Hi everyone ! Please can I join? I'm on my first round of clomid. Took 50mg from day 5-9 of my cycle. Currently on cycle day 18. No positive ovulation test yet :( be nice to follow how everyone gets on ! xx

Welcome @Helena112 are you going to have scans or blood tests to monitor and see if you ovulated? x

My hospital didn't offer any scans. But I will be having a blood test on cycle day 21 (Wednesday) but I don't think the 50mg has worked for me. Looking at my ovulation tests strips I think it's been close... :/ oh well! 100mg next cycle!

@Helena112 welcome! Looks like you're getting close, I'd keep testing just in case ! I thought I was a lost cause but suddenly got a positive today. I took Clomid CD2-6. It's cd 15 today

Silly me, I’ve been trying to post on the old thread over the weekend (doh!)!

Got my first flashing smiley on Thursday, and got my solid smiley this morning (cd15) usually don’t see it until cd17 so clomid seems to have brought this forward slightly...

What is all your opinions on BDing?

DH has a low count (16million on last count but good quality) We DTD Monday, Wednesday, Saturday morning and (because he’d been away for the night before) last night. Now I’ve peaked today (earlier than expected) I feel I should have spurned his advances last night and saved those soldiers until today

I think I read somewhere it's not good to have their soldiers in their home for too long? Lol so best to do it everyday on your fertile days. I peaked yesterday so that's what I will do!

@Rinoa and @DobbieFreeElf, that’s not entirely accurate. It takes 3-5 days for sperm to reach maturity, so best have a few days break between each BD (especially in the case of low sperm count).

Long periods of abstinence aren’t recommended either, hence why “most” Drs recommend every few days all month long.

However my clomid information leaflet said to abstain for 5 days, to allow sperm to reach the best level of maturity then BD for 3 days in a row once opk turns positive.

I guess adding more potential swimmers to the mix can’t hurt once ovulation is imminent. You just don’t wanna waste the best sperm by BDing too frequently too early.

I wouldn’t worry if you BD’d last night as it’s close enough anyway (sperm can survive up to 6 days), but if you get chance to have another go today and or tomorrow, it won’t harm your chances.

Yes, we definitely aim not to DTD more than every other day normally, and I thought we’d have a couple more days to build up the army again!

Incidentally I’ve also just looked forward on my calendar and noticed that I’m due to see af on my birthday. That’ll be a rubbish b-day pressie if she appears on time

@doomkittycleo oh I didn't know that! I was aiming to dtd every day next few days, but guess it won't hurt if we leave 24hrs in between :P I even think DH was a bit worn out yesterday lol

OAN I'm definitely feeling sensations i haven't felt ever I think! Definitely pressure on my right side and heavy cramping

I’m on my TWW. Will test on Sunday if AF hasn’t arrived. My nipples are sore and I’ve got a cold sore which I don’t usually get, but strange that my last cycle, the one where I conceived, I had a cold sore the week before too!
Shouldn’t get my hopes up but I still will! X

@Jemstar33 fingers crossed this will be your month 💖 I only tested once a day at 4:30. It's a lot lighter today so either I missed the surge or 50mg didn't work for me :(

@Rinoa the ovulation feelings were new to me too! It’s crazy to think what’s happening inside of us. I like the sensations.

50mg for me too

When, if at all, do side effects happen? I have felt really yucky all afternoon and I am 4lb heavier today (having just lost 1.5st this had me peeved). Do side effects normally happen just during the days taking clomid or throughout the month?

I'm on 50mg as well, 6th cycle last month🤞

@DobbieFreeElf I usually felt them just the days I was taking clomid. The weight I noticed all throughout the month!

@AmyMaria2 how are you feeling? What day will you test? It really is the worst. I hope you get some positive news x
