IVF buddies wanted Sept/Oct 2019

I start down regging next week on long protocol IVF. EC scheduled week of 14/10.
Would be great to buddy up with anyone on similar timelines x

Hey, does anyone happen to know what size is the smallest follicles can be at trigger, also if they are too small at the proposed trigger date will they keep me stimming for longer? I had a 7 day scan yesterday and I was measuring small at 4-6mm so they've upped my dose to 450 menopur- but I just don't see how I can get to 18mm by Friday, I don't know whether I'll have to quit this cycle, if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate them! x

@WorriedButterfly , my consultant was going to to egg collection Thursday but folicols measured 14.5 this morning. He told me min of 15 before trigger, so not sure if this helps you

@WorriedButterfly, also he told me in 150 stimm they can grow like 2mm a day, so 450 they may get big

@WorriedButterfly sorry I'm not sure what the minimum is. Hopefully all is good for Friday though and if not, maybe longer stim period in bigger dose.

On that subject, last time I did IVF I was put on 3 vials of Menopur for a few days and quickly reduced to 2, as my bloods were crazy high, then actually took off it for a day or 2 before EC as my levels were 6000+ (I think it's FSH they test for?)...anyway, I start stimming tomorrow and they've put me on 4 vials a day till first blood test on Monday. Hope I don't hyperstimulate again due to the whopping dose! X

@worriedbutterfly how did you get on on Friday?

I had my baseline scan on Wednesday which was traumatic because it was the same procedure in the same room as the scan I had when they told me about my MMC.

But all being well, I should get to do my FET a week this Wednesday. 🤞

@Thund4rcat unfortunately not very well. I'm down to one follie...I'm carrying on til Monday. It is just so hard going from pregnant in May to what looks like the end of the road now. Lots of soul searching needed. Thanks for checking in. Glad things are progressing for you x

I’m not on day 15. I’m hoping to they will ring me and I can trigger tonight. From yesterday’s scan I have 26 mature follicles and 16+ smaller ones that might be big enough. My ovaries are so swollen that they touch, but my lining is 6.9mm not 7mm So they wanted an extra day. I’m feeling very uncomfortable!
Pretty certain it will now be a freeze all. Fingers crossed they don’t make me go another day.

How are we all getting on ladies?

I won't sugar coat things; I'm pissed off and grumpy. On day 7 stims. Had hoped for EC tomorrow at best, or at worst Monday.
Hospital haven't even scanned for follicle growth since baseline. Just blood tests (which sound like I'm responding well when I google good Estradiol levels?) More bloods tomorrow but no scan of follicle growth; they won't even commit to that on Monday either. All the more annoying when I'm paying for treatment and feel like they can't be arsed or don't have the time to do things 😕
I'm on 450 IU of Menopur which sounds like the absolute maximum dose from what I read...the headaches, bloating and mood swings are grim! Urrrrrrr x

@PixiePal have they given you a reason for not scanning? Should they be scanning? I’m not sure how it works. I hate hormonal headaches they’re the worst!
I had my ec Wednesday got 8 from 30 + follicles so was disappointed, 7 have fertilised so just waiting now. But wow I was poorly Wednesday and Thursday I didn’t expect to feel like that finally a bit better today.

@C88M how are you doing? I bet you were poorly as well, after having so many follicles and your ovaries touching on the scan! Are you having fresh or frozen transfer?

I have my first scan tomorrow, which will be day 12 of Menopur. I've had 450 IU for over a week now. Like you, I'm really uncomfortable and think I could be mega-stimulated. I look 7 month pregnant already!

@C88M how have your embryos got on? 7 fertilised is pretty good, but I can see how you'd be disappointed going from 30 follicles. Do you have your transfer tomorrow? One or two?

I have my FET booked for Friday. I've been very emotional as it's my third transfer.

Also I've been really crampy today, I suppose from oestrogen pills I am taking, I don't know.

The drugs won't help, hormones have a lot to answer for, then coupled with the stress ☹️ With any luck I'll have a fresh transfer on Friday or next Monday- so we can support each other through the excruciating 2WW. Hi ladies, had egg collection today. 29 eggs collected but also high blood pressure / OHSS so we're having to freeze all. I'm not surprised as I'd been absolutely mad with rage with the most ridiculous bloating etc. It's just frustrating - always one step forward, two back with me. Fingers crossed for all.

@testingtesting111 congrats on your 29 eggs! Hope you recover well from EC- did they give you any tips to reduce the worsening OHSS following EC? I've read lots of helpful advice on line!
Of interest, how did they diagnose OHSS? My Estradiol levels are really high and I'm soooo bloated too. Wondering how they'll determine if I do or don't have it?

@Thund4rcat my little embryos are all still going can’t believe it. Had one transferred today and two frozen and will hear about the rest tomorrow.
I’m so bloated though i don’t think I can fit in any clothes!!

Hi @PixiePal thanks. I'm very uncomfortable and have been given extra medication to hopefully help settle things.

They concluded ohss based on culmination of bloods, scans (every other day) what they saw today, number of eggs etc. I've also had shall we say a very upset stomach which is also an indicator 😫. Also the bloating I have had has been extreme - I've seriously looked 9 months pregnant all week with the most god awful trapped wind. I've been given an appt in a few days time for another scan and I'm reading up in the meantime!!

Pleased re numbers, keeping fingers crossed re fertilisation and quality as although I ended up with 5 last time all we're chromosomally abnormal and had to be destroyed.

How are you getting on?

@C88M fingers crossed for you and positive that you have some to freeze! Will you wait a full 2 weeks to test, or sooner?

@testingtesting111 Hope you get some ease soon! Best that they get everything settled and you're well before a transfer. At least you've passed that hurdle I suppose, although of cause you'll be disappointed with delay 😕

I had scan today. Was plenty of mature folliculs and Estradiol +15,000. Trigger tonight. EC Wednesday xxx

@PixiePal I’ll try and wait the two weeks but I’m not very patient! I’m back at work tomorrow so hoping I feel better I’ve really not enjoyed this last few days since EC! Hopefully be worth it...

We’ve had the news that one more made it to freeze so 4 from 8, I’m so happy it really is a rollercoaster! So 1 fresh, 2 day 5 and 1 day frozen.

TMI but does anyone have any ivf (progesterone) constipation tips. I’ve got latalose and upped my fruit inc prunes (which are vile) but I’m struggling and with my ovaries still being swollen ouch!!

@C88M that's fantastic news! Really pleased you have some good quality freezables! Amazing numbers for 8 at EC. Hopefully you'll never have to stim again!!
I've heard Movicol is really good for progesterone constipation. As with Lactulose, it does take a few days to work though apparently.
