@Marmite83 sorry you're still in the limbo phase. So shitty. I hope your cycles regulate soon for you. How are you feeling about it all?

I'm ok. I've booked a consultation at my local ivf clinic for next month to get the process started.

BelleSausage · 07/10/2019 15:03

@DobbieFreeElf

That sounds like a much more sensible way! Am going to work on DH tonight to see if he’ll agree to at least doing some tests privately.

Thanks for all the support.

Marmite83 · 07/10/2019 15:03

@seven201, for the most part I feel ok. Just frustrated with all the waiting but that's a big part of ttc, you'd think I'd be used to it by now! Just want af to turn up sooner rather than later really so we can get on with the FET. How are you feeling about IVF? I actually felt quite positive after our initial consultation with our clinic.

DobbieFreeElf · 07/10/2019 16:38

@Goingbacktokansascity balls! That’s exactly what I did, I’m hoping that it just might move everything forward by a day or two but I’m worried it will mean less lining to implant in. Nothing to do now but wait and see. I meant to start peeing on my CB dual opk this morning but woke up needing to pee so badly I forgot that too!

@BelleSausage how connected are your hospital and GP? I was thinking about phoning my GP and booking a progesterone test “requested by the consultant” and if they ask for paperwork just day they must have forgotten to give it to me... cheeky but might be worth trying!

@seven201 @Marmite83 I feel like I won’t be far behind on the ivf train but I have to wait til the new year, I know i’ll feel like I’m actually doing something when I get there... good luck xx

Goingbacktokansascity · 07/10/2019 18:26

@DobbieFreeElf exactly my thinking about lining not being thick enough but who knows, atleast I’ve learnt my Lesson about properly waiting until proper flow

seven201 · 07/10/2019 19:22

@Goingbacktokansascity and @DobbieFreeElf don't be too hard on yourselves. We've all done things we regret in our ttc journeys. Everyone is different too so people react to the meds differently anyway. Might not matter at all!

@Marmite83 I'm glad you're doing alright. Hopefully not too much longer to wait then. Such a long process! How many eggs have you got in the freezer?

I can't decide how I feel about the ivf. I'm more stressed about juggling it around work and life than I am about the actual procedures etc. Which is a bit silly! Was stressed last night but feel better today now I've booked the consultation in. I was surprised it's over a month wait just to get the consultation appointment! I have booked in a look round for next Friday though so I think that's helped me to feel like I'm doing 'something'!

Goingbacktokansascity · 07/10/2019 19:28

@seven201 🤞🏽. I also know what you feel about being stressed about the logistics of IVF rather than the actual IVF, when I was about to do it last time that was my biggest concern was telling work which seems so petty now 🙄

DobbieFreeElf · 07/10/2019 20:10

Thanks @seven201 annoying but done now, what will be will be!

We’re lucky, in a way, if it comes to that as we work for ourselves, means that we will be able to fit work around treatment rather than the other way around! Also has its downsides, like not being able to temper my emotions before seeing DH when AF drops in in the middle of the day!

All baby steps in the right direction, excuse the pun!!!

doomkittycleo · 07/10/2019 21:46

@seven201 I agree with @Marmite83, I felt positive once we’d started the ball rolling re IVF, (although during the down regulation phase it still feels like a theoretical plan, rather than real).

I guess it’ll feel more real once we start the stimulation drugs and going for regular scans.

I hope it goes well for you, you’ll have to let us know how it goes.

@Marmite83, sorry you’re still in limbo. I’m sure af will be along soon, but I agree about all the waiting. It seems never ending at every stage of TTC.

Then even if you do get your BFP, there’s still the waiting for the 12 week scan, then the 20 week scan, then your due date (it really is never ending isn’t it 😞).

Does anyone have any interesting hobbies that help pass the time? I don’t get much time for it with DD, but would love to see what everyone else is into.

DobbieFreeElf · 07/10/2019 22:13

@doomkittycleo I’ve just taken up netball again (having not played since school nearly 15 years ago) and I love it! I’m training once a week and playing in a league match once a week too. I also do TRX classes once/ twice a week. I ride a horse for someone too but since the start of the netball season the horse has taken a back seat! Like you say, time with a 2 year old is premium but I have made time for these things as they are mentally and physically beneficial Grin

doomkittycleo · 07/10/2019 22:30

@DobbieFreeElf lol, I wish that the “crucial” element was the reason for my lack of time.

But in reality, I don’t have anyone to watch her for me most of the time. DP’s dad has her when he can, but I try not to rely too heavily on him as he’s the only person we have.

My family are 30 miles away and all work full time (therefore DD doesn’t really have a relationship with them either). We only see them on Birthdays/Christmas usually.

Plus DP (although he works from home a lot), often works away overnight and at short notice, so I can’t commit to anything regular in the evening as I never know when he’s going to be here or not.

I did do sweaty mamas (look it up if you don’t know what it is). But am taking a break whilst we’re doing IVF as it was a bit of a trek in the middle of the day and has often clashed with appointments.

I should probably try and get back to buggyfit when DD recovers from her impetigo.

Marmite83 · 08/10/2019 08:43

Hope your daughter recovers soon @doomkittycleo, it's so hard when they're I'll. I don't have any hobbies really, I go to Clubbercise most weeks and my dh plays squash quite a bit so we don't have much time for anything else. We're going to see Joker at the cinema tonight with friends so I'm looking forward to that.

@seven201 I told my manager we were doing IVF and he was very understanding which really took the pressure off. I just worked around appointments and made sure I got everything done. Do you get on well with your manager?

seven201 · 08/10/2019 08:52

@doomkittycleo I hope your dd recovers soon.

I don't have any social hobbies. I like to knit and sew but often end up flipped in front of the tv after a full day of teaching, dinner, bath, bed for dd. I used to go for evening walks or runs but have lost motivation!

@Marmite83 I'm a secondary teacher with exam classes, so time off is not going to be easy! I'm going to tell my head next month after my consultation. I don't know what she'll be like. She scares me but hopefully she'll be accommodating but annoyed on the inside. The clinic I have to use (as close to work!) is 9-5 mon-fri only so not like I can go before or after school.

At the weekend I learnt that Facebook and google pay for their employees to have 'the best' ivf for free with any appointment time they need!

Marmite83 · 08/10/2019 09:03

@seven201 guess were in the wrong jobs. Might have to see if they have any jobs going!

CharlotteCx · 08/10/2019 18:25

Hi ladies, wonder if you could shed some light for me. So I got my static smiley on Friday on CB digi opk. And I done cheapy opks all Saturday and Sunday and they were all positive. Yesterday they turned neg. I have been doing my bbt but didn't realise you could only use the results your given if you had uninterrupted sleep and slept for more than 3/4 hours. Anyway, I had a dip in my temp yesterday and then it spiked yesterday morning. This morning it's took a huge dip! I don't know weather I'm doing all this wrong or it's had a huge dip because I'm currently filled with a cold virus. But my CM was watery all weekend, my ovary area was so tender which seems to have worn off today. I'll attach a picture to see if anyone can give any advice.

I don't know if we can go by this as I've only been temping since Thursday and Iv not slept the whole night without disturbances whilst temping. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Come on Clomid! Thread 2019 v3
Goingbacktokansascity · 08/10/2019 18:38

@seven201 I think I’ll apply for google and Facebook too 😂 I work for the NHS So you’d think they’d be accommodating but quite the opposite! I know we are overworked underpaid short staffed blah blah but I’m always seen as such a huge inconvenience if I take time off!

seven201 · 08/10/2019 18:47

@Marmite83 I'll spend tonight making a new cv

@CharlotteCx I think your cold is kicking things up and you don't have enough data. Also, please remember an opk going positive just means your body is preparing to ovulate, it doesn't mean it succeeded, so maybe will try again later.

Anyone read it starts with the egg? I've been putting off buying it but finally did it! Had a bit of a look last night. Seems quite a commitment to do all the things!

CharlotteCx · 08/10/2019 18:52

@seven201 I felt the illness coming yesterday cause my head was pounding all day - and today boy do I feel rough!!! It's got worse as the days gone on 😩 ... yes I know that the opk just reads the LH surge but I had pains in my ovarys and my CM was very very watery. Hoping I did ovulate 🤞🏻 do you do bbt charting?

No I've never seen that?? What is it?

seven201 · 08/10/2019 18:53

@Goingbacktokansascity that's rubbish that the nhs is crap in that way. I wonder why there aren't enough teachers and nhs workers Grin?

seven201 · 08/10/2019 19:02

@CharlotteCx you probably did then.

I do chart but my dd sometimes gets up lots in the night, so not always reliable.

It starts with the egg is a fertility book that's often recommended. It's about changes to make to help egg quality to improve chances of conceiving and staying pregnant.

DobbieFreeElf · 08/10/2019 19:47

@doomkittycleo that is tricky, I’m lucky that DH’s office is at home so even when he’s working late he’s here. I still have to “book in” my time out of the house though! How is it a man wants to pop out and they can just leave, yet women need to plan and organise child care (even if it is just the hubby)?! How’s your DD?

@Marmite83 I’m so jealous! Haven’t been to the cinema in forever!

Let us know how the chat goes @seven201 hopefully she’s understanding and accommodating.

Haven’t read it starts with the egg, I’m not sure I feel like I can take on any more information or instructions of what to do, I already feel bad when I have a sugary treat (as the sugar spikes are bad), don’t exercise enough, exercise too much, forget my preconception vitamins, mess up my meds, put on a pound, drink a glass of wine (or a bottle)... etc... not sure I need to add more things to worry about Grin

How is it some people become moms just look at a man and yet we’re here considering every little action and the probable consequences Hmm

seven201 · 08/10/2019 20:32

@DobbieFreeElf that's exactly why I haven't bought it until now! I'm reading it with assumption that I won't do most of it. I know I'd be miserable if I have to give up all the things listed. The CoQ10 supplement (seen mentioned on the infertility boards before too) I think I'm going to go for. Meant to help egg quality a lot but expensive. I've only flicked around the book, not read it properly yet.

CharlotteCx · 08/10/2019 20:45

@seven201 hopefully. I had all the symptoms of ov.

I find temping quite annoying, I know if you do it right and follow the instructions to a T it's really interesting and very accurate but I always get up for a wee in the night etc etc an so I don't think it's going to work for me. Did you see the drop my chart give me this morning? I mean what the hell is huge! Is that even normal? Cos even if you don't conceive in that cycle your temp normally drops a few days before AF and I'm not due on for a while yet!

Ohhh okay! Where can I find that, is it a book?

CharlotteCx · 08/10/2019 20:48

@DobbieFreeElf I get what you mean by some lady's only have to look @ their man to get pregnant. Literally ALL of my friends have children accept for me. And some of them fell on one night stands! Then there's me that's been with my OH for 12 years and is really struggling. Not fair.

doomkittycleo · 08/10/2019 20:59

@DobbieFreeElf that’s the same as our set up (most of the time). DP’s office is at home too.

He’s a self employed electrical engineer and does call outs up and down the country.

When he’s doing admin he’s here, but the call outs are often at bakery’s and they need him urgently.

He’s the same, he’s willing to have DD, but I have to plan it in (his response every time I ask is, have a look on the calendar, if I’m free I’ll do it, but make sure you write it on).

But I’m a SAHM and many of my friends are working, so planning a social life is tricky as our schedules never line up.

DD is doing a bit better (although still all scabby). We had a crisis this morning as the Dr had changed her antibiotics because she wouldn’t take them and prescribed the adult dose (so we had given her 4 times what she should have, twice before we realised).

Spent the morning in A and E. Luckily the Dr we saw said it wasn’t a toxic dose and just to reduce it to the correct dose when it was next due. But rather stressful. At least she’s sleeping now.

By tomorrow evening she should be no longer contagious, so I’m planning a “deep clean” of the house to prevent it from spreading.

Can’t be catching it from her right before the next stage of my IVF cycle.
