October 2019 cycle Buddies

Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time

@ I am starting in Bemfola 150. I find found them quite easy to do last time around so I am hoping for much of the same.

@41trying hope your new med is unproblematic like last time.

Spoke to the GP last night and he was gone about signing me off, I'd worked myself up into a lather about it! So I'm off until the week after next with the way my shifts fall. In a way I know that work would be a bit of a distraction but also know that I would be finding it very hard to concentrate while there.
I'm testing a week today, feel a little bit sick each time I think about it! Over thinking every little twinge. Been getting a bit of lower back pain but I think my ovaries must still be big because it's quite painful to laugh (still managing to do that at least!). Feeling tired but guessing that might be more through lack of sleep!

@LucyLucyT glad you got signed off. My phone appt to be signed off is Thursday, my gp is really lovely and knows what's going on so hoping she will just let me off. Yeah it's fymerdal that's blunt! I did it myself this morning becuase I knew I needed a little more force.

So just came back from my transfer. They convinced me to transfer 2 embryos in the end. Because of age and previous results and the fact that one was a good quality blast but the other was borderline fair. But then they kept freaking me out by saying I could end up having 2 and isn't it exciting. Really dont want twins but I know there's not that great a chance of even one live birth anyway. They will call me tomorrow to let me know if there is one more that will make it to freeze. The other 3 are not looking likely.

@Violet180 fingers crossed you get one that latches on! Hope you are feeling okay.

Today has been better for me as I've had a good distraction, always decorate the house for Halloween and we get so many trick or treaters so it's been busy. Need to keep doing stuff to keep my mind off the two week wait, 6 sleeps to go.

@LucyLucyT Only 6 sleeps? Wow. Wishing you the most luck.

I've just had my first stim scan this morning. I only have 3 follicles responding so far :( and even they are smaller than they would like. I have 11 more that haven't shown any response yet. I'm carrying on with the same meds and being scanned again in 48 hours. Ive lost all my optimism, I know it only takes one egg, but at this moment in time I can't even see us getting one!!

Aww @Mseddy I had a similar situation on my last round, I still got a good embryo at the end though but unfortunately BFN on that one, but might not be for you! I know it's disappointing but wait and see what happens in a couple of days.

I'm getting a fair bit of abdo pain on movement at the moment, wondering if I've developed OHSS a bit later on. Really hoping it doesn't affect my chances :-/

@LucyLucyT if you are starting to develop OHSS now thats a good sign that you are pregnant as pregnancy makes it worse, so fingers crossed!

I don't really know how to feel anymore, I've written this cycle off in my head now. I don't even want to go for the scan tomorrow because I know nothing much is going to have changed in the last 48 hours and ill just be a blubbing mess the whole time

@Mseddy I honestly know how you feel it was the same for me last time. Wait and see you might get 3 good ones and that can definitely be enough. It's hard because I know nothing I say can make it better, it's just rubbish when it doesn't go the way you hope. I felt a bit the same this time when I only ended up with two blasts, so only got one back up, but at least it's something I guess.
I'll keep everything crossed for your scan tomorrow.

The fertility nurse just thinks my symptoms are my ovaries settling down, I'm not completely convinced on that because it's come on more in the last 2-3 days. My main symptom as well as the pain is constantly burping which is a bit embarrassing! Think I'm mainly just bloated. Hoping that the fact it's different to last time is a good thing but still trying to be realistic about the chances of BFP.

Very new to this..must admit many times I don’t even understand what you ladies are talking about..
this is my first and last ivf, short protocol. I’m on day d12 of gonalf f and day 7 ferymadel (which I really find painful and horrible). I had my scan, first one after starting jabs, on Friday and unfortunately only two follicles were good size, so going for a re-scan tomorrow hoping there will be some... although finding it hard to be positive. We are lucky to have a 4yDD , been trying for another one for a while, I’m nearly 45 so ‘ancient ‘, not many eggs left and probably all rubbish. Had a MMC last year.

@fool11 welcome. I'm day 11 today so we are at a similar place drugs wise. And a similar situation eggs wise as I haven't responded very well unexpectedly. Fingers crossed your next scan shows some more follicles!

@LucyLucyT I feel totally bloated too, but no burping, as yet anyway. How long till test day?

I had my second scan this morning. I now have 5 on one side and 2 on the other, but all are still smaller than they would like. They are giving me one last night of stim tonight and then egg collection on Wednesday. I really really hope I get at least one good one!

@fool11 welcome, I know these forums can feel a bit daunting with so many abbreviations everywhere! Fingers crossed your follicles grow some more for you, I know the feeling from my first round a could of months ago.

@Mseddy that sounds more positive than the other day at least, fingers crossed for you collection on Wednesday.

@fool11 welcome. I only have a few responding too, appointment tomorrow and hoping for EC Wed!. Feeling a little rubbish today, cetrotide does this to me I think, hoping I will only have one more to take tomorrow.

@Violet180 I feel different to last time so hoping that's a good sign but equally know that the odds are never stacked in our favour! I didn't have any symptoms for the first few days, just in the last 3 or so. It could just be the progesterone but hoping the change in symptoms of because I'm also producing more of my own now. I just have to be patient!

@Mseddy, I only had 3 at size on sat, the rest were small, so not expecting anymore. I have to keep optimistic or I may aswell give up now.

@41trying none of mine where at size. So I'm just crossing everything and hoping it's not a huge failure!!

Morning all. EC is Wed, just got to wait for a call later, if I take one or 2 triggers. My left side never responded before but they seem to have started now. A little late, so not sure if any will be big enough by Wed. I have 20mm on right and 2 just about to size and a few too small. So it's all just fingers crossed again.

Morning, I’m also having EC on Wed, scan this morning was much better than last Friday.
Hope all goes well for you @41trying @Mseddy on Wed.
