HELP! So spotting started yesterday morning and emptied my cup before bed which had a light period bleed in it, assumed this was day 1 period. Woke up later than normal this morning and (because I assumed it is cd2) took a clomid pill straight away. Went to the loo to empty cup an hour or so later and it’s empty!

I think I’ve taken the clomid too early Confused been panicking since.

What do I do?

I haven’t eaten yet... Should I try making myself sick??

Marmite83 · 29/09/2019 11:21

@DobbieFreeElf I had a similar situation a few months ago and it totally freaked me out. I think after an hour the Clomid pill will be gone so probably no point trying to make yourself sick. Do you have any tests at home? I'd suggest you poas. If it's negative there's no issue and it's just a very light period (which is what Clomid did to me each cycle). If it's positive like mine was that time (very faint but was definitely there) then don't take anymore Clomid and ring your consultant in the morning. Mine was either some dodgy tests (very faint line for about 4 days) or a cp. I'll never know which but my consultant told me to stop taking Clomid in case it was a viable pregnancy. I did lots of Googling when it happened to me and there were quite a few women who'd had the same and gone on to have a healthy baby at the end of it so try not to panic if the test is positive (I know it's hard).

DobbieFreeElf · 29/09/2019 11:41

Thanks @Marmite83, I’m 99% sure I’m not pregnant, definitely do t have any early symptoms but I will try a test later to be sure. If it’s a BFN do you think I should carry on with the next 4 pills or stop? Feeling like I’ve screwed up this month already and it’s only just started!

Rinoa · 29/09/2019 11:43

Thank you all. I still can't believe it. Hasn't sunk in yet lol I hope these next few months go by well. Appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from you all, you've kept me sane!

Marmite83 · 29/09/2019 12:28

If it's a bfn @DobbieFreeElf I would probably continue with the Clomid as I would assume it just made my AF much lighter but it's up to you. If you think it would worry you then stop and wait for next cycle.

AmyMaria2 · 29/09/2019 12:47

@Rinoa congratulations so happy for you!! I had a feeling you'd get a bfp as your bloods were so good, mine were lower than yours when I got my bfp!!😂 good luck hope you have a good pregnancy xx

Rinoa · 29/09/2019 13:53

Thank you ! @AmyMaria2 I'm feeling dull cramping is that normal? I thought it was but after telling me mom she freaked me out said I shouldn't be ☹️ good thing is that I'm not bleeding just feel the pains. She also said that I shouldn't walk up stairs (we live in top Flat attic). Maybe a Hispanic old wives tale but now she's making me worried lol I know she means well

seven201 · 29/09/2019 14:12

@Rinoa cramping and feeling your period is about to arrive is totally normal. When I was pregnant with my dd I didn't know for a week as I was utterly convinced my period was about to arrive. I'm sure you're fine to walk up stairs too!

DobbieFreeElf · 29/09/2019 14:20

@Rinoa that’s complete rubbish about walking up stairs. You can carry on as normal. With my first I carried on jumping my horse both at home and in competitions over 1.20m jumps until 6 months gone and only stopped when the horse got an injury (still convinced this was DH!)! I had a fall at 5weeks and I wasn’t going to tell my mum but she was there and I panicked, she said that little bean is so small and so well insulated in there it would have caused no problem, and it didn’t!

Rinoa · 29/09/2019 14:24

Oh thank you girls for that feedback! 😅 bit more relieved now. I admit my mom can be over the top but not like I can teleport up there 😂

Gonna give the doc a call tomorrow to ask what is next, geez this is so new !

CharlotteCx · 29/09/2019 15:31

Hi ladies,

I'm new to this forum.

Wondering if any of yous can help me Smile

I am 26 years old, so is my partner we have been together 12 years. When I was 16-18 I was on the contraceptive injection. It was after that that all hell broke lose with my periods and I generally believe that is what has caused me to have PCOS. My gynaecologist agrees. We have not used contraception since we was 18, but have never consciously ttc but have never fallen pregnant.
This year in May we decided we wanted a family so started to Ttc, I have 33/36 day cycles but sometimes have a massive jump to a 55 day cycle and then it'll go back to 33/36.

I have been on metformin since last July 1000mg which did really help regulate my periods. My gyno increased the dosage in August this year to 1500mg. After that my period was 2 weeks late so a 55 day cycle.

Anyway the past two progesterone blood tests have confirmed no ovulation. I ovulate irregularly so sometimes I do sometimes I don't. My OH has had his semen test and he is ok.

My gyno decided to put me on Clomid 2-6, this is my first cycle. I finished my last tablet last night, we dtd last night and will continue to dtd every other day until my expected fertile week is over. I have ordered a basal thermometer and have my ovulation tests ready & waiting although I've heard OV tests with women with pcos aren't as accurate.

When am I most likely to ovulate please? Because my app says my fertile week starts on 11th October through to 16th October but google says Clomid makes most women ovulate 5-12 days after the last pill so I'm so confused. Also since yesterday my ovarie area feels tender, not in any way hurts and causing me pain but just feels sensitive and tight round there and is uncomfortable if I bend down. Hopefully this is a good sign?

Sorry for the long essay, hope someone can shed some light. Thank you Biscuit

Rinoa · 29/09/2019 15:54

@CharlotteCx Welcome! I also did Clomid CD2-6. My usually cycle days due to pcos we're around 36-52 days. I had the same question for the doctor about when I would ovulate since my cycles are long. She said once on Clomid it's meant to "regulate" that cycle. they also monitored my follicles on CD9 and cd11 then I got my first positive opk on cd13. They count next day after first positive as ovulation day. So 1st DPO was cd 15.

CharlotteCx · 29/09/2019 16:28

Every month I do usually have a 33/36 day cycle but I completely missed out August and then come on right at the end of sept! So you ovulated early then if you have longer cycles? As women with regular 28 day cycles usually ovulate around the 14 day mark don't they.

Did you dtd every day or every other day all month or just in fertile window? I feel like doing it every other day all through the month will get quite stressful, only because sex becomes just obsessing about getting pregnant and not actually for pleasure when you want a baby so much! Are you on a Clomid cycle now, what happened after you tested positive for ovulation? Xx

Rinoa · 29/09/2019 17:00

Well technically I ovulated in CD14 this time as doc said to not count first day I get a positive opk as you generally ovulate during the first positive r for the next 48 hours or so I think.

We dtd every other day and everyday during the fertile window. Admittedly I did notice it put us under pressure as it felt more mechanical than love making lol terrible I know but we did try to keep the Romance.

Today is 13DPO and I got a positive pregnancy test 😁

CharlotteCx · 29/09/2019 18:03

It's hard work isn't it! Then I worry that my boyfriend won't be able to finish because he feels under pressure 😩

Ahhh congratulations hun! What cycle was this? And what mg? Was you temping or just using opks? Did you start having sex when your period finished? We did last night, just guna do every other day until the end of the month I think. That way if Clomid does make me ovulate I defiantly won't miss it.

CharlotteCx · 29/09/2019 18:04

And sorry was it you that had 33 day cycles? Cos if it is that's early to ovulate in a 33 day cycle isn't it. So do Clomid make you ovulate as though you'd have a 28 day cycle as you ovulated day 14/15? X

Goingbacktokansascity · 29/09/2019 18:48

@CharlotteCx
I had 28 day cycles on letrozole, when I got pregnant which was the first month of ovulation, it was day 19 I ovulated, so quite late and because of that day 21 bloods said I hadn’t ovulated, but day 28 bloods were through the roof

CharlotteCx · 29/09/2019 19:07

Yes but if you ovulated on day 19 then you still would of have a 9 day luteal phase which is considered 'normal'. I have to have day 21 & 28 bloods this month to cos I have a longer cycle so sometimes day 21 is too early.

Rinoa · 29/09/2019 19:17

That's odd I definitely had 28 day cycle on Clomid, normally I had a sporadic cycle but with Clomid it was normal

Smiley1983 · 29/09/2019 19:27

Hi guys....

So I am new to this thing, but thought I would give it ago.

I am 36 years old and currently trying to conceive baby #2. We have been trying for 2 years now.

So when we trying to conceive my son, we tried for a year and a half.

We went to the doctors and after a few blood tests, we found out I didnt ovulate every month and had high LH levels, they suspected I had PCOS....

We thought it would never happen....

And luckily 2 months later we found out I was pregnant.
After I had my little boy they told me I didnt have PCOS.

So we thought TTC #2 would be easier and happen quicker...

Again after going back to the doctors again, I still dont ovulate every month and have high levels of LH and estrogen.

I am back at the doctors on Thursday to discuss the next step for us....

Which looks like it could be Clomid...

Could anyone tell me how long it takes after seeing the doctor to be prescribed Clomid and anything about it.

Hopefully everyone gets a BFP soon xxx

Jemstar33 · 29/09/2019 19:34

@Rinoa congratulations I’m so happy for you! Xx

Hope everyone is doing good

CharlotteCx · 29/09/2019 20:10

@Rinoa what cycle of Clomid are you on now?

Rinoa · 29/09/2019 20:31

Finished one round. I got a positive pregnancy test today

BinkyB4 · 29/09/2019 21:14

@DobbieFreeElf I’ve had exactly the same this cycle....one proper day of bleeding, started my clomid and then nothing.....I’ve never had such a light period before🤷🏼‍♀️
I did a pregnancy test on Friday and it was negative so I’ve just carried on with the clomid but I’m just not happy about how things are going at th hospital where I am currently so going to ring another clinic tomorrow.....☹️

CharlotteCx · 29/09/2019 22:04

@Rinoa that's amazing news! Sorry only joined this forum today so trying to get used to it.

I read your earlier posts that you were on the 2-6 protocol like me, was that 50mg?

I see you said your dr said that you'd ovulate around the time you would with a 28 day cycle. Do you think that'll be the same for me? I'm 33/36 days naturally so abit like you. When did you start dtd, straight after finishing period? And when did you start testing for ovulation? I finished my period yday and dtd last night, I done a ovulation test yesterday I know I sound mental cos I only come off my period yesterday and took my last pill but am so scared I'm going to miss ovulation Confused
