everyone,
I've started a new thread for people starting treatment this month. I'm hoping to make some new friends with people who understand how hard this journey is. Hopefully we can have some fun whilst getting on with the treatment.
This is my first cycle of ivf/icsi so any treatment buddies please say hello.

@Stacey2007 boobs to get sore with the injections. I used to get bloated whilst on the injections. Best of Luck and enjoy the journey

Maggie272 · 16/09/2019 22:37

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well, i just need help calming down after losing some of my trigger injection....egg collection on wednesday. It looked like there was an air bubble in the syringe, but there wasn't, and I lost about 5 drops, and then some came out of my tummy after I injected. I rang the emergency room number they gave me, and the nurse said I should be fine....has anyone had any experience of this but everything was ok? I've been on meds since the 2nd of August and was so proud of myself for getting to this point, and now I'm afraid I've ruined it....

@maggie272 oh you poor thing. ofcourse you would freak out. there was another lady on a thread saying she snapped the needle and had to put the leftover in another syringe etc i think everything was fine.

please remember the drug is at one dose to fit all! so it's obviously not so specific it just helps.

i really don't think it would cause any issues so try to enjoy the needle free 36 - 48 hours until your collection .. massive hug and please try to get some rest x

Maggie272 · 16/09/2019 22:52

@facevalue you're so lovely, thank you for that really thoughtful and reassuring message. Yes, you're right, it can't be one size fits all. I've just been reading online and 10000 is more than enough, and sometimes they use less. I don't think I lost a lot, so fingers crossed xxx

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 17/09/2019 07:26

@Ayuree
I'm with Create Birmingham and this is my 2nd cycle - last one ended in another ruptured ectopic

I really like short protocol mild ivf - I felt I'd put my body through enough with 5 mc and 2 ectopics 2 tube removals in 2 years plus means start to finish the whole process is over in less than 2 weeks!

HappyParent2000 · 17/09/2019 09:54

Got the call today, 4 fertilised, just have to wait now for the screening to see which can go forward for implantation!

facevalue · 17/09/2019 10:31

@happyparent2000 congratulations that a good number x keeping fingers crossed for you x

drminion · 17/09/2019 20:36

Hello lovely ladies! Hope everything's going well with you, any further news?
@Stacey2007 I never felt sore boobs with my stimm injections, just bloated lower belly
@facevalue thanks for your positive words! I had 5 eggs collected today, now I'm trying to handle anxiety the best I can to find out if the fertilized, I'm terrified!! how are you doing with the waiting? I really hope you have twins too! :)
Hope everyone else is doing well, hang on there, it's a really hard journey but luckily we're not in it alone!!
Big computer hugs!!

Stacey2007 · 17/09/2019 21:01

Really and I haven’t got bloated ness yet 🙉 how did you feel on them though? I feel everyday I’m getting more miserable 😔 getting me down a little

facevalue · 17/09/2019 21:55

@drminion that's an excellent number. fingers crossed they fertilise and give you amazing blasto. The wait for a scan is ok actually. i'm off my usual food. lots of things just don't taste interesting any more and my sense of smell is heightened so everything either stinks or smells amazing. no happy medium.

@Ayuree sorry i noticed i didn't answer your question. i'm down south so no idea what clinics are good up north sorry x but i'm sure the other ladies might be able to give you suggestions x goodluck

@stacey2007 i only got sore boobs when pregnant however they are definitely a side effect if you read the leaflets x

@Maggie272 goodluck for tomorrow - all out of your hands so please try to relax and get some sleep x

Ayuree · 18/09/2019 07:19

@facevalue that's alright! When is your scan? Twins would we amazing!!!!

facevalue · 18/09/2019 10:01

@Ayuree provisionally 2 oct but it might change to 4th if i can't rearrange work x thanks for the wishes x

drminion · 18/09/2019 10:08

Morning ladies! Clinic called to say that 3 fertilized and they suggested to do assisted hatching on them as I'm 41 years old...any experience on this?? Thoughts? Comments? Thank you!!

Vilanelle · 18/09/2019 10:27

@maggie272 oh you poor thing. ofcourse you would freak out. there was another lady on a thread saying she snapped the needle and had to put the leftover in another syringe etc i think everything was fine

That lady was me! D'oh! I was fine and treatment went ahead and I was ovulating. I am 7DPIUI

Vilanelle · 18/09/2019 10:30

I am very bloaty today and yesterday I had a huge dizzy spell and nearly fell over. I am assuming these are side effects from the Cyclogest and it's cruel because it's making me think maybe just maybe I could be pregnant. I hate this waiting!

Maggie272 · 18/09/2019 12:10

@Vilanelle oh thank you! I just had my egg collection and so it was all fine with the trigger. Got 11 eggs. : )

Yorkshirehope · 18/09/2019 12:15

@Vilanelle I agree the waiting is so tough. I am 8 days post ICSI . My issue is no symptoms which is driving me crazy and making me think the worse.

Vilanelle · 18/09/2019 12:18

@Yorkshirehope I think its way too early for symptoms. I am only having them because of the medication I am on xx

facevalue · 18/09/2019 19:48

@Vilanelle hahaha sorry babe . can i blame "baby brain" or is that only after u have a baby 🤣🤣🤣.

@Yorkshirehope 8 days post icsi? u mean 3 days after 5day blastocyte transfer ? i would say i started to get symptoms a week after ET but i assumed they were all the pessaries and i remember moaning about my sore boobs regularly on here x

BrotherForBear · 19/09/2019 08:00

Hi girls,

I just wanted to pop on and tell you my story. me (35) stage 4 endo and borderline AMH Hubbie 44 (low motility). We have been ttc for 4 years and had a failed IVF cycle last year.

On 31st August I went for egg collection and was delighted when they got 15 mature eggs however only 3 of the eggs fertilised and only one made it to blast.

I was devastated and cried all day.
But on September 4th we transferred that singleton. I was sure it wouldn't work so I didn't test until test day (17th) but on 17th I did a test and I got my first ever BFP!!
The line was super strong and popped up right away.
I just want to say that although things might not always go to plan with IVF its not over till its over so try not overreact the way I did. Wishing baby dust to everyone

facevalue · 19/09/2019 09:12

@BrotherForBear awwww CONGRATULATIONS that is a fantastic result.

I also only had one embryo and it stuck previously 2016 x

now waiting for my scan in 2 weeks after a bfp on our 5th cycle x i also think everyone should be sharing their positive and inspiring result because it is all doom and gloom otherwise x

thanks for sharing and keep us posted on your progress please

Maggie272 · 19/09/2019 09:43

@BrotherForBear that is great news! @facevalue you're so right. after my mishap the other night with the trigger...got 11 eggs, 10 mature, 9 fertilised! The clinic say all looks good, and hope for a couple of embryos xxx

Lil221 · 19/09/2019 11:27

Hi everyone, just been reading through all the posts I've missed. It's so lovely all the support on here. This journey is emotionally draining and at times makes you feel like your going crazy!
I'm still struggling with the pessaries, I just bloody hate them. I'm using a fertility clinic in manchester that has been fantastic! I'm currently 5+3 and I'm booked for my first scan on the 30th September!! I was violently sick with my last pregnancy but so far I'm getting away with slight nausea x

LillyLeaf · 19/09/2019 11:35

I hope all you TWWers are managing to pass the time without going insane. I've probably got another week to wait for my pgs results.

facevalue · 19/09/2019 13:45

@Lil221 lovely. fingers crossed for scan i have my scan after you 2oct. i'm 5+4 now but no vomiting ( not usually a vomiter). i am sleeping all the time and my boobs are on fire 😱. i'm off general food only snacking / beige food x

@LillyLeaf hang in there x fingers crossed they will be normal and you can join us soon x until then enjoy a glass of red for me 😂
