It does probably limit us to one baby though, unless a little miracle happens after IVF!

It's a 4-6 month wait even for the first consultation so I'm guessing a little while Sad That's why I'm glad I've got the Clomid at least for now though.

Diet is meant to be really important for PCOS, even if you're slim! I'm going to be trying this 30-day plan by Kym Campbell and I've never done a diet in my life. You should look it up as there is some interesting advice. X

CharlotteCx · 12/10/2019 16:44

@Chichz oh wow that is a long time. It'll all be worth it in the end x

Yes I know it is, I'm quite tall 5 foot 11 and my BMI is 31. I'm just a natural size 14. I wouldn't say I was hugely overweight at all. I eat so many carbs though and they say they're so bad for pcos 🙈 just love my food!

I’m alive!

So I had a night out with my friend (I mentioned her before, she’s the one who has just started trying for number 2 and I was already jealous that she would be pregnant before me) anyway, my prediction was right as she did fall pregnant straight away but she had an early miscarriage early part of this week, and last night she said she finally understands how I have been feeling for the last 2 years and how she’s already feeling herself falling into the monthly obsession over getting pregnant. I really don’t think anyone can understand what we are all going through until they have had a small taste of it. And sadly there seems to be so many of us. Anywho, we got to have some drinks, dance a little and generally let our hair down.

So here’s the clomid bit, I have obviously spectacularly f’ed up this cycle, day 13 and still a low result. Which has never happened. I always have had a high reading on or before day 12. Although I have had some EWM yesterday and some cramping and the same frequent peeing that I had last month (I’m sure that’s the clomid and not the wine!!) genuinely so pissed off as my body was doing fine on its own and I’m just messing it up Sad

Goingbacktokansascity · 12/10/2019 20:29

@dobbiefreeelf I’m glad you got to let your hair down a wee bit! I’ve stopped doing OPK this month I’m just going to DTD every two days and hope for the best but realistically I’ve checked out mentally. I know how you feel about your friend and how gutting that people get pregnant pronto, I found out yesterday one of my friends is “devastated” she’s pregnant again, one and done she said, but not using contraception 🙄

DobbieFreeElf · 12/10/2019 20:57

@goingbacktokansascity I hear you. Very few people know the full in’s and out’s of our struggles (maybe 2) and one spent the last 9 months telling me how awful her pregnancy is. Every time she started speaking about it I just wanted to shout “stop complaining you’re so bloody lucky to be pregnant” 🤦🏻‍♀️

CharlotteCx · 12/10/2019 21:33

@Goingbacktokansascity @DobbieFreeElf I also had a friend that turn round and joked and said ' ah I only have to walk passed a man and I get pregnant ' knowing my struggles. I had to walk out of the room.

Goingbacktokansascity · 13/10/2019 08:02

Such a loser but this month my CD actually coincide with the date which makes it so much easier for me to work out what should be happening 😂 CD 13, just gonna start DTD every night I reckon for this week, lucky husband eh. Then go back to every second night from the 20th-24th. Keep debating the private scans but I’m saying the clear blue fertility monitor is too expensive but I’m managing to pay £200 a month on scans 🙄

DobbieFreeElf · 13/10/2019 12:23

Haha @Goingbacktokansascity I’m one cd ahead of you and hadn’t noticed!

So having messed up the clomid pills, and having had a low reading on my CB dual hormone opk the last 4 days, I forgot when I woke up to do a test so only just needed a wee again and did it and it’s a solid smiley (Peak)... so no high just straight to peak... very odd. I looked at the ejected stick and the line is doubly as dark as the control line so defo an LH surge...

I certainly had all the signs it was coming and I’m aching and feel quite ill (which I did last cycle)

We’ve been BD every third day as we have been advised to (including last night) so we’ll get jiggy again tonight and tomorrow and see what happens!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Goingbacktokansascity · 13/10/2019 13:05

@dobbiefreeelf I decided today to pee on a stick because fuck it and I’ve definitely got a positive OPK today too. Gonna buy an electronic one from boots as I’m out in pizza express. I bought £100 of pizza express vouchers from Costco for Christmas presents then found it it’s likely going into administration before then 😂😂😂 so if carbs are bad for PCOS I’m fucked this weekend.

DobbieFreeElf · 13/10/2019 14:33

We had pizza express yesterday as they sent me a “free bottle of Prosecco” for my birthday and I thought it was a good way to kill my hangover! So if drinking is bad for conception then I’ll jump on the “fucked it” train! Oh well nothing to do now than have a couple more days BDing and see what happens in a couple of weeks!

Goingbacktokansascity · 13/10/2019 18:26

Two OPK Done today, one this morn and one this evening. Do we all agree they’re peak and I’m not bonkers? TIA.

LaurenN23 · 13/10/2019 18:55

@Goingbacktokansascity definitely peaks! Congrats!

CharlotteCx · 13/10/2019 18:56

@Goingbacktokansascity yes they are peaks, are you taking Clomid?

Goingbacktokansascity · 13/10/2019 19:04

Thanks guys buzzing and hoping lining is thick enough. It’s bonkers how for most people ovulation is a given, but for us we get so excited about that even happening even though the chance of conception with ovulation is still only 20% 😓 I’m on letrozole, clomid didn’t work for me!

Goingbacktokansascity · 13/10/2019 19:05

I’ve never had a peak before even the month I definitely ovulated (because I got pregnant)

seven201 · 13/10/2019 19:28

Well some @Goingbacktokansascity and @DobbieFreeElf for your positive opks!

I've finished reading it starts with the egg. It's really interesting and although it's kind of more aimed at people nearing the ivf road, it also has quite a bit on pcos throughout the book. It's all backed up with evidence from medical studies (eg there's one supplement mentioned that when taken alongside clomid offers better success rates - can't remember the name of it), not just made up crap! I've now ordered loads of supplements (some cheap, some definitely not!) for me and my husband. Now I need to sort out my diet - I've ordered a Mediterranean cook book! I do recommend buying it - you can take or leave what you want from it.

I'm cd 11 with no sign of ovulation being near yet. Should probably start sex season again but I really can't be bothered! My dd was ill with a nasty bug last week so sleep has been very minimal!

Goingbacktokansascity · 13/10/2019 19:33

@seven201 I feel you about the no sleep. Trying to get DS into his own room and he’s winning. I’m reading a no cry sleep training book but I think the only difference is I’m crying at 3am not him 😂 I’m going to try super hard to spice things up in the bedroom this month before we both end up hating sex for being monotonous, but when you’re doing it every night you just sort of want it over 😂

Chichz · 13/10/2019 19:44

@seven201 sex season!! Grin Love it.

Congratulations @DobbieFreeElf and @Goingbacktokansascity - great to see Clomid working it's magic again. So true that it's the same things with us ladies. X

Chichz · 13/10/2019 19:45

small things that was.

We haven't done it for a week - hubby way too ill! If this happens during IVF he's just going to have to lump it!

CharlotteCx · 13/10/2019 19:52

@Chichz frustrating when their ill or just don't want it when the time is crucial 😰 .. really stresses me out. My CB opk is flashing atm has been since Friday! We dtd last night but oh has been called out at work. 😑 suppose once is better than nothing.

Chichz · 13/10/2019 19:56

@CharlotteCx Once is all it takes Wink x

CharlotteCx · 13/10/2019 19:59

@Chichz I know. But I haven't even got my static smiley yet so god noes when I'll ovulate. I've got a feeling 50mg is guna keep making my body gear up for ovulation but then not actually ovulate. If that's the case il have to ask gyno to increase dosage. X

Chichz · 13/10/2019 20:06

It's that what flashing smiley means? I've never used an OPK. Got some cheap ones ready to start with though!

I have heard that 2-3 months is normal for Clomid to work properly so I wouldn't worry too much yet. Smile Easier said than done though, I know! X

seven201 · 13/10/2019 20:16

@CharlotteCx you may have already ovulated but the stick just not showing it. It's quite common for that to happen. When do you get your 21 day blood test results?

seven201 · 13/10/2019 20:19

@Chichz so annoying when someone is too ill at the crucial time!

The month I did fall pregnant, over 18 months ago now, we only had sex once as my dh was ill at the lead up to ovulation, then me straight after. Maybe we should go back to the sex once a month approach!
