Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time Smile

Thanks @LucyLucyT I'm just chilling post egg collection. I was provisionally told in theatre that they had gotten 10 eggs. Just waiting to hear from the embryologist if all 10 look good or not. 10 is so so many more than I was expecting so I'm happy! Probably slightly happy cause of the fentynl and midaz!

LucyLucyT · 06/11/2019 12:35

@Mseddy, that's so much better than you were expecting, so happy for you, fingers crossed for getting a good number fertilised. I can't remember if you are having ICSI?

Clinic have rung me, got my early scan booked in for Dec 2nd. I a trying to be positive but keep feeling so nervous like it's all going to go wrong at some point, silly really!

Mseddy · 06/11/2019 13:21

@LucyLucyT 2nd December isn't too long away. I've got everything crossed for a stick little bean. Yeah it's way more than I was expecting. Nice middle of the road number! Yeah we are having ICSI. They are going to ring tomorrow to see how many have fertilised.
How did everyone else get on?

fool11 · 06/11/2019 17:46

Hi, just got home, got 11eggs so really happy considering my age..they might be rubbish quality but at least there were some..will see tomorrow what the embryologist says..

Violet180 · 06/11/2019 19:21

I'm so angry right now. Angry, sad and disappointed
I just started spotting and can feel my period coming on.

41trying · 06/11/2019 20:07

They only collected one egg and they phoned later to say it was immature. Feeling very let down at the moment as we said this would be our last try.
Just wondered what clinics everyone used? As maybe after getting over the disappointment again, may think about trying another, really just dont know

Mseddy · 06/11/2019 20:26

@violet180 I'm really sorry to hear that your period is coming :( ive still got everything crossed for you.

@41trying I'm so so sorry to hear that :( I can't imagine how you must be feeling. Flowers we are at Seacroft in Leeds. You need to do what's best for you.

@fool11 congratulations on your 11. Fingers crossed they fertilise

fool11 · 06/11/2019 21:24

@violet180 really sorry to hear that..could it be just false period symptoms..I’m sure you know your body just hoping it will settle and be fine..

&41trying sorry to hear that..we are at Guys in London..there weren’t many clinics which actually do ivf for women my age, with own eggs, some told us their cut off age was 42 so I wasn’t very hopeful.

@mseddy fingers crossed for tomorrow

LucyLucyT · 06/11/2019 23:00

@Violet180 sorry to hear about your symptoms but it might not be what you think, I'm keeping everything crossed for you still xx

@41trying can understand you feeling gutted about today's outcome, must be very hard. My clinic is Sussex downs fertility centre, I have found it good, but I mainly went there because it's local as opposed to it being the best place if that makes sense. Give yourself a while to think about it maybe, but I know if you decide to continue you'll want to get going ASAP.

Good luck to @Mseddy and @fool11 for some good embryos tomorrow xx

Mseddy · 07/11/2019 09:42

Out of our 10 eggs, 8 where mature and 6 fertilised normally. So I'm still feeling positive :) they are planning a day 5 transfer on Monday. Them progesterone pesseries are the work of the devil though! I got up to go the loo in the night and it was everywhere!

LucyLucyT · 07/11/2019 11:03

@Mseddy thats great! Will they ring you on Saturday to give you an update?

I know some wouldn't want to but I take the progesterone as a suppository, it's a lot less messy! Hope you are feeling okay x

fool11 · 07/11/2019 11:05

Hi , just had a phone call from hospital, 10 fertilised, more than expected so really happy. Provisionally booked for sat but might be Monday ET.

@mseddy Do you find those pessaries make you bloated and gassy, TMI, sorry..

Hope you are all ok?

41trying · 07/11/2019 11:50

Just wondering if anyone can give some advice, as I'm finding it really hard at the moment. I know I am 41, but all bloods always came back ok. At baseline scan (day 5)it showed around 6 eggs on each side then by day 9 still there but one leading the way. Each time on EC they only collected one. In my mind I am thinking I should have gone for conventional IVF instead of mild, where they only collect one or 2 eggs.
Any advice would be appreciated

Mseddy · 07/11/2019 14:38

@41trying I don't really understand the difference between mild and conventional so I can't offer any advice. Maybe book an appointment with your fertility clinic and ask them what the suggest. If you feel like you want to give conventional a try, then I would contact them or you will always wonder what if.

@fool11 congrats that's loads! Yeah I have felt a bit more bloated and gassy today, I only started taking them last night.

@LucyLucyT that's my plan for tonight! I was trying it as a pessery first to see if it was messy. Tonight I'm going to try it as a suppository and see if it's less messy.

I think I've done too much today. I've been for lunch and a wonder round the shops and I'm exhausted!!

fool11 · 07/11/2019 15:12

@41trying our clinic only offers normal, conventional ivf, I remember someone asking about mild, light ivf during the open evening and doc said that they don’t do it. We visited some other clinics which offer both but went with the one which doesn’t, so no idea how the mild one works..41 is not old.. I was told during most meetings that my chances are close to zero, I’m 45 in few weeks and first time they told me I cried in front of doc, was horrible to be told I’m too old.. this is our only try and I’m being so far very lucky that it’s working..if you don’t have other underlying conditions etc and all bloods are good , go and speak to your consultant as Mseddy mentioned. My friends friend had a baby through ivf few months ago at 45 which gave us hope to try too...obviously do what’s the best for you , for your piece of mind x

I did take progesterone as a suppository too, less messy and not as bad as I thought..although makes u bloated .

fool11 · 07/11/2019 18:43

Peace not piece..sorry silly auto fill ..

Violet180 · 07/11/2019 21:10

ok. I called the nurses at my clinic Care London. They tried to reassure me that a lot of people bleed and some throughout their pregnancy. She booked me a blood test for the 11th and just told me to keep taking the cyclogest.

Feeling less angry but still not that hopeful, which is probably a good state to be to be honest. Stayed home from work today and googled 6day bleed stories like mad.

Dusky7 · 07/11/2019 22:24

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining, a bit late in the game too...

I am 7dp5dt FET and going crazy!! Really feel like it hasn't worked. Constantly comparing it to other cycles. I haven't had implantation bleed of any kind and I did with my DDs... have felt lightheaded a lot but know this can just be the meds.

Have been on another forum for 11 years and it has just closed down, feeling very lost without it.

Massive congratulations LucyLucyT! I had severe OHSS with DD1 and was in hospital for 2 weeks. Not pleasant at all but dr said that it actually supported my pregnancy :)

Wishing everyone lots of luck whatever stage they are at x

LucyLucyT · 08/11/2019 08:00

@fool11 great news your embryos, hope they are busy dividing for you! Hope you and @Mseddy are feeling okay after your ECs.
@41trying I'm really sorry I don't know much about what else is on offer, as I was getting NHS treatment I just went with the flow of being referred locally. Are there any forums on here that might discuss your questions more, or you could start a thread on it maybe? I'm sure you're still feeling upset about the outcome of the cycle you've just had but try to keep positive, like you say you are fit and well, the chances are still there for you.

@Violet180 glad you are at least feeling a bit reassured, hope are you today? When is your test date? Even though I've had a BFP I'm still always worrying it's not going to work out, going to do another test over the weekend, worrying that the line might have faded, but hopefully not.

@Dusky7 welcome to the thread, your OHSS signs quite a bit worse than mine! I'm still swollen but I think it might have eased a tiny bit. Good luck with your FET, when are you sure to test? It's not easy but try not to compare too much to previous cycles, I think they say every pregnancy is different so keep hopeful xx

@Mseddy how did you get on with the Cyclogest the "other way"!?

LucyLucyT · 08/11/2019 08:03

Sorry about all the autocorrect errors in there 🙈
hope=how
signs=sounds
sure=due

Dear oh dear!

Mseddy · 08/11/2019 09:24

@LucyLucyT it was much less messy! Just a strange feeling to start with. Think I'm going to stick to this way for the rest of it!

Violet180 · 08/11/2019 10:09

@LucyLucyT my OTD was on the 12th. But I now have a blood test scheduled for 11th.
Still cramping and bleeding. Blood is brown now. Just have to prepare myself for disappointment on Monday. I just have no positive signs or symptoms to make me believe otherwise.
Already talking about the next cycle with the husband. We have 3 frozen. One that was PGS tested with "no result", another that is grade 1-1 and one more that is borderline fair.
Just feel like we have to do back to back collections because I am only getting older. And I am too old now as it is. We have one last cycle on our insurance.

LucyLucyT · 08/11/2019 12:48

@Mseddy I know it feels a bit weird, but I've decided it's easier overall!

@Violet180 I'm keeping everything crossed for you, really hope it's just some old bleeding. I didn't get any symptoms until about a week in, and I think a lot of people get no symptoms and still get good results. I think it's only natural to prepare yourself for the worst though, I'm still doing it too. Take care of yourself xx

Bailey2017 · 08/11/2019 14:21

Hi I'm new to this thread and have read most of you are at a similar stage to me! I had egg collection Monday 4th November, collected 20, 17 of which fertilised, 15 showed signs of life... 6 good quality, 5 average quality and 5 poor quality have made it to day 3. The embryologist said the poor quality embryos probably won't make it. I go for my egg transfer tomorrow, might be having a double transfer. This is my 2nd ivf cycle my 1st cycle I had 1 fresh 1 frozen both BFN. So my consultant increased my meds this time hense more eggs collocated! I was at risk of OHSS but luckily I've been absolutely fine just swollen. Sorry for blabbering on!!

LucyLucyT · 08/11/2019 18:25

Hi @Bailey2017 sounds like your embryos have been quite successful this time round! Very best of luck for a sticky one or two for you tomorrow! Have you got any plans for dealing with the 2WW?
