Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time Smile

Hi @LucyLucyT congrats on your BFP! I'm going on a couple nice walks and meals and then I'm back in work on the second week. I managed to go for my first run today after EC as I'm a keen runner. Last time I toke a break from it but this time I'm going to carry on a few days after ET for my own sanity!! Did you do anything different to usual after ET? I've also cut out red meat this time!

Mseddy · 08/11/2019 20:33

Welcome @Dusky7 and @bailey2017 good luck on your journeys!

My gp didn't ring me for my phone appt today which is annoying! I'm going to have to try and get an emergency gp appt for Monday now or my self cert time will run out. I'm really hoping we don't get a phonecall asking us to come in for a day 3 transfer tomorrow! I'm hoping we still have a few battling it out until day 5!

Mseddy · 08/11/2019 20:39

@LucyLucyT I've just been doing a quick search as I wanted to know if there was a difference in the effectiveness of the cyclogest depend which way you take it and I found an article that says they can be used either way, except in artifical reproductive technology in which case they must be taken vaginally! No idea why, but I'm going to switch back just incase

Dusky7 · 08/11/2019 20:52

Hi @Bailey2017, good luck for your ET, I had 17 fertilised embryos on my first fresh cycle, I now have two gorgeous daughters from them.

Thanks for your welcomes x

OTD is Thursday...May do it 12dp5dt though, which is Tuesday, I'll see how long I can hold out for/want to keep hope for. I have no PMA whatsoever atm.

How do you get to see all of the posts as you are posting? Need to get the hang of this :)

Bailey2017 · 08/11/2019 21:03

Thank you @Dusky7 I take it you had a double fresh embryo transfer?

fool11 · 08/11/2019 22:03

Welcome @Dusky7 and @bailey2017

@baikey2017 good luck tomorrow , hope all goes well. We are expecting a phone call tomorrow to see how our embryos are doing, hopefully there will be some good news.

@mseddy Did the article say why it’s better to do it vaginally? I’m really struggling with them. They make me so bloated it’s actually painful and uncomfortable. Do you guys drink 3l of water a day like it’s say on instructions from hospital? I’m struggling with that.

Dusky7 · 08/11/2019 22:20

@Bailey2017 I always used to have DET, DD1 was from the fresh and DD2 was from the third FET from that fresh. They changed their protocol and my last 5 cycles have all been SETs, not overly happy about that if I'm honest...

@Fool11, I drink 2l, occasionally a little more, I can't manage 3l, I'm on the loo all the time as it is. Good luck for tomorrow x

Bailey2017 · 08/11/2019 22:25

Hi @fool11 thank you so much and good luck with your little embryos 🤞🤞 what cycle are you currently on? Will this be your 1st pregnancy (hopefully!!)

@Dusky7 so your going for a third baby! Good on you! Hope it works out for you 🤞🤞🤞

Mseddy · 08/11/2019 22:25

@fool11 they didn't tell me to drink 3l of water. I definately haven't today though! My aim is to drink more tomorrow! No it didn't say, but it was a medical journal I read it in not just a Dr Google scenario. I know they really arnt pleasant are they! But fingers crossed they do they job!

LucyLucyT · 08/11/2019 23:37

I was told to drink 2-3L of water but this was because of OHSS but it wasn't advised specifically otherwise.

@Mseddy do whichever way you are happy, there are also studies that say they work as well either way. My clinic said either way was okay.

@Bailey2017 I usually run a few times a week but I've stopped at the mo, I'd find it too uncomfortable just now but hoping too pick it back up gradually in a few weeks time. My other main exercise is netball, but that's out now as too much contact and risk of falling, I miss it though!

Dusky7 · 09/11/2019 09:15

Yes, very greedy I know, I have had a lot of comments over the years, I always dreamed of a big family, and the girls are desperate for a little sibling too (not that they know we are trying of course) x

fool11 · 09/11/2019 10:44

How did it go @bailey2017 ?

I had a phone call this morning, they are all still developing which is positive so far, they didn’t tell me what grade they are though, only that they are all growing, some are behind, so ET on Monday now. This is our first and last (only ivf), I’m old in terms of ivf, have one 4yDD and had MMC 18m ago, this is only try we plan to do. Hopefully there will be some good embryos on Monday..

@Dusky7 did you have one or two Implanted? Thought of twins terrifies me, I shouldn’t probably think like that as chances are very slim for me being pregnant, quality of my eggs is prob not that great, but can’t help it. I think they will want me to do two, if they are good..so many decisions to make..

How are you feeling @LucyLucyT? Did you do another test?

Bailey2017 · 09/11/2019 10:54

@LucyLucyT I know it's so hard, I was going to go again this morning but I think resting my body before the ET is wise! I don't want to strain anything after coming so far! And I'm still abit swollen. Yes have you done another test?

@fool11 we are booked in at 3pm, I'll let you know if we decided on a double transfer as it was discussed via phone but they said they would liase with my consultant, and then discuss with me on the day. How many little embryos have you got left? I hope we still have a good number 🤞 as this will be our last go.

Dusky7 · 09/11/2019 10:55

I had one put back this time, was two with my DDs.

Not long to go for you now, I wish you all the luck in the world x

fool11 · 09/11/2019 11:05

Thank you @Dusky7..so you have twins?

LucyLucyT · 09/11/2019 11:32

I've decided to wait another day, will test again tomorrow morning. Feeling so paranoid about it and reading in to things too much. I think my OHSS is settling which is good but at the same time I'm worrying that may mean the hormones are dropping off. Feel like I'm being irrational! Hopefully everything is still going okay.

Glad others seem to be progressing well :-)

fool11 · 09/11/2019 12:29

We had 10 fertilised out of 11eggs, and they only said this morning, D3, that they are all growing, different stages, some are behind..don’t know more..first ivf so not very familiar with all this..just need to hope like everyone that it will be fine for d5 transfer.
Good luck this afternoon x

I admire you @LucyLucyT that you can make yourself wait..I’m not that strong, would be prob testing all the time ..

Mseddy · 09/11/2019 13:57

@LucyLucyT good luck for your test tomorrow, I'm sure it'll all be fine :)

@fool11 we don't get phonecalls everyday from our clinic. I guess it's because we can't do anything with the information except worry about it, and because they want us chilled out they don't tell us. All I know is because I haven't had a phonecall this morning asking me to pop in for day 3 transfer, that we must have at least 2 still battling it out. Fingers crossed we both get some decent blasts

fool11 · 09/11/2019 14:09

It’s easier to say than do..chill out..they(doctors) deal with this everyday , for them it’s normal, for us stressful and worrying..I find not knowing more stressful than knowing.. I’m not good with waiting ☺️. I’m already stressing about one or two..truth is there might not be any good ones, it’s down to nature now but can’t help it..

Dusky7 · 09/11/2019 15:11

Not twins, DD2 is from the same batch but FET 3 years later.

Received a letter from my clinic this morning saying that they are closing down in April 2020! Am completely gutted and can't believe it :(

Mseddy · 09/11/2019 17:14

@fool11 usually I'm the same. I have to know everything! But I'm trying to be less like they after a book I read suggested trying not to take on the clinics role per say. For example, I have asked them not to tell me my amh results. I can't do anything with the information except stress, it's not going to benefit me so there is no point in knowing. We've got alot riding on nature right now!

Has anyone used the embryoscope? I'm wondering if they let us see the time lapse video at the end of it.

@Dusky7 oh no, what will happen with any frozen embryos or samples they have?

Dusky7 · 09/11/2019 17:37

@fool11 I've not used that. They will transfer them wherever we want to go to, but the only option it far away...

Bailey2017 · 09/11/2019 18:05

Embryo transfer went well today... They would only transfer one. It was a 4bb, I know we shouldn't go of what grade they are, it's whether they implant or not! And they managed to freeze 6! I'm just so happy knowing we have a good chance this time.

LucyLucyT · 10/11/2019 03:50

Ridiculous o'clock, couldn't hold on any longer, pleased to say I got a stronger BFP just now. I had been lying awake, my heart thumping for about two hours convinced it wasn't going to be alright. So relieved, hopefully I can relax a bit for a few days at least!

@Bailey2017 congrats on your transfer and great news about 6 frozen!

@fool11 I know what you mean about the endless waiting for updates, so stressful, sounds like you've got a really good rate of fertilisation though. Hope you are feeling okay.

Right time to try and sleep again!

Bailey2017 · 10/11/2019 05:52

Such exciting news! They do say it only takes one!! When will you have a blood test and when will you have your first scan? When will you decide to tell family/friends? Does your work know? (sorry for all the questions)! Congratulations!! Bet your so happy! Grin
