October 2019 cycle Buddies

Hi all

There was already a thread for people cycling in October that i wanted to join but canny find it anywhere.

Im about to do my 6th (jeez) cycle of ICSI.
I already have a 4 year old DS from cycle number 4 and we decided we would try for a sibling.

Im currently just about to ovulate (getting the flashy smiley face on OPK) then i will start stimming on my next period at the start of October.

I had an awful cycle last November (my 5th) where i only got 2 mature eggs and non fertilised. This was because the wrong dose of drugs were given at the start of stimming.
So, with this slightly in the back of my mind, im still optimistic for a better cycle this time

Looks like Wednesday is a popular egg collection day! Fingers crossed for all of us. I don't know how big mine are, just that they wanted me to take one last dose of meriofert last night before trigger today to try and grow them more. I'm getting a Phonecall between 1 and 3 to tell me what time to take my trigger. They have already told me I'm double dose though. I'm at work until 2230 so I'll be injecting at work! I'm just hoping I can get away at the right time

Wednesday is a big day for a few of us then. You'll be finding out how many eggs you've got and I'll be testing, fingers crossed for us all x

@Mseddy I completely forgot I was working late the day I had to take my trigger injection. They called when I was at work and told me I had to take the injection right when I finish work but I neglected to take it with me. I had to take emergency leave so I could go home and take it. Also had to get my husband to leave work because he injects me and I cant do it myself! What a kerfuffle. 2 managers at my work know we are doing ivf.

@violet180 sounds like it was a bit stressful! They called me and said I don't need to Inject until 2330, so I guess I'm later on on the list for egg collection Wednesday, really must be a busy day for egg collection. Hopefully I should be home from work by then so at least that's something! My husband is away tonight so I'll have to Inject myself, but I have done a few times throughout so I'm OK with that.

@Mseddy, my EC is 845, and I have to take trigger at 945 tonight, it is a busy day for us.

Having EC at noon on Wed so trigger tonight, midnight.

@violet180 did you experience any side effects from the trigger jab? Did u take ovitrelle? Not sure if there are different trigger drugs..

@fool11, I took ovitrelle, last time and will do this evening, I never, hoping for much the same

@fool11 yeah I took or ovitrelle aswell. No I didn't get any side effects. I have heard people can get prescribed double triggers and stuff. But this is my first fresh transfer. The trigger in my frozen rounds was buserelin.

I'm on a double dose trigger of gonasi I think its called. No idea why a double trigger! I wish they explained stuff a little more. I'm dreading the nil by mouth part, I'll be starving by 1130!

@Mseddy doctor said to me today take double as there was another egg nearly at size, so maybe that's why, I dont understand half of it too be fair

I'm kind of glad I was put on double because it was such a crap syringe that it leaked out everywhere whilst I was injecting! It's really annoyed me! I've given literally hundreds of injections and I'm mad that this one leaked every where :(

@Mseddy I had a double Gonasi on both my cycles, I think it's fairly normal :-)

Evening all, how is everyone doing? EC tomorrow as wish the day away today and it seems to have dragged.

I'm going to be testing tomorrow, feeling very nervous, not sure I'll sleep much.

Had to ring my clinic today as was worrying about how swollen my abdomen is now. I've never known anything like it. As suspected they think it's OHSS, and because it's come on later, is hopefully a good sign. Got to drink lots and keep moving! I hope it goes down before too long but I believe pregnancy can make it worse for a good few weeks. Small price to pay if it works out though ☺️

@41trying I feel like today has gone on forever too. I've also eaten ALLLLL the food, and my boobs are so sore!!!!

Awww @LucyLucyT that sounds like a good sign for good news tomorrow.

I’ve been eating like a horse and my stomach is enormous and swollen and boobs crazy sore too..

@fool11 yep first thing which means probably about 5am if I can hold on that long!

As predicted I woke up at the crack of dawn as needed the loo! Happy to report I got a BFP. It's a light line, but a line it is!

I'm a natural born worrier, so now just hoping things continue okay. Debating whether to test again in a few days to see a stronger line or not. But for now we're very happy at least!
