Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time Smile

How are you doing @LucyLucyT? How is the little one? Does she still have a reflux or is it better?

LucyLucyT · 15/10/2020 18:26

Hey @fool11 was gonna message earlier but got caught up! She is doing okay thanks, was weighed again by HV this week as she wasn't gaining quite enough but it seems to have stabilised now.

Reflux still the same, getting used to it but it does make things more difficult in terms of taking her places etc, using bibs now which at least saves her clothes most of the time but sometimes she brings up loads....like this morning...twice 😩

Like your LO, she is jibbering away at us now which I love and holding onto things etc. She loves her play gym which is helpful. She still barely sleeps in the day which makes things difficult....I decided I wanted to do some gardening the other day so used her bath which sits her up to have her in while I got on...see pic 😁

She's sleeping quite well most nights she went 8 hours the other night, amazing, but most nights she goes down about 9-9:30 then we change and I feed her when we go to bed, often about midnight, then she tends to go 6-7 hours, change and feed, then sometimes she sleeps another couple of hours if we're very lucky.

I've been really keen to use reusable nappies and my sister passed on all of hers to us which was great as they can be expensive. Tried them today as felt she was too small until now, but they are so bulky, need bigger clothes for them! I'm going to use them but think I'll mainly just have her in them at home and use the disposable ones when out. I feel bad about it but I think it might be a pain to coordinate when out. I use cheeky wipes and that's going quite well.

She had her second lot of jabs this week, was grizzly on the day but okay since.

How are things going for you?

That was a bit of an essay!

fool11 · 16/10/2020 13:25

Oh bleed her, she looks nice and cozy in that bath tab..
Glad to hear she is well. We started to use bibs too as he is drooling like crazy..hope it’s not teeth yet!
He had his jabs on Monday, was a bit off for a few days but I think mainly his stomach was upset from that oral solution.
I’m so jealous , how do you get her to sleep for so long? I don’t know what I’m doing wrong..he only sleeps for 30min during the day , 3 naps, usually up from 5.40/6am, he has a bottle 6oz at 7pm, goes to sleep around 8.30-9pm but then wakes up between 12.00-1am , have to feed him and then again between 3-4am, and then he is up 5.30/6am..so pretty much wants to eat/is up every 3h. Well, could be worse so I guess u have to appreciate its only every 3h 😀. Looking forward to 4m sleep regression ..

fool11 · 16/10/2020 13:26

Bless her not bleed ..silly auto fill

fool11 · 16/10/2020 13:30

I use pampers if I’m honest, just no time for reusable ones..already doing the washing every day, sometimes twice a day, just cleaning clothes from poo accidents etc takes time..just can’t see myself using reusable..

LucyLucyT · 23/10/2020 11:39

@fool11 I'm sorry sleep is still not great for you! I don't do anything special as such but have fallen into a bit of a pattern with a dream feed essentially. So usually feed her around midnight when we go to bed. It doesn't always work out, last night she woke at 4:20 ish, and then I was up with her for about 1.5 hours as she was fully awake and wanting to play and talk! I ended up giving her another little feed and she eventually went to sleep until about 08:50.

I walked into our town centre for the first time with her the other day and have now switched to the stroller rather than the carry cot as she prefers sitting up I think. She didn't fall asleep for ages but did in the end. Annoyingly I ended up feeling quite unwell, dizzy, nauseous and really tired. I think it must've been low blood sugar or something as it was about 2:30pm and I hadn't had lunch, I suspect with the breastfeeding I need to make sure I eat a bit more regularly and take a snack! The walk home seemed to take forever and when I got home she was wide awake and needing feeding when all I wanted to do was collapse in bed.

Just been reading about the four month sleep regression, some of the info on the article I have read is going on about fixed routines etc. I'm not great with routines, will do my best but I think I'll find it difficult!

How are you doing this week?

fool11 · 23/10/2020 12:58

Hope are are feeling better. I Have a very low blood pressure and bf doesn’t help when I don’t eat properly. But sometimes there is just no time and I end up eating some junk, mainly a biscuit or chocolate ..I’ve already put on some weight which not happy about..must be all the icecream I’m eating like there is no tomorrow..
He has his midnight feed but only usually eat fir about 7-12 min from one breast and then 3h later he is up ms wants more..I really hope he will drop one of these feeds..and 5.30am on the dot every morning he wakes up coz of gas..actually he just kind of cries in his sleep lifting his legs and banging them..it’s horrible to watch but and when I take him he wakes up fully and cries and cries.then usually falls asleep on me, me holding him. It’s exhausting. I’ve been up since about midnight last night as after his midnight feed he woke up within hour crying, gas again so had to calm him down and then at 3am he wanted to eat again . We don’t really have a strict routine as I’ve tried really hard with my first, tried everything and it just didn’t work..so this time I’m not going to stress about it..
I realised yesterday that one year ago exactly we did our first jab for the ivf..what a journey.
I think he is teething, he is drooling like crazy, almost chocking on his own spit. Also licking everything. He keeps staring and kind of ‘ chewing’ when we are having dinner, bless, I think he will want to eat sooner than later. I started solids at 5m with mr first, and it worked well ,I think it’s 6m in uk, 4 in Europe so I thought ;m is nicely in the middle 😄. He also started to pull himself up, he wants to sit up and also wants to stand all the time . I guess he wants to see everything. And trying to give ya a kiss , nice wet drooly kiss 😬, so cute.

Are you still seeing the HV? Do you still have to weight her?

LucyLucyT · 24/10/2020 11:46

All done with the HV until 10 months unless we need to get extra weights done. Just gonna keep an eye on the weight at home for now.

I think Erin might have been teething for a few weeks as well as always chewing her hand and dribbling (on top of the reflux!). She is trying to sit up a lot (she doesn't like relaxing back when we are holding her now) and loves standing too 😁 she's holding on to fabrics etc but is still working out holding slightly larger things by herself but it won't be long.

It was a year since I had my egg collection and essentially conception for us on weds, so weird to think it was that time ago and now I have this little human!

Sorry your regime is so tricky, I'm sure it'll get easier soon. It's horrible when then get the trapped wind, Erin has it from time to time but I'd say it's got a bit better now. I presume you've tried all sorts but apparently doing daily massage can help after a few days.

I have been going to a baby development course which has massage, yoga, sensory play, singing etc. I have all these intentions to do things with her regularly but somehow I still spend most of my time feeding, sitting her up, or changing her!

fool11 · 19/11/2020 00:40

How are you doing @LucyLucyT? How is the little one?

Hope you are all well @41trying. When is your due date ?

LucyLucyT · 20/11/2020 12:23

Hey @fool11 we're doing okay thanks. LO is now on gaviscon, it helps a little bit but she days she can still be so sick and I can't give get too much otherwise she struggles to go to the toilet. Going to speak to the doctor again and discuss other options.

Otherwise she's doing well, rolling over and nearly sitting by herself now. She actually feel asleep by herself in the day for the first time ever this morning, hoping this might be a good sign, she is mastering sucking her thumb so I think that helps her settle.

Still breastfeeding and seems to be going alright, think her weight is going okay now.

I'm feeling a bit addicted to chocolate at the moment, often a problem for me, but bad again at the moment 🤦

How are you getting on? Getting ready for Christmas?

Hope you are okay @41trying

41trying · 20/11/2020 13:30

Hi guys, so sorry I blocked myself out of everything with new phone.
I am actually in hospital waters broke on sat, I'm 37 weeks today and been Nill by mouth all morning waiting for my section, still not been down, getting rather fed up

fool11 · 21/11/2020 00:01

We are all well, thank you @LucyLucyT. He is growing so fast, started to sit up on his own 2d ago and now doesn’t want to lie down..wants to see things...he is so sweet, smiling most of the timeS. Just started to wear 6-9m clothes..I stopped breastfeeding during the day as he didn’t want to take it, was biting, crying..it was very stressful..I bf at night, he still wants to eat at midnight and then 3h later again..I express in the morning and evening and just give it to him in the bottle..but def the milk is drying out..It will be just formula soon..and I think he is teething, drooling like crazy. He started to sleep a bit better during g the day, not just 30min, sometimes he puts himself to sleep after first 30 for another 30, but nights ar still tiring..
Sorry to hear she still has reflux. When my daughter had it she also got a Gaviscon from gp but I didn’t give it to her because of the constipation. Her reflux kind of disappeared when we started solids, at 5m. When are u planning to start solids? I think gp can give her something else, starts with ‘o’ , I forgot the name. Many people swear by it.

Lovely to hear from yiu @41trying. That’s very exciting. I hope you had your c section now and you have your baby in your arms now.

LucyLucyT · 22/11/2020 11:15

Wow @41trying, hope it's all gone okay and you are enjoying those newborn cuddles!

@fool11 sounds like things have become a little easier for you at least. The smiles are lovely aren't they 😊

You've done a great job with the feeding to get this far. I have just started thinking about when to start giving solids, I might see how she is in a month and think about it then, can't believe already at this point!

fool11 · 22/12/2020 00:35

How are you @LucyLucyT?

Hope all is well @41trying.

LucyLucyT · 29/12/2020 19:10

Hi @fool11 sorry for the slow reply, even though we didn't really end up seeing anyone at Xmas it still seemed so busy getting organised! I met my sister on Christmas Eve in the car park of a Costa coffee drive thru in order to swap family presents in the end. Such a shame not to see family for her first Xmas but it can't be helped.
I was meant to see my parents today in a pub that has outdoor but covered seating but we went into tier 4 on Boxing Day so that was cancelled.

Did you have a good Christmas? Ours was lovely considering, but the time still went so quickly even though it was just the three of us!

Erin is doing well, reflux is still there but much improved from what it was, sometimes we go bib free, which is quite something! She can sit by herself for short periods and is getting more stable all the time. She's also making some of the initial efforts to crawl by trying to lift her bottom up on her knees.

Sleep is still about the same, nights quite good, but only short naps post-feed in the day.

Have you started giving food yet? We will start in the next couple of weeks.

How's everything else for you? xx

41trying · 29/12/2020 20:21

Hi @LucyLucyT @Fool11
It has been a bit of a whirlwind. My waters broke at 36weeks so taken went into hospital for a week, steroid injection and antibiotics for a week.
Had little boy 37weeks plus 1 by section on his daddy's b day. Fast forward he is 6 weeks on sat. How time flies

Sorry posted too soon. Sounds like you are both doing really well. I did my first drive today which was weird as its been nearly 7 weeks.
Cant wait until covid gets better as it's driving me crazy, as it is to most

Mseddy · 29/12/2020 23:08

Still love hearing these updates! I'm onto pregnancy number 2! Had a chemical in September and currently 4 weeks so super early pre OTD! Really hoping this is the one this time around!! I can't belive how much time has passed since we all started the journey together!

fool11 · 30/12/2020 00:13

Massive congratulations @41trying. I’m so pleased for you. He is gorgeous. Glad you are both well.

We are all well, thanks @LucyLucyT. We planned to spend Xmas with my in laws so they can see the kids but as in Surrey we are also in tier 4 so it didn’t happen. Shame. Also both kids were sick, little one still has a cold , had a power cut all evening on Xmas eve which was crazy, he didn’t like the dark, no heating, hot water, electricity to make his milk so it was a bit mental. He is very sweet, sits only a little, topples over wanting to reach things, very active. Still drooling like crazy. Also has only 30 min naps, just enought time for me to grab some food or stick the washing on etc. But night time is not great, yesterday kept waking almost every 30min all night, no idea why, haven’t slept at all, I’m absolutely shuttered . But he is so cute I don’t mind. Still feeding him at midnight, he wants his bottle but then keeps waking up, have to constantly try to put him back to sleep. 4.30am is a killer, wakes up every morning and really hard to put him back, sometimes he doesn’t go. He is already in 6-9m clothes and took out 9-12 today. Growing so fast. He absolutely adores his sister, so wonderful to see them together. I feel so blessed to have them. I haven’t started solids yet, I can’t remember what they can eat etc. I did kind of mix feeding with my daughter, spoon feed her when she was not so stable sitting on her own and then BLF later on. Might make him some pear or parsnip purée to see if he wants to take. Must admit I’m so tired I can’t find energy to even think about it. We took our hight chair out so he can sit with us at the table and he is loving it.

Congratulations @Mseddy. Lovely to hear from you. Hope it works this time x

LucyLucyT · 09/01/2021 22:05

@41trying, congratulations! He is a beautiful boy, I'm so pleased for you and your family. It's amazing how quick the time goes isn't it. I hope things are still going well for you all.

@Mseddy how are things, hope all is good and progressing okay 🤞🤞

@fool11 your Xmas Eve sounded eventful 😟

Sorry his sleep is still tricky, it must be hard being sleep deprived all the time. Lovely that as siblings they get on well though 😊

My little lady is very resistant to naps still, mainly manage to get her to have one at about 4pm on my lap after a feed but not much more than that!

I'm feeling like I have a lot of things to get started with her, need to start giving her food and don't really feel like I know what I'm doing, although I'm thinking we'll do a mixture of BLW and spoon/puree feeding. Still need to get a high chair. Still need to buy a monitor so we can try putting her for naps in her big cot in her room before moving her out of our bedroom at night. Time is going to fast and I am finding it hard to know what to do first! My partner is brilliant but more laid back about it all than me, plus he also relies on me being the one to look at what we should do and when! I do have a habit of overthinking things though.
She's sitting by herself now and is trying to have a crack at crawling, but hasn't really moved anywhere yet, mainly just building up the muscles she'll need I think.

Hope lockdown is going as okay as it can for you all x

fool11 · 13/01/2021 13:42

That’s great that she is sitting on her own @L. Well done. My little one just doesn’t get it 😀..that he can’t be just constantly reaching for things as he will fall on his nose or he throws him selves backwards so have to always be behind/next to him..hopefully he will figure it out soon .
I’ve started purées 3d ago, started with a pear he really liked, next day apple one, didn’t like, made a sweet potato today and loved it. I have Anabel Karnel and also Ellas kitchen books which I used for my daughter, there are some lovely and very easy recipes . my dd loved..but she was a great eater from day 1..she loved to try new things..They only take few teaspoons at the beginning so you can freeze the rest, saves so much time preparing always fresh. And later you can just mash it with a fork so they get used to a bit of texture.I have oxo Ice cube train with a lid which makes nice little portions but any will do, I like that it has a lid so you can close it before sticking in the freezer...we are lucky that we can use the high chair and everything else after our daughter.Vital baby has a nice soft silicon spoons which don’t hurt their gums when trying to bite it .

We need to do a loft conversation as only have 2bed house so he is for now staying with us in our room..I’m tired of this pandemic now...everything is on hold..
When will you be returning to work? I’m already dreading it..can’t believe they will be 6m in few days..

LucyLucyT · 13/01/2021 23:54

Ahh well done in the feeding! We started on Sunday, just with a bit of puréed carrot and then on Monday some banana. She's preferring the banana at the mo!
Well have a look at some of the recipes, thanks.
We have so much work to do on our house, we could've done it years ago but we decided to make it ten times harder by doing it with a small child instead!

Yeah I know what you mean with the pandemic, really feel we've missed out on all the normal new mum/ new baby things. I'm hoping to get my vaccine in the next few weeks at work so that's something at least. I'm due back June 6th but will look at using some annual leave to extend it. I've contacted one nursery now and have a shortlist of others to contact and arrange viewings (which are still allowed in the rules). Chatting with my manager next week to sort out reducing my hours. Just want to get it sorted so I can enjoy the rest of my time off as much as possible. When are you due back? x

Mseddy · 07/03/2021 18:25

@LucyLucyT all is good thank you. 14 weeks now and all looking perfect on scan. Still doesn't feel real! I can't belive you guys are up to the weaning stage! Where does the time go!!

fool11 · 08/03/2021 18:01

Congratulations @Mseddy! That’s wonderful news, really happy for you.

How are you @LucyLucyT? When are you going back to work? How is weaning going?
We are doing ok, still doing purées and just started some peach puffs for him this week so he learns to chew.can see huge improvement in last few days. He is teething badly, 4 teeth’s cutting through, two bottom and top fronts ones, so he is grumpy and not sleeping. Don’t think we slept at all last night. Glad it’s warmer and we can go out in the garden, for walks and thanks god the kids are back at school..the homeschooling was a nightmare.
How are you doing @41trying? Hope you are well.

LucyLucyT · 09/03/2021 14:45

@Mseddy that's such great news, I hope you have been feeling okay in yourself. I didn't enjoy the constant nausea in the first half of my pregnancy, oh and the tiredness hehe.

@fool11 we're doing okay here thanks, finally got her into her own room. Sleep at night got really bad since January, she was waking every hour or so and it felt like torture. Since being in her own room things are vastly better and she only wakes once, occasionally twice. She's waking up quite early at the mo so I still feel like I'm missing out on a bit of sleep!

She's eating quite well, I made her a curry, rice and chapati for lunch, I just plonked it on her highchair table and she wolfed it down! She also really likes pasta and I did a little tomato sauce with it for her. Otherwise giving her quite a lot of steamed vegetables, porridge, yogurt, fruit etc. She has some purées at time but she's been doing well with finger foods.
She's been crawling since the end of February which is fun! I bought a pop up playpen and my intention is to use this in the garden and allotment as well as at home when I need to contain her!

Still no teeth here yet, dribbling in and off but no sign. I hope your LO settles with it for a while soon, I'm not looking forward to that bit!

When do you go back to work? I'm currently trying to choose a nursery. I'll be working 3 days a week.

Lovely to hear the updates 😀 xx
