@Welshpugmomma apparently bigger babies are easier to birth?! And they also tend to feed better I've heard. But I feel we'll all get the babies we can cope with.

@Cauliflower82 I tried colostrum harvesting. Possibly just in a half hearted way but nothing happened. It's annoying that people have all got such strong views on induction. I want one for a very good reason, which I won't share here in case it's upsetting but people should just jog on and let you make your own choice.

I've just read that 'most women' who have a sweep go into labour within 48 hours so we'll see. Gosh this is exciting isn't it?!

Re parenting books, I've just started today 'your baby week by week' and I'm liking it so far if you can face getting another one. A friend bought it for me and said it had really helped her through some challenging weeks!

Thank you ladies 💕 I really appreciate your perspective on this. Today I’m going to focus on being more active and try and encourage Pip to come on his own.

@Welshpugmomma 10 days to hold on now!! Oh wow, that’s coming around quickly too. Yesterday my consultant mentioned c section too - I just feel at this point I’d do anything to make sure baby arrives safely. Whilst I’m doing everything to get him here asap, it’s funny you’re doing the opposite and holding him in 😂. I have a feeling you’re going to be just fine and husband will make it home 🏡.

@KittyKatSmile big day today! I’m so excited to hear what happens. I actually have that book coming in the post today - it’s the last one I’m trying 😂. Yeah, I’ve decided to give up on the colostrum harvesting - @welshpugmomma I think a lot of people do do it for that reason but my trust atm appear to be on a ‘let’s all try’ kind of mission. I’m just not getting the hang of it though (only second day 😆) and it’s uncomfortable afterwards.

Mrbay · 27/02/2020 11:54

@KittyKatSmile - thank you!!! PS your handwriting doesn't show psychopathic traits so you are ok!! I'll print them off and come back with any questions if that's ok?

Oh, good luck with your sweep, I always think of a chimney sweep!!

@Cauliflower82 - I think we are! I don't want I'd do without them.

@Welshpugmomma - oh which pump did you go for?? Good news about DH being home in time, he is in the forces like mine?
I hope everything goes back into place for you after the birth!!

Zest11 · 27/02/2020 18:36

@Ginandtonic31 ooh yayy last day for you tomorrow! With the exception of Monday I hope you get a good few days at least to have a rest before baby decides to arrive. How are you feeling physically? You seem to have managed so well so far! You must have bought some stuff although it probably is sensible to wait until baby is born so you can work out what is actually needed. We might buy paint this weekend!

@Cauliflower82 Oh that's a good idea about adding photos each week...I need to take some too although like you I would probably end up with more an album of my pets!! I love to read/watch learn as you go blogs and vlogs. That is so so exciting you have a date for induction! Ultimately, little Pip is going to come out...does it matter how? I just don't understand people who are so opinionated...very narrow minded. Sooo exciting for you though!! Hmmm...natural things if you're keen to speed things up....I heard reflexology? Yes I have told the students, they're all very happy for me. One of my classes even gave me a little round of applause which was quite sweet! Like yours, a couple had guessed (yr11 boys surprisingly?!!) and were like "See, I told you!" to their mates haha!

Cauliflower82 · 27/02/2020 19:15

@zest11 why is it always the boys who notice first?! They did for me too. I never would have guessed they’d be more observant especially from teenagers - I’m being very stereotypical here. I also found the boys the most helpful too in terms of doing jobs for me 😂.
And you’re absolutely right, it doesn’t matter how. I’ll be keeping you guys updated each step of the way 😂. Reflexology I’ve never tried tbh and after a quick google I think I’m more than willing to read up more on it.

Zest11 · 28/02/2020 16:58

@Cauliflower82 I have the exact same thoughts as you with teenage boys...we have clearly underestimated them!! I've not done reflexology either, let me know if you try it! Oh, I hope you have a nice and relaxing weekend, your last one before Pip! I'm so excited for you. I remember we had our ECs within about a day of each other...I can't believe how quickly 9 months has come around! (It's probably dragged for you though!)

Does anyone have any tips on relieving back ache? I've just started to notice it and can only guess it's going to get worse!

KittyKatSmile · 28/02/2020 22:12

@Zest11 oh heck. Backache. That's about the only thing I have no advice on. Mine is pretty sore right now. Nothing other than baths are helping.

You have really freaked me out when you say 'your last weekend before Pip'. Eeek!

AliciaWhiskers · 29/02/2020 12:37

Oh my gosh, I can't believe that some of you are almost at your due dates!! This thread is soon going to have some squishy babies!!

Cauliflower82 · 29/02/2020 13:19

Every time I see a new update I just get SO excited that someone has given birth!! I’m just so on edge right now with excitement.

@Zest11 we were twins 👯‍♀️ for so long. It’s funny but yeah it’s totally dragged BUT I’m one of those people who the day after will not recall a thing and think it was the easiest process in the world, when in actual fact it’s obviously all been very stressful.
Hmm, interestingly, I’ve not really had any backache 🤷🏼‍♀️. If I did though I think I’d go with the bath too. Ooh I can’t wait to have a nice hot bath once Pip is here. I’ve looked at reflexology but closest place for me is town and I’m not really happy driving at the moment so I think I’ll be giving it a miss.

I hope everyone is doing well 🤗

How are you @aliciawhiskers?

Welshpugmomma · 29/02/2020 13:59

I've been lucky on the back ache front and haven't had any, I get the sciatica at times, but the yoga moves really seemed to help with that and the foot exercises before bed helped with the cramp too! I guess heat packs and bathing will relieve some of there pain...! I've had the worst indigestion/heartburn the last week I get it all the time even from drinking water :0 baby seems very high up still not engaged so I think it's just squishing all my bits!

Not long ladies :) hope your all well!
I've had a couple of messages not post the last week or so so keeping it short this time!

Zest11 · 02/03/2020 17:51

You girls are so lucky on the back ache front. I will need to look at exercises I think although baths are definitely helping!

@cauliflower82 I know exactly what you mean about not recalling things the day after! So weird how some things can just exit our minds!

@AliciaWhiskers how are you doing? Are you on the downregging part now?

@welshpugmomma I guess as uncomfortable and painful as baby not being engaged is, it shows he or she is waiting for daddy to get back before he/she makes his or her appearance!

Well everyone - it's March and that means one thing this month or should I say four (assuming I've counted the 9 month pregnant ladies correctly!) GrinSmileGrin Bursting with excitement to hear of everyone's announcements and then updates over the next few weeks! xx

AliciaWhiskers · 02/03/2020 17:57

I've done a week of the buserelin, had a blood test today and I start taking the oestrogen on Wednesday then a scan a week on Friday. I assume this is the downregging part!

Cauliflower82 · 02/03/2020 22:30

@AliciaWhiskers I remember being on buserelin for a very long time, about six weeks. Thankfully no horrible side effects from that one in terms of hormones but I do remember some people really suffered - I hope you’re doing well on it. I hated the menopur, now that bitch give me side effects.

@Zest11 I wonder if it’s because you’re working too hard at school too. Remember to teach from your chair and get the children to do lots of jobs for you like carrying books. Come to think of it, I would be in quite a bit of pain at school especially at lunch and when I got home. When I left school I just felt a whole lot better. Have you thought anymore about leaving at a particular date?

@Welshpugmomma not long now. I must say though I feel super confident that your husband is going to make it home. Weird but I just feel like it’s going to be absolutely fine.

Well, I have no news. I’m swinging between being terrified and reading every book I can get my hands on about induction and then there’s another part of me that feels I can coach myself through this and all will be well. For me, birthing seems to be the fixation at the moment 😔.

Hope you’re all well.

Yay congratulations @KittyKatSmile and welcome too the world, beautiful little Nancy! Wishing you both well , rest up! X

Cauliflower82 · 03/03/2020 08:40

@KittyKatSmile 💕💕💕💕💕 congratulations 🥳 she is absolutely beautiful, just perfect. She has hair too!! You enjoy absolutely every minute of this and soak up every second. Sending you and Nancy lots and lots of love xx

Ginandtonic31 · 03/03/2020 10:33

Morning guys

Awww @KittyKatSmile how beautiful is she! Congratulations and hope you feel well!

Sorry for the silence. I started my maternity leave Friday and the funeral was yesterday so just been focusing on that! So technically I officially start my maternity today in my eyes really.

@Zest11 I still feel good thank you. My feet are a bit fat now! But I'm trying to get cleaning and batch cooking done this week. And I've some nice things like massage, hair etc this week.

Buserelin is what turned me nuts. I'm envious of people okay on it 😂

Zest11 · 03/03/2020 17:12

@KittyKatSmile she is just so lovely. Congratulations to you! I am so glad she is here. I have to say, I had to fight back some tears for you when I saw your post - after e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g you have been through, she is here. I hope you are both doing well. Enjoy every second!! P.S. lovely name - that was my grandmother's! Grin

@Cauliflower82 I think you might be right...it's intermittent and today was a killer despite sitting down teaching. I will have to work on my posture. One of the "naughty" boys today asked me if I needed any chores doing! Shock You were right about it being the unexpected ones offering to help! I hope you are managing to relax and you are not too comfortable with just a few days to go!! I just can't wait to read your update soon either!

@Ginandtonic31 I am glad you are doing okay and you have some nice plans for the rest of this week. A massage sounds just perfect and they could probably work your feet too as it would be good to trigger labour at this stage Grin. Regarding the buserelin, and in fact all the other fertility drugs - it wasn't until I had been off absolutely everything for a few weeks how much more balanced I felt! I'm sure even clomid exacerbated things for me!

@AliciaWhiskers so yes you are in the thick of it! I hope the emotions are okay and everything goes well. I guess it can't be too long until transfer if you are on the the estrogen now!

Zest11 · 03/03/2020 17:13

@Cauliflower82 I meant too uncomfortable!!

Welshpugmomma · 04/03/2020 04:19

@AliciaWhiskers that seems to have come around quick good lucky with this cycle and everything crossed for you, I was too busy crying with nerves before every injection to notice the side effects I think! I still don't know how I managed to do them every night!

@Ginandtonic31 enjoy your brief pre baby maternity time! Massage sound idyllic :) I've done some cooking probably could've done with more but it's hard thinking of meals and my freezer is somehow full (of ice cream) ;)

I had my scan today and it seems your positivity ladies has rubbed off on mine and dh situation! I've been scheduled for a C/s on Sunday! DH gets back the sat, all being well me and baby wait patiently :) baby already at 9lb7 WTF! I'm normally petite and my hubs is hardly massive we gonna have a chubster on our hands but we can't wait all the same even if the going home outfit is just for a photo ;) haha!

@Cauliflower82 just a few days more for you too! Hope your enjoying the last few moments of peacefulness !

@Zest11 so glad your students are being good eggs! Have a look at those belly support bands for when bump gets bigger if your still suffering with back, my friend said it helped her alot as she mostly stood and worked long shifts.
My hands have been sore mind kept forgetting to mention to the doc, I did today he said I have carpel tunnel which I had googled ;) hope it does one after birth but been told to expect it to get worse before better!

Cauliflower82 · 04/03/2020 12:15

@Ginandtonic31 yay! Happy maternity leave ☺️ I hope your week is going well and you’re enjoying all of your nice appointments. I’ve not done any batch cooking so I look at you in absolute awe 🙊

@Zest11 don’t worry I’m far from comfortable 😂 😂 I couldn’t help but chuckle at that. On a more serious note though, if you’re in lots of pain, please take it easy - you might need to take some time off and relax at home for a few days or so. Teaching is a very unforgiving job when you’re not on top form. Just put you and baby first - honestly it’s the only thing that matters. When I think back to the struggles I had in school now I get quite upset as there was just no leeway and I just felt exhausted. I’m happy to hear the pupils are helping - it’s so sweet, isn’t it.

@Welshpugmomma eeeeee that’s so exciting!! This Sunday!! I’m so happy the dates are working out well too. This really is just such an exciting time. I can’t wait to hold little (well big) Pip. Oh god, we still haven’t decided on a name either 🙄. We’ve had ages and still have about eight on our short list 😬.

@AliciaWhiskers I still remember my tip for injections was always to do them at a 45 degree angle 😂. It feels like so long ago now. I hope you’re doing well ☺️.

No news from me. Well except I got quite emotional earlier because I realised my dog is going to her grandparents tomorrow morning until I get home from the hospital and I’m going to miss her so much - I wish I could take her in with me. She’s my rock 💕. I need to finish off my hospital bag today - I’m taking a mini suitcase, is that alright do you think?

I’ll be keeping you all updated over the next few days as I’ve always been a bit TMI 😂

@KittyKatSmile I hope you and Nancy are doing well and hopefully all home now or soon to be home 🤗

Zest11 · 05/03/2020 18:53

@Welshpugmomma awww yayy, so glad the timings are working well for you! Do let me know how the csection is. I am curious to hear everyone's stories. I'm sorry about the carpel tunnel. I remember @KittyKatSmile saying she was struggling with that a while ago :( Thank you for the bellyband advice, I hadn't thought of those but will definitely have a look.

@Cauliflower82 eek good luck for "the end of this week" (I'm guessing tomorrow if your doggy has been dropped off today!) I hope all goes well and nothing is TMI here. I love to hear updates...it's making me so excited for you! Yes I probably do need to take it easy and maybe have a few days off at some point. As much as I try to sit down and take it easy it is pretty tough having to rush around and teach back to back lessons. Even dropping a pen on the floor is a faff!! Grin

KittyKatSmile · 05/03/2020 19:49

Blimey guys. I'm so bloody excited for this week for us. Nancy is on tenterhooks waiting for news of her new friends across the miles :-)
Good luck to all of you due imminently and I can't wait to hear the updates x

Cauliflower82 · 05/03/2020 21:17

Hi everyone, just a quick update from me. I’m exhausted so planning on sleeping until they wake me. First internal done and first pessary given - not as bad as I expected tbh. Feeling okay so far. I’ve had a crying day though - I wept and wept when my dog was taken to her grandparents and then cried on the way to hospital but so far everyone has been lovely. Hope you’re all okay xx

Lalla525 · 05/03/2020 21:18

Thanks all for your advice and I decided to go for a scan to put my mind at ease.

Just as well i did it as they discovered vasa praevia and I'm heartbroken. If everything goes well, my baby will be premature. If things go badly, baby dies. It's so much to take on and I can not stop crying.

Anyway - just got back to thank you for the advice of getting a second scan - it gave my baby a chance. Hugs and good luck to all.
