Sorry I went quiet for a while Sad... Starting round 2 today!

Goingbacktokansascity · 15/10/2019 08:48

@gwen7896 good luck!
I thought I’d be pregnant by Christmas for definite and the fact that it’s no luck so far is making me feel quite sad today. I think I keep getting so excited about ovulating this month that I’m going to be in for an almighty fall when even if I’ve ovulated I’m not pregnant. Why is the chance of pregnancy 25% each month? What sort of evolutionary madness is that. Dogs have like 7 puppies in one fucken go. Sharks can have up to 100 😂 humans apparently take years just to have one and spend that time on mumsnet 🤷🏽‍♀️

CharlotteCx · 15/10/2019 12:04

Hi ladies. I got my cd21 bloods back and my results were 67.50 so I did ovulate! 😁

DobbieFreeElf · 15/10/2019 12:09

@Goingbacktokansascity I hear you!

I bumped into a friend in the supermarket to day who has a DD who is 1 and she is pregnant again, due in January, she will have conceived and had 2 children in the time we are TTC... that hurt

I have really try to stop myself from thinking of future events and “I’ll surely be pregnant by then” but just yesterday I was thinking about 2 (very extortionately expensive) hen parties (1 that I was completely railroaded into going to) in January and Feb next year and how I won’t be able to drink if I’m pregnant... then I remembered I’m not pregnant and (given the last 2 year’s track record) unlikely to be

WhaaaaaaAaaaaaAaaa!!!!

CharlotteCx · 15/10/2019 12:22

61.7 not 67.50, got that wrong 🙈 very pleased with that outcome.

Goingbacktokansascity · 15/10/2019 12:37

@DobbieFreeElf I can’t wait to be pregnant bloated, nauseous and sober. This month feels different for me because my husband is actually so so invested. Asking about OPKs and private scans etc so I think the emotions are high in our house!

Smile08 · 15/10/2019 13:16

So I had my CD12 scan today.

It showed I have one 15mm follicle on the left and 2 11mm ones on the right.

The doctor is happy 15mm one and has given the go ahead for us to DTD for the next 2 weeks. She doesn't think the other 2 will mature.

They have booked my blood test for next week that should show if I have ovulated.

The woman doing the scan made out that it perhaps was not dominant enough and may need more time to grow. But the doctor said it should be fine as my lining was at 6mm.

With them both saying different, I'm unsure whether it's a good thing or not.

Has anyone else had similar results?

:)

DobbieFreeElf · 15/10/2019 14:11

Not sure @Smile08 (we're not having any scans) all you can do is DTD every other night and hope for ovulation and strong swimmers Smile

My OH is weirdly interested this month too @Goingbacktokansascity, maybe they reckon if it happens now they won't have to get us a Xmas present Grin

Goingbacktokansascity · 15/10/2019 14:17

Because apparently I’m a masochist @dobbiefreeelf if we got pregnant we would be 12 weeks on Christmas Eve. Eurgh ready to be heartbroken yet?! I am !

DobbieFreeElf · 15/10/2019 14:25

My first miscarriage I was due to be 12 weeks a few days before xmas, had even discussed with the midwife making sure we got booked in for my 12 week scan a few days early and before xmas so I could tell everyone on xmas morning...

...BUT WE'RE NOT THINKING ABOUT THESE THINGS ARE WE?! WE'RE TAKING EVERY DAY A IT COMES... WHAT WILL BE WILL BE!

That's me shouting at myself in my head!!! Grin is it too early for gin!?!!

Goingbacktokansascity · 15/10/2019 14:42

@dobbiefreeelf I like your style with the gin. Eurgh that must be rubbish coming up to this time of year. We are both fertility masochists 😂 we are cynical optimists atleast. I’d like pregnancy to be an excuse not to travel and see the in laws 😂

DobbieFreeElf · 15/10/2019 15:06

Haha @goingbacktokansascity! We're flying to Australia at the end of November returning at the new year just to get away from family at xmas! It's quite an extreme move!

I know I probably definitely won't be pregnant by then but 24 hours travelling with a toddler in early pregnancy also doesn't sound ideal (although I don't care! I'd take anything right now)

Anyone else secretly hoping for twins (or more!) to make up for all the TTC BS?!!!

Goingbacktokansascity · 15/10/2019 15:14

@dobbiefreeelf no no no to multiples. Too much time working in SCBU and NICU and seeing the (rare but more likely than Singleton) complications ☹️

Chichz · 15/10/2019 16:38

@CharlotteCx yay, congratulations! Grin

I've also had to try break the habit of imagining times in the future where I might have a baby bump or not be able to drink (aside from when I'm on this silly PCOS diet!!). It's good to know we're not alone. x

CharlotteCx · 15/10/2019 16:47

@Chichz aw thanks for your reply ☺️ I'm over the moon that the 50mg Clomid have worked! I'm going to do a pg test next week. I have been reading on google & it says first trimester of pregnancy progesterone levels should be between 11.9 & 44 .. if mine were 61.7 what does that mean? Also, my CB is still flashing a smiley face too... I am deffo not in my fertile window now lol.

Ahhh I always do that! Like I'll drive somewhere and think Awww hopefully there will be my little baby sitting next to me soon, silly things like that haha. What pcos is that hun? I just try to eat 3 meals a day I still eat so many carbs though 🙈

Chichz · 15/10/2019 18:34

Yeah that's amazing! Most people seem to need more than 50mg so really pleased it worked for you.

It's from a lady called Kym Campbell - smartfertilitychoices.com

I've signed up to the 30-day challenge and she has since sent a little 3-day diet plan which I'm going to try in my half-term lol. Apparently low sugar and carbs are the way to go for PCOS so trying to make small changes - so hard for me too though! X

CharlotteCx · 15/10/2019 18:56

@Chichz I thought I would need a higher dose, I generally thought I didn't ovulate last week cos my CB opk is still flashing! God knows what that's up to lol.

Ahh ok I have never heard of that! Yeah I've heard that too, all I eat is carbs 🙈 I'm terrible. Worth a try though isn't it!

Goingbacktokansascity · 15/10/2019 19:04

@CharlotteCx we know why it’s still flashing because it measures oestrogen which increases after ovulation

CharlotteCx · 15/10/2019 19:47

Didn't think it'd be flashing still now .. I ovulated over a week ago

Goingbacktokansascity · 15/10/2019 19:49

@CharlotteCx it’s a good sign.

CharlotteCx · 15/10/2019 19:52

@Goingbacktokansascity I never realised it was a good sign. I've been googling it but you know what Google's like gives you all different answers so I'm confused.

DobbieFreeElf · 15/10/2019 20:00

@CharlotteCx did you look at that chart I shared with you yesterday? It shows exactly what your hormones are up to.

For reference my day 21 Progesterone was 54

CharlotteCx · 15/10/2019 20:05

@DobbieFreeElf I did take a look yes, why is it a good sign though? Does that indicate pregnancy if it's still lurking round over a week after ov?

DobbieFreeElf · 15/10/2019 20:26

Cool, you’ll see on that chart that your oestrogen levels drop after ovulation then increase again slightly around day 21 then starts dropping again. Therefore your cb, which detects oestrogen and shows that by a flashing smiley face, will still flash.

But really there is absolutely no point in peeing on it anymore. All you’re doing is pissing money away!

Progesterone and oestrogen are both present in pregnancy but the only hormone that will confirm pregnancy is HCG detected by a pregnancy test.

CharlotteCx · 15/10/2019 20:35

@DobbieFreeElf yeah I see that on the chart, but @Goingbacktokansascity said that it was a good sign so was wondering why it's a good sign that the opk is still flashing? I know it means the oestrogen is still lingering, but what does this indicate because if everyone after ovulation has the oestrogen increase etc isn't that just the norm? Might sound silly not knowing but all of this is a lot to take in and is all very new to me.

I done a opk this morning before I got my cd21 blood results, I won't be doing anymore now ovulation has been confirmed.
