates in the age group that's is relevant to you. I struggled with endometriosis for years and work with many woman with endometriosis undergoing IVF at ScreenMe. Best thing to do prior to having implantation is to crack down on nutrition and lifestyle to reduce inflammation as much as possible and put hormonal balance in an Optimum position to increase success rate. Best of luck.

@Tillybabs Glad everything going smooth for you…
Do you know if Dr G, do private consultation?

Orlane · 23/09/2021 20:22

Hi everyone
I have been waiting for my Laproscopy for a while...is anyone in the same situation?

Tillybabs · 23/09/2021 22:20

@Jessica05 I think he does do private but I'm only by what I've read in this thread.

G2021IVF · 25/09/2021 13:02

Hello,
@Orlane I'm still waiting for a laproscopy too with Dr G (although I'm a slightly complicated case).
How long have you been waiting for?

Orlane · 25/09/2021 13:56

I am with Dr Shubba
I have been waiting since February Sad
Now I have no more appointment… just waiting
I have been at the clinic for 2 years now ….
What about you?

G2021IVF · 25/09/2021 14:50

@Orlane
Oh gosh, fingers crossed you hear soon.
I've been on the waiting list since April. When I had my egg collection Nana chased and said they'd hope to get to me by October. However I've lost faith that it'll be anytime soon. I'm sure with Covid and people being off, other operations taking priority etc etc (plus I'm not a simple case) that this has been pushed out further and further.
I'm just so impatient and not having a date (even if the date was far away) just eats away at me.

Orlane · 25/09/2021 16:31

Yes I guess the COVID and holiday season didn’t help, but it can be very frustrating!
I just turned 35 and I hoped to have the eggs collection before … (Dr Shuba wanted me to be operating before the Laproscopy… you seem to have the other way round…)
Now I don’t even know if I can have the funding … and I started 2 years to avoid this situation!
Fingers crossed we will soon have a letter and be able to move on

Hi ladies

I'm due to have my EC tomorrow and I'm a bit confused by the paper I've got. It says after EC we have to transport it to the London women's clinic, but I thought that's where the EC is being done or at least that's what they said.

I can only assume this paper instruction is pre Covid when they changed the protocol.

Jessica05 · 01/10/2021 19:34

@Tillybabs where are you having your ec?

JeanieJ · 02/10/2021 07:38

@Orlane @G2021IVF
I've been waiting for my lap since July.
Dr G said it would be 3 months & I immediately didn't believe him 😞. We decided to try the lap before considering IVF.

@Orlane waiting since Feb sounds so tough.
I also feel really helpless and I don't know what to do 😞
Hope you get your appointment soon
x

G2021IVF · 02/10/2021 08:22

@Orlane have you tried seeing if you can have a follow up appt as it's been so long and discuss funding etc?
Dr G said I could go onto both waiting lists and have the IVF but they wouldn't transfer any embryos until I had the lap. So I've had the first part of IVF only (as the waiting list must have been short).
@Tillybabs I had my EC at LWC as Croydon didnt do it on Thursdays and the paperwork wasnt up to date either.
@JeanieJ I feel the same. I think Dr G was a little optimistic with his timescales as I thought I would have heard something by now

Tillybabs · 02/10/2021 08:35

Morning I'm at the lwc and it's being done here

Orlane · 02/10/2021 11:31

@G2021IVF my last appointment was in August, a phone call with Dr Shuba and she said "yes yes September. for Lap..." and once I have the Lap I will have to wait another 3 months before IVF...
I know it will happen but they must have a massive backlog because of Covid
Fingers crossed for all of us

Tillybabs · 05/10/2021 21:24

Hi ladies. So I've been told I'm going to have a hysterocopy and MRI. Has anyone had the hysterocopy and how long have you had to wait for it?

Redcobra · 16/10/2021 16:24

I’ve had a virtual appointment in April with Dr G and he seemed ok. Next appt is due in early Nov & he knows we’re going for IVF. He’d asked my partner to get a sperm analysis done before then so I’m hoping we can get started in that Nov appointment. Am I being too optimistic?!
I’m getting funding for the first round - fingers crossed it works. Also if EC is in LWC is that where implantation happens too?

PJ77 · 17/10/2021 16:31

@Tillybabs how are you? Any update on when you will get your hysteroscopy? X

PJ77 · 17/10/2021 16:35

Hi @Redcobra 👋 do you know what your Nov appointment is for? Have you done all the paperwork yet? We had our IVF paperwork appt last month and just waiting to hear when we can start now! Trying to stay relaxed and patient. It is hard and I do feel on edge and like I'm in limbo

Tillybabs · 17/10/2021 16:57

@Redcobra that's quite a large gap from your virtual appointment until November. Will this be your first appointment in person?

@PJ77 I haven't had a letter about my hysterocopy yet but I have my MRI early December

Redcobra · 17/10/2021 17:32

@Tillybabs I’ve just found out the Nov appt is virtual too. I had to wait for a cyst removal to be carried out which has been done now.

@PJ77 I have no idea what to expect that the Nov appt. it might be paperwork since I haven’t done any of that yet either.

I’m getting impatient and seriously considering going private just to speed things up. I lost nearly a year with all the delays to my procedure already. I just want to get started ASAP!

Tillybabs · 17/10/2021 18:10

@Redcobra ah ok did you have a laparoscopy?

I think the appointment will probably be to discuss your next steps. It's up to you but things will start to move quickly

I found things moved quite quickly but now I'm waiting for further investigations but I've had my eggs frozen which is what they wanted to do first.

Redcobra · 17/10/2021 18:39

@Tillybabs Yes I had a laparoscopy so I’m keen to get things moving. Thanks for the info - I in Italy wanted to freeze eggs too but we will probably freeze embryos instead.
Excited + anxious at the same time!

Redcobra · 17/10/2021 18:44

Is anyone taking any preconception multivits? I’ve been using Proceive Max Women for about 5 months now and although I feel healthy & my blood work came back good, I wonder if it will actually help. I also take omega 3 fatty acids and coenzyme q10; the latter was advised by Dr G in April.
