@seven201 really?? Have you had that before? It's weird because last week I got my peak opk on the cheapie strips you probably saw the photo I uploaded and then the cb went from a negative to a static smiley. Didn't flash. I didn't ovulate cos my temp dropped back down. So now my body's tryna do it again, and it's just constant flashing. I feel like crying it's so frustrating lol. Especially coz I feel like I haven't dtd enough only last night and my predicted fertile window isn't meant to shut until Wednesday! But if u say u only done it the once then I'm in with a chance. Obviously just depends when I ovulate! Did u dtd the night before ovulation when you fell pg?

@Goingbacktokansascity good luck with the bedroom transition! That will certainly make ttc easier! I read that book too . I'm currently sat by my dd's bed while she covers her rabbit cuddly toy in glittery sellotape. Go to sleep child!

@seven201 haha that approach would suit me right now 😂😂😂 I think I’m going to be so much more invested this month now because the tests suggest I’m ovulating at the right time even though really that’s the first hoop of many hoops 🙄

@CharlotteCx you may still have ovulated last week since temping is the most accurate but not completely accurate. I’ve temped when I was trying to conceive my son and my temperature went up and down the whole month, my gynaecologist said that typically women with PCOS have a “mountain range” picture on their temping chart and it is not as accurate

@Goingbacktokansascity do you think? I did think it was weird that I didn't ovulate cos I had such a dark peak. I'll attach a photo to show u, my bbt chart is exactly like what you've just said. I just don't understand why my CB opk would start flashing again if I did ovulate? X

@CharlotteCx I think the hormone that makes the flashing smiley hangs around for ages, so it may well just be what was left in your body from before. Temping is good but you do have to do it the instant you wake up otherwise the data is void. If I have a couple of glasses of wine the night before it mucks up my temp as does having a cold or whatever. You won't know if you have ovulated yet until you get your blood test results. Good that you don't have to wait much longer to fine out.

I honestly can't remember when we had sex that month. I think it probably was just before ovulation.

@CharlotteCx the dual hormone measures oestrogen which also increases throughout the first trimester after ovulation which is why they tell you to test leading up to ovulation and then stop testing.

@Goingbacktokansascity thank you for that piece of info that's made me feel more positive xx yeah I know you have to take the temp as soon as u wake, and at the same time. It's funny you say that actually cos Iv been full of cold all week, I'm still ill now. And last weekend I had a few glasses of wine lol xx

@Goingbacktokansascity the dual hormone opk you mean the cb one? That's the one I use x Hmm wonder if I did ovulate last weekend, the only reason I thought I didnt was because of my temping cos my temp dropped but it could of been cause Iv been ill. I had all the symptoms last weekend like increased CM, that dark peak opk, increase libido. This weekend I don't have none of that. Had a bit of creamy discharge on Friday (sorry tmi)

@CharlotteCx here’s a Chart showing women’s hormones throughout the month. You see the oestrogen increasing before ovulation? that’s what makes the flashy smiley. The LH peaking (which is much quicker) is what makes the ovary release the egg. If you started using the test again it is likely that it is detecting your oestrogen levels on their way down.

I’ve just been thinking to myself and wondered why if we have opks which detect oestrogen and LH then why don’t we have progesterone tests to prove ovulation and I googled and found this: proovtest.com/ the “perfect partner to your home opk” how odd that these seem relatively unheard of...

@DobbieFreeElf yeah your right that could be the case. I also done a cheapie opk today and that was completely negative so I don't know why that was neg and the cb is flashing? So confusing.

@DobbieFreeElf hopefully I did ovulate last weekend when I got my peak opk then. And it's doing what you said and detecting it on its way down. We'll soon see tomorrow once I have my bloods taken.

@CharlotteCx because the cheap opk is only detecting LH which has been and gone very quickly and the clear blue is detecting oestrogen (making it flash) which is present long after ovulation. (The blue one on that chart I posted)

@DobbieFreeElf right ok! Sorry I must seem so dumb this is all just so new to me so trying to take it all in. So do you think it's possible I ovulated when I got my peak last weekend? It's just another lady I spoke to she does her bbt daily, she said by the look of my bbt chart I haven't ovulated soo I started to panic 😩🙈 but I've read online that women with pcos their charts will look like the Rocky Mountains so you can't really go from that x

@DobbieFreeElf also last week, my cb opk went from negative. Then I done a cheap opk the following day which was positive peak, so then I done a Cb which was static smiley. So it didn't even flash last week. Is that also normal ? X

Mine didn’t flash this month either and reading round it’s not unheard of.

I had internal scans about 6 months ago and the lady doing the scan said she couldn’t see ovulation on my scan but every other hormone test proved that I had.

Really, unless you get a BFP I guess there is no way to absolutely, 100% know even with all the tests we do

Blood test: could be a borderline reading or taken at the wrong time so not 100%

Scan: as per experience above

BFP: no doubting the presence of an egg in this instance so really the only 100% proof of ovulation

@DobbieFreeElf exactly and well summarised. The month I got pregnant with DS day 21 bloods - no ovulation, day 28 bloods - progesterone through the roof and was told I’m either pregnant or have OHSS, took the test and BFP!! Consultant said I probably ovulated day 19.

My internal scans have always been pretty good to be fair, but so expensive.

My consultant once told me that I was a masochist for using OPKs when I have PCOS and she was so true 😁

Iv just had my cd21 bloods .. it's actually day 22 but couldn't get them done yday. I also have a blood test for cd28.

I took my temp this morning and well, I'm either doing it completely wrong (don't know how you can temp wrong) or my temperature is up n down like crazy. My temp has took the biggest dip apperently. It won't let me upload a photo, but yesterday it was at the top of the chart and this morning it's gone right down to the bottom. God knows 🤣 I'm not relying on that it's clearly not working for me or It must be because I'm full of cold.
