@LaurenN23 I had 5 cycles of letrozole last year before having my little boy (who is perfection), and now cycle 2 of letrozole again, first cycle didn’t make me ovulate (but I didn’t ovulate until cycle 5 last time either).

It’s full of ups and downs, good days bad days, but it’ll be completely worth it in the end

LaurenN23 · 20/09/2019 12:18

@Goingbacktokansascity oh I wish you all the luck

Seventytwoseventythree · 20/09/2019 12:24

Hi @LaurenN23 can we be buddies in term of starting Clomid? I have my pills but waiting for my next period to start, don’t know when that will be of course, cycles are averaging 42 days but very variable. Hopeful that I get my period at 42 days this time which would mean I’m starting the clomid around October 10th so not that far behind you. Let me know how you get on. I’m excited and nervous at the same time.

Seventytwoseventythree · 20/09/2019 12:26

Also big congratulations @Jemstar33 😊😊😊

LaurenN23 · 20/09/2019 12:32

@Seventytwoseventythree Ofcourse! That would be great. Did your dr/consultant not offer you something to bring on a bleed? My periods are the same, all over the place and my dr gave me Provera!

doomkittycleo · 20/09/2019 13:23

@Goingbacktokansascity I’ve had a positive opk at some stage in pretty much every cycle ever (despite not ovulating).

It’s like when I got the cysts, my body tried to ovulate, but the follicle didn’t rupture to release the egg, but instead kept growing.

They did expect it to settle down once the clomid was out of my system.

seven201 · 20/09/2019 13:52

Oh my goodness, congratulations @Jemstar33 !

Rinoa · 20/09/2019 13:53

@Jemstar33 that's amazing! Congrats and praying for you! How long do you have to wait to tell the doc you got a positive??

Seventytwoseventythree · 20/09/2019 14:16

Hi @laurenN23 she said she would if I didn’t have a period for ages but because I was only 3-4 weeks away from my next period (based on averages) she said just to wait for it. However she said to call if no period is forthcoming! I’ve never had a cycle over 50 days so hopefully won’t have to wait for ages!

LaurenN23 · 20/09/2019 14:21

@seventytwoseventythree ah okay! fingers crossed it comes soon for you, this infertility thing is such a waiting game! What's your background? how have you found yourself down this road?

Seventytwoseventythree · 20/09/2019 14:34

@LaurenN23 I’m 31, been trying for 17 months, was on the pill for years and years before hand. Did have a few pill breaks but was not really paying any attention so can’t remember if my periods have always been like this, but my mum says they were irregular when I was a teenager too.

Went to the GP at 1 yr and had some bloods that showed PCOS (though don’t have any other symptoms tbh), husbands SA was normal, scan fine except for the PCOS. Have been referred to NHS clinic but the apt was not til next April and the waiting (and not knowing what could be done) was really getting me down so decided to go private at least initially. It’s a bit expensive but my plan is to use it to kickstart the process and then when the NHS apt comes up I will have already had six months of clomid and if it’s not working then could change onto NHS letrozole or something. Hasn’t been that long in the grand scheme of things but feels like forever! And millions of my friends/colleagues are pregnant or have small babies. I’m in an airport just now and I swear ever other person has a baby with them!

How about you? What’s your journey been like? I hope it all works out for you.

LaurenN23 · 20/09/2019 14:44

Waiting times can be so long sometimes :(

I'm 25, TTC for just over 1.5 years, went to GP in march and had scans, bloods, HSG etc. I have severe PCOS in both ovaries and likely never ovulated. Husbands SA is fine which is great.

I honestly never thought I'd be in this situation, I have dreamt of a family as long as I can remember and it seems so much harder so far than I thought.

I know what you mean about everyone being pregnant/having babies - my best friend is now 26 weeks and I cried when she told me, felt awful but I can't seem to hide my feelings :(

Jemstar33 · 20/09/2019 14:44

@BinkyB4 @seventytwoseventythree @seven201 @Rinoa thank you all so much. Doesn’t feel real and I’m scared to let it.

I’m not sure what the rules are with the docs Riona but I called them straight away last time and then my scan/midwife appointments came through a few days after mc 💔 so I’m going to wait it out. Take a week at a time and see how it goes. Not sure I can take the heartbreak again.

I will only be 4 weeks on Tuesday. It’s very early days.

Jemstar33 · 20/09/2019 14:52

@LaurenN23 I cried when my friends told me too. It’s only since my mc that my friends have started to ask how things are going, they know how long we’d been trying but it’s hard for people to know what to say when they haven’t been in these situations. I still resented them tho, resented them for asking/not asking/ being pregnant. 😂🙈 It’s a lonely place and you’re emotions are everywhere. You’re in good hands with these ladies.

Seventytwoseventythree · 20/09/2019 14:58

@jemstar33 pore thing you must be walking on eggshells. Fingers crossed all goes well and once you get to 12 weeks you can relax a bit (appreciate just feel a long way off though)

LaurenN23 · 20/09/2019 14:58

@jemstar33 I know what you mean! I feel like no one can actually say or do the right thing, I get annoyed no matter what! My brain is all over the place. So pleased for you though, keeping everything crossed

Seventytwoseventythree · 20/09/2019 15:06

@LaurenN23 @Jemstar33 sorry to hear your stories. It’s really hard. I wish I’d paid more attention to my cycles earlier but you just don’t think
Of these things do you? Until it happens.

Yes completely agree. I feel like such a bitch, there are friends that I really care about and I want to be happy for them but I just can’t handle it. I’ve muted half my instagram and Facebook. I’ve told a few good friends what’s going on but most people don’t know and the number of thoughtless comment honestly!

AmyMaria2 · 20/09/2019 15:24

@Jemstar33 congratulations!! Clomid obviously works very well for you! Everything crossed you get your baby this time 🥰 xx

DobbieFreeElf · 20/09/2019 16:51

🙋🏻‍♀️ Just unfollowed a friend on Facebook following, yet another, pregnancy announcement 😭

Jemstar33 · 20/09/2019 18:42

@AmyMaria2 thank you! How did you get on with the bloods today? Xx

AmyMaria2 · 21/09/2019 04:19

@Jemstar33 so happy for you!! 💫Yes bloods were alright, not great with needles but obviously got used to it the last 6 months lol, I can ring for results Monday, or wait until I see consultant Thursday and talk about them with her x

Goingbacktokansascity · 21/09/2019 09:27

Private Scan today, no ovulation, no follicles above 7mm 😭 cycle day 30. Eurgh it’s so rubbish.

seven201 · 21/09/2019 11:01

@Goingbacktokansascity oh that's rubbish, sorry. Did they advise anything/give next steps?

Goingbacktokansascity · 21/09/2019 12:48

@seven201 theoretically up the dose but I got so sick last time that I’m not sure I can do it again, big discussions today ☹️

Rinoa · 21/09/2019 13:59

@Goingbacktokansascity sorry to hear that girl ☹️ did they suggest Ivf? They put me on the wait list before I was even treated just in case a Clomid fails.
