everyone,
I've started a new thread for people starting treatment this month. I'm hoping to make some new friends with people who understand how hard this journey is. Hopefully we can have some fun whilst getting on with the treatment.
This is my first cycle of ivf/icsi so any treatment buddies please say hello.
Lil x

Ayuree · 08/09/2019 21:44

Hi all. I want to wish all of you the best of luck in this journey. Gutted I didn't see this thread earlier. I had my embryos transferred on 31/08. We opted for 2 embryo transfer. The 2ww is just too long!! Can't wait for 16/09 to take the test. Do you ladies opt for distractions OR entertainment the mixed emotions during the wait? I started off super excited but these past two days it's been a little confusing like I'm not sure what to feel.

Ayuree · 08/09/2019 21:48

Congrats @Sabelaa & @Lil221

Glitter83 · 08/09/2019 22:39

Hi ladies

I've been reading these threads for some time trying to build up the courage to post. i had my EC a week last Friday. In short they ended up collecting 23 eggs and I was diagnosed with ovarian hyperstimulation. I've been off work since. Terrible bloating and pain and been on blood thinner injections. Of my 23 eggs we ended up with 5 good embryos which are now in the freezer. I was far too unwell for a transfer which was supposed to happen last Wednesday. Keeping positive and looking forward to my transfer which is likely to be sometime in end of October if AF shows on time in middle of October.

I wish I'd joined the chat sooner. I don't know anyone that's gone through IVF and all my friends are baby making machines. One of which I found out was pregnant couple weeks ago and felt like my heart literally just broke. It's good to know I've not been alone with all the emotions. I managed the injections ok until two days before my EC when I had a meltdown with my boss. Cried for 2 hours. Never been so embarrassed but he's a top guy and was very understanding....... thankfully. I wish you all the very best of luck and look forward to hearing more good news on this thread! x

drminion · 08/09/2019 22:47

Evening ladies and happy to see so much hope and good news! Beautiful pic @lil221! who would say we'd be so happy to read a BFP on a pregnancy test? my teen-self is laughing out loud!! :)
I'm on day 2 of injections, no pain or side effects just yet, but I'm feeling very edgy and quite snappy, my poor DH doesn't know what to say/do anymore!
Wishing you all the very best news this week, more BFPs and lovely strong embryos please!!!

Yorkshirehope · 09/09/2019 08:15

Morning all. Wow - side is effects of these progesterone pessaries. Have been bloated and constipated. Nearly fainted one evening with the pain. Wonder whether it’s also the combination of all the hormone changes. Going to call the clinic today to check the eggs as of day three. Fingers crossed. Quick question - am hearing lots about the dreaded TWW - when is it you start counting? Egg collection or transplanting?

Lil221 · 09/09/2019 08:29

Hi everyone, after getting my bfp I thought I would tell you all about my experience with the treatment. The injections weren't too bad but a little bit stingy at times. They made me so moody and very indecisive. I was out for lunch and ran to the bathroom to call my husband as I couldn't choose what to order and was having a meltdown 🙈.
Err the dreaded pessaries... I loathe those little white bullets. I had sore boobs, back ache and generally really rubbish and still do. They do mask pregnancy symptoms and it's only now that I'm starting to recognise the difference.
I tested out my trigger shot gonasi 5000miu and it started to fade day 4 and picked up again day 5. I'm now 10dp5dt and had pretty consistent bfp altering in colour. I'll attach pic.

Symptoms of pregnacy, around 5dpt bubbling and popping in uterus, constant stitch in left hand side running into my thigh, very sore boobs. These symptoms have stayed the same except I now have big blue veins in boobs and a feeling of nausea all day that just sits in the background.
I hope this helps everyone xx

@Yorkshirehope I started counting from the day of embryo transfer. My transfer was on 31/08 and my doctor has asked to take the test on 16/09

LillyLeaf · 09/09/2019 09:28

@Sabelaa congratulations. I totally understand the feeling of a BFP after a MC. With my 2nd BFP I just looked at the test and said 'here we go again', I was right and miscarried again. If I ever get another BFP it will feel me with dread. I can't even look at tests without feeling sick.

@Ayuree the 2ww is a total headfuck, unfortunately you just have to get through it, it's awful. my first 2ww was in December so it was very busy, lots of parties (although hinding the fact I wasn't drinking was hard). How many day past transfer are you now?

@Glitter83 wow that's a lot of eggs, no wonder you felt so bad. If I get any normal embryos this cycle I'll hopefully be doing a FET in October too. It's so hard hearing friends getting pregnant while going through this. My close friend mentioned she TCC again, I just know she'll be pregnant soon. Since I was ttc she was ttc, pregnant and now has a 14 month old. It's so unfair. I'm avoiding her.

@drminion sounds like those hormones are kicking in.

@Yorkshirehope 2ww should start from EC as this would be the same as a natural cycle, some clinics seem to make people wait longer, mine is always 14 days after EC.

I'm waiting for the dreaded day 5 call, I desperately need a decent number to pgs test as my hit rate is so bad.

LillyLeaf · 09/09/2019 10:04

Well I got 5 blasts which will be biopsied today, then possibly another 1 tomorrow. I'm pleased with that. Fingers crossed for some normals.

facevalue · 09/09/2019 10:11

@Lil221 FANTASTIC NEWS .. WARM CONGRATULATIONS.

I am so so happy it's a bfp ( and it's not upsetting like the randoms telling us they r pregnant) we shared the journey xxxx

did you call the clinic? keep us posted please with your progress and wish us luck for OTD ( i was looking at the test kit this AM was so tempted but no .. i'll wait .. i must say the bloody pessaries are killing me and my boobs r sore

@Onisa7 how are you?

How is everyone else holding up x

Vilanelle · 09/09/2019 10:45

Had my Day 8 scan today, they spotted something in uterus which they suspected was either a fold in skin or an endemetro (can not spell it) polyp which would mean surgery to remove it before iui starts.

Thankfully the Doctor looked at the scan and was happy it was just a fold. Womb lining is thick but I have just picked up my trigger shot and pessaries ready for iui on Wednesday!
They are going to ring me today to let me know when to take my trigger and what time iui will be.

Manager has allowed me the day off on Wednesday. I am very excited but can not stop wondering if this fold in skin will affect my chances.

LillyLeaf · 09/09/2019 12:00

@facevalue hang in there.

@Vilanelle I'm sure they would not continue with the iui if they were concerned about this fold. Good luck for Wednesday. I don't know much about iui. What is the reason for doing that instead of IVF?

Vilanelle · 09/09/2019 12:05

@LillyLeaf They suggested trying it first. No obvious fertility problems and tubes are clear. I am doing it as a single woman with donor sperm x

Onisa7 · 09/09/2019 12:16

@Sabelaa those are great news...I know it's hard to celebrate, specially when you already had a bad experience, but keep positive and cherish every success.

@Ayuree welcome to the pack. I'm a bit like you...done my transfer on the 30th and testing this week. Good luck and stay strong

@Glitter83 also welcome. 5 frosties is great. Now just take some time to breath, get back to a "normal" life without masses of medication and prepare for the next stage. Good luck!

@LillyLeaf good luck for today. Give yourself a rest after. You well deserve it.

@Lil221 it's so so amazing to see those lines. And as facevalue said, it's definitely genuine. Congrats!

@Vilanelle glad to hear that's nothing serious and you're still going ahead. Good luck.

@facevalue today I'm a lot more anxious. Maybe because I'm home and have nothing to keep me busy with (done my gardening, rearranged the wardrobe and all clothes inside, took all tools from our utility room and tidy them up, etc etc etc). But I keep looking at the calendar and it's only 3 days left...so I'll try to stay strong. I'm so scared of false responses ...I don't wanna put us through that.

Also, did you find that now, everyone you look, every movie you see, everyone you talk to, there's always someone pregnant? We just look at each and laugh... My friends have been ok with comments (just had another announcement this week) and even though I do think "why not me?" I'm not too bothered about it...for now!

Have a great day.

Ayuree · 09/09/2019 17:52

@LillyLeaf today is day 9 and another 7 days to go. I can test on 16/09

@Onisa7 thanks!!

Ayuree · 09/09/2019 17:54

Has anyone experience cramps/ pain after sitting in the car for a long period of time?

There was an accident on the road and it took me 2.5 hours to get home from work and now it's hurting more on the right.

Ayuree · 09/09/2019 17:56

@Vilanelle don't second guess. Go there with an open mind. There's a possibility for a BFP!!! Good luck, my lovely

Anaesthetist83 · 09/09/2019 18:49

@Glitter83

Hope you are starting to feel better. I am also recovering from severe OHSS. I ended up on HDU for a week .... eurgh. Having some time off work now to recover and hope also to try a FET in Oct/Nov. This is our first cycle.

LillyLeaf · 09/09/2019 18:55

@Vilanelle AHH ok, that makes sense. It does sound very similar to IVF without the egg retrieval.

@Anaesthetist83 looks like they'll be a few of us doing FET in October.

I've got everything crossed for the testers this week.

Anaesthetist83 · 09/09/2019 19:18

How are FETs done at your clinic? My clinic still does full buserelin downreg from day 21, so it’s looking like whilst I should hopefully be able to confirm the cycle at the beginning of Oct (providing the fresh cycle hasn’t completely mucked me up), transfer won’t actually happen until mid Nov. Seems like ages away :-(

LillyLeaf · 09/09/2019 19:40

@Anaesthetist83 my clinic is the same, Buserelin down reg, get AF, baseline scan, start patches, start lubion and Cyclogest 5 days before transfer (well that's what I did last time, the Buserelin down reg was awful). It's a bit boring (in a good way) compared to a retrieval/fresh cycle.

Anaesthetist83 · 09/09/2019 19:51

Buserelin was tolerable for the fresh.... to be honest, compared with OHSS, anything will be tolerable!!! Just working on regaining my fitness prior to all of this starting.

Vilanelle · 09/09/2019 20:53

Thank you everyone. Can I ask, is OHSS common then? I'm worried about taking my trigger tonight (midnight)
