Hi, has anyone had fertility treatment here? What was their experience and success rates? Asking on behalf of a friend who is currently having treatment there for underlining gynaecology issues (fibroids/endometriosis) and she’s been referred here. She’ll be going down the route of donor sperm and possibly donor egg too because of her age (44).

Any feedback from people who have had treatment there would be great.

Thanks in advance.

@JeanieJ don't give up hope as can still happen.

So babe you not heard back yet? I guess things have slowed down a bit because of omicron?

I've not spoken to the clinic since October! NHS hysterocopy appointment is in June so lucky to get one private this month but that's still pending a negative Covid test 3 days before. So nothing is guaranteed at the moment. I hate Covid!

Tillybabs · 01/02/2022 14:27

@JeanieJ sorry I meant have not babe lol

JeanieJ · 01/02/2022 15:05

@Tillybabs no, I haven't heard from them, but don't expect to hear from them for a while.
She just said prepare for treatment in the next 18-20 weeks & gave me some basic dietary advice.
Omg, that's a long time to wait for the NHS! 😬 I went private for my lap & have no idea when I would have been offered the NHS one (I've heard nothing).
Do I remember correctly that you've done your EC & have something in the freezer?

Tillybabs · 01/02/2022 16:37

@JeanieJ yep we have 4 frozen so it's just a waiting game now to sort out my uterus and probably maybe downregulate after my hysterocopy before then even try a transfer

JeanieJ · 02/02/2022 13:21

@Tillybabs ah I see ☺️
Really hope the procedure goes well for you. How are you finding the clinic whilst waiting? Is it all quiet until you get sorted?

Tillybabs · 02/02/2022 13:34

@JeanieJ I haven't heard a thing from them. It's just a waiting game now.

Jessica05 · 03/02/2022 13:32

Hi all, I hope you are all well?

How you all doing? Has anyone done a transfer yet?

PJ77 · 04/02/2022 16:53

Hi all, hope everyone is well!
Well, I've come to the end of the two week wait (it was actually 12 days) and unfortunately I am not pregnant. Today is my official test date, but a couple of days ago I started getting brown discharge and quite crampy and I had a bad feeling it was my period trying to start, and my anxiety went through the roof of my knowing so I tested yesterday and it was negative. Tested again today and still negative.
I had a good cry yesterday, but feeling a bit better today. I called the clinic to let them know and I've got a phone call with Dr Shuba in a couple of weeks and hopefully we can go again..

Tillybabs · 04/02/2022 17:08

@Jessica05 nothing going on here at the moment what about you?

@PJ77 oh hun I'm so sorry to hear that. Was
this your first transfer?

PJ77 · 04/02/2022 17:15

@Tillybabs yeah that was my first transfer! I was so excited just to even get to that stage as I was worried I would have no embryos survive. We have one embryo spare from this round which is frozen although lower quality than the one we transferred. So will be looking to do a fresh round of stimulation and go through all that again!
It's these moments you just wonder am I ever going to see my own positive pregnancy test, those two lines. Agh. I've just joined Peanut as well for additional support.
I gave up booze completely for the last 4 months, but going to have a g&t tonight!

Tillybabs · 04/02/2022 17:27

@PJ77 oh yes I recently heard about peanut. I will look it up.

Oh hun I'm really sorry but don't lose faith because it can still happen. It is such a emotional rollercoaster though and I feel your pain. I don't want to think that far ahead yet

PJ77 · 04/02/2022 17:55

Thanks @Tillybabs and sorry for being such a downer. It's not quite our time yet I guess, and I know it'll happen at some point! Also I don't want to make others in the group feel pessimistic about IVF because I know quite a few friends and family who have succeeded with ivf, some with first round some with second xx

Tillybabs · 04/02/2022 18:01

@PJ77 you are not being a downer at all. This is what we are here for as we are all going through the same journeys. You definitely deserve that G&T so go for it x

JeanieJ · 04/02/2022 22:51

@PJ77 I'm really sorry to hear this 😞 All that anticipation & work - you definitely deserve a g&t - fingers crossed the next one goes ok, just take some time for yourself too Xx

Jessica05 · 05/02/2022 09:56

@Tillybabs hi, nothing going at the moment for me.

@PJ77 I’m really sorry, was it a fresh transfer?
Can I please check y you when with a fresh transfer rather than frozen?
Did you feel any pregnancy symptoms?

HannahSp · 07/02/2022 10:38

Hello everyone! I recently found this thread after being referred to Croydon Fertility Clinic. I'm currently awaiting a laproscopy due to possible endo diagnosis and have recently found out I've got low ovarian reserve. I've found this thread really useful in hearing about everyone's experiences and reassuring to hear I'm not alone in my journey.

It sounds like there is a long waiting time for laproscopies. Has anyone had one recently or had a date and are able to tell me roughly the waiting time? If anyone could also recommend where to get this privately and how much roughly this would cost I'd be very grateful!

JeanieJ · 07/02/2022 11:17

@HannahSp welcome 🙂
I was referred for a laprascopy last July (supposed to be a 3 month wait)
In December, I went private at Shirley BMI with my NHS consultant and it was about £5k 😣
I'm honestly not sure if I'm still on the waiting list for the lap, but even by December, I hadn't heard a peep from them.
They were able to treat my endo in the lap.

Tillybabs · 07/02/2022 11:44

@HannahSp welcome

I'm waiting on a hysterocopy since October and I chased it up in December only to find out I wasn't even on the waiting list. So definitely chase up with gynaecology to make sure you're on the list.

The waiting times are long unfortunately. My appointment is not until June but I'm going private and having mine this month because I can't wait that long.

Steph1994 · 23/02/2022 15:45

Hey everyone!

I am due to start IVF on my next cycle and have my injection teach on Friday. On my last appointment the nurse was going to order the medication and said the company (stork I think) would contact me directly within 2 weeks however I haven’t heard anything from them ☹️ How long did it take for you all to be contacted about your medication delivery after it was ordered please?

Thank you in advance 😊

PJ77 · 24/02/2022 16:00

Hi @Steph1994 that's very exciting! I think I heard from Stork the day before they delivered the medication and I had to fill in details about times that I would be at home to receive them x

PJ77 · 24/02/2022 16:03

Hey guys, I've just heard from croydon since my failed fresh transfer and the plan is for me to go for a frozen transfer in my next cycle. Waiting to hear from the nurses to be booked in for an appt to give consent etc.
Do any of you know what the FET time frames are and when in the cycle you start medication? Is it similar to fresh round where you start medication on day 2 of cycle?

Jessica05 · 24/02/2022 17:16

@PJ77 for FET as soon you get your period, give them a call. On day 2 of your cycle you will need to start on estrogen. Then dr Subha will monitor your the thickness of your lining. And transfer would be around day 15 to 20 of your cycle.

Are you transfer only one or two embryos?

PJ77 · 24/02/2022 17:25

Thank you @Jessica05! That's helpful. I should have asked on the call but I was so overwhelmed I forgot. Only got one frozen so just that one will go in :-)

Jessica05 · 24/02/2022 18:39

@PJ77 after the chemical pregnancy did you got a period?
They usually make you wait on the next period (normal period) then start.
Can I please ask what grade is the embryo (if personal, I do understand)

PJ77 · 24/02/2022 18:42

@Jessica05 I did get a period it was heavy and lasted 7 days!
I think I can start next cycle once I get my period again. No not at all, I think Dr Shubha said its 4bb and she said that is good! The last one transferred was 2bb
