Hi I would like to join. I've had one failed round of IVF/ICSI and am now on a second round with FET due to take place 5 October. I'm 39 and had 6 blastocysts from this cycle (1st cycle I didn't get any!).
Good luck to everyone doing IVF, it's a bit of a rollercoaster isn't it?!

jemimafuddleduck · 21/09/2019 07:38

@StillHoping27 I'm so sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle, how frustrating for you. You must be gutted 😢

@testingtesting111 what a time you've had. I don't blame you for taking the time off (although I haven't been able to, I've just felt like I have to get on with the next cycle as quickly as possible).

I'm 5 days into Progynova and am having a scan today to check my lining. Fingers crossed it's all ok as I have previously had thin linings.

We are using donor eggs so I think our donor will be having her egg collection in the next week or so!

jemimafuddleduck · 21/09/2019 07:39

@rosea19 - wow 6 embryos is amazing!!!
This is my 4th transfer so I know how crushing the disappointment can be.
Our transfer is on 7th October so not far behind you at all!

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 21/09/2019 08:50

Hi can I join currently taking buserelin and started progynova yesterday for my 2nd fet! Had s freeze all after ec last time due to being high risk for ohss! 1st fet resulted in bfp but sadly ended st 5 weeks! I think transfer will be the 2nd of Oct! I have s scsn next Thursday to see how lining is getting on!

PixiePal · 21/09/2019 11:15

@testingtesting111 wow, sounds like you've had rough ride. No wonder you wanted time out. Let's hope the time to de-stress from it all helps for this time around.

I had a successful IVF cycle in 2014. I was incredibly lucky. I'm slightly nervous about that though and have to keep reminding myself I was 'lucky'. It's easy to think because it worked before it will again,😌; but I'm 5 years older now and on the wrong side of 35, with really low FSH and AMH. Xx

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF sorry to hear about your bad news at 5 weeks. I remember thinking last time, that I'd sooner get a BFN when testing, than a BFP then loose. It must have been really difficult. On a positive note though, it's a great sign that things progressed for you that far, given ALL of the milestones we have to pass to get to that point xxx

@worriedbutterfly Hi, I remember you from our last cycle. Sorry to hear about your MMC. I also had a MMC at 8.5 weeks after 3 weeks of hyperemesis which was pretty horrific. That scan was one of the most traumatising things I've ever experienced.

I just started buserelin today, for a FET expected to take place mid October. Second cycle, third transfer.

We have MFI so did ICSI. We have a total of 5 frozen embryos from two fresh cycles and this is the last transfer we get on the NHS. After this if it doesn't work we have to pay.

I also have endometriosis and adenomyosis which was only diagnosed in January after our first cycle, but was told by the surgeon it won't affect our chances, which I don't really believe based on other things I read.

If I am lucky to get pregnant again I now have 80% chance of getting hyperemesis again so I'm pretty terrified of any result.

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 22/09/2019 07:58

@PixiePal thankyou! It was tough but we tried to think of it as this was the furthest we had ever got! It was difficult and it has made me more anxious about this fet!

Alon789 · 22/09/2019 10:58

Hello,

We have received this morning the results of the embryo development (day 3) and things are looking a bit better than what we expected after the day 1 results.

2x8 cells
1x9
1x10
1x5
and 1xM

We are wondering what does M stands for, as we cant find anything about it online. Also, what do you think are the chances of the 9, 10 and 5 cells embryos?

Any input will be highly appreciated :)

Thanks a lot and have a great Sunday!

PixiePal · 22/09/2019 11:09

@Alon789 Sorry, I'm not sure. When I did my last cycle they were graded A-D and 1-6. Sounds like a different grading system? Hope them little embryo's continue to develop nicely for you xxx

Alon789 · 22/09/2019 11:24

@PixiePal - Thanks for the reply :) Yes, its all a bit confusing but we hope for good. As far as we understood, anything between 6-10 is reasonable for day 3, so we some little ones with survive to days 5.

Alexis13 · 22/09/2019 11:30

Hi ladies,
Can I please join in :)
Started my menopur injections last sat and added cetrotide thurs evening.
Booked in for a scan and bloods Monday and hopefully this will be my trigger day with EC weds.
Both my tubes were blocked and had them removed last December!

PixiePal · 22/09/2019 11:43

@Alexis13 welcome! Fingers crossed for you this week! Do keep us updated on how your tests go tomorrow xx

FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF · 22/09/2019 13:23

@Alon789 I think the 9 and 10 ones will be fine I had some like that too I believe! I think the 8 cell one is how they like them to be on day 3 if I remember correctly from what my clinic said! Not sir what m is though x

testingtesting111 · 22/09/2019 15:04

Hi @jemimafuddleduck thanks. I know what you mean. After we lost our little girl I was desperate to push forward and get pregnant again ASAP. But when things didn't end well I had to take a step back to save myself in the log run. Although we're doing a fresh round now, I have a sneaky suspicion that we will progress to donor eggs. I have my fingers crossed for you. How did your scan go.

Thanks @PixiePal . Definitely working on de-stressing and finding acupuncture has / continues to be quite helpful. Really hope this round goes well for you.

I'm on day 2 of the norethisterone. Good luck everyone.

Alon789 · 22/09/2019 15:05

@FinallytakingtheplungewithIVF - Well, we hope that the M stands for Morula (the stage before blstocyst) but we will check with the clinic tomorrow :) and yeah, we will keep our fingers crossed for the 9 and 10 ones, as we understood that they are still within the normal range.

HappyParent2000 · 22/09/2019 17:00

Ouch, none of our 4 eggs survived to screening.

Self funded so our amazing journey ends here.

It’s a quiet night in the house, lots of reflection and grieving for our amazing eggs, they did well but it wasn’t to be.

Partner is amazing too, need each other close and hugging our child that bit tighter tonight too.

WorriedButterfly · 22/09/2019 17:18

Hi @Thund4rcat - so sorry you had such a rough ride, I can sympathise re the scan - it was truly awful. Glad (not really, but you know what I mean) to see you back here, I started norethisterone on Thursday - hopefully start stims on 1st Oct. I've been really snappy to my DH for the last couple of days, not sure if it's the tablets of just the stress of it all! X

Alon789 · 22/09/2019 18:24

Also, one quick question. We would like to do a PGS test on 1-2 of the embryos. Does anyone know what is the procedure for the PGS testing? are they doing it directly on day 5 and then we need to wait some time for the results?

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 22/09/2019 18:31

@Alon789
I'm PGS testing on this next cycle - process depends on the embryologist - some do assisted hatching in day 3 and then biopsy day 5 some do it all on day 5 once they know what has made it to blast stage as you don't want to test lots of embryos that wouldn't have made it to blastocyst stage

Results take about 3-4 weeks to arrive. Legally in the UK clinics won't transfer any that come back abnormal but most will transfer some that come back with mosaicism x

MissHoney85 · 22/09/2019 19:06

Hi all! I'm waiting for my Initial Consultation on 1st October. Feels like it's taken forever to get to this point, so I'm kind of excited to get started and start jabbing myself with needles. Does anyone know roughly how long it will take to get to egg collection? Obv depends on short or long protocol but I was wondering whether I will have to wait for a particular point in my cycle (I will be on day 14 on the day of my consultation) or of things are likely to start right away. I'm so fed up of waiting! Have already had blood tests and Antral Follicle Count done in preparation.

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 22/09/2019 19:18

@MissHoney85
I do short protocol as it's much quicker and less stressful! I started day 2 of cycle and then egg collection is tomorrow which is cycle day 13

Maggie272 · 22/09/2019 20:41

@PixiePal I am doing long protocol, but I'm a bit ahead of you, just had my egg collection. Buserelin - make sure you drink 3 litres of water and rest when you need to xxx

PixiePal · 22/09/2019 22:39

@MissHoney85 I think start time will vary from centre-to-centre / patient-to-patient. If everything is in place to start right away, you still may have to wait on clinic availability (unless you're private). If they suggest long protocol, you'll start injections on day 21. Hope that helps and good luck xx

PixiePal · 22/09/2019 22:41

@Maggie272 thanks xx I'm really thirsty a lot actually and have a rotten cold and feel a bit 'edgy'. Nothing major though.
Hope egg collection went well? Xx
