@Mrbay you are going to get so many baby things from people! Us included I'd say!

And Etsy is on my list of things to research at the moment. You ladies are actually my test cases. There is a whole section of my wardrobe with little cardigans on and your names! Not sure how superstitious you all are about receiving gifts before babies but pm me your addresses and I'll send on the knitwear!! My mum was in hysterics last night at the list I've got and how much I've got to make!!

Happy Friday ladies xx

Hope you all have nice relaxing weekends when they come xx

@Ginandtonic31 I’m trying with the hypnobirthing book but I think I’m just too impatient - my attention span is not great. I will persevere as I don’t want to give up immediately.

@KittyKatSmile I’ve ordered the positive birthing book too which came yesterday. Now I just need to start doing some reading. I have become so lazy recently :(. Oops. Lazy and absolutely swimming in chocolate, possibly not the best combination.
I wanted to say good luck with your employer too. Six years ago I put in a formal complaint against bullying with my last employer. Unions were involved etc and it was incredibly stressful - don’t let it take over and look after yourself.

@Zest11 I was initially disappointed not to be able to manage longer but as soon as that Sunday night came I knew I’d made the best decision. I intend to go back round about Christmas - I’m hoping I can go back part time too. There’s not a single part of me that misses work 😬. Have you given much thought as to when to start maternity?

@Mrbay I’m still sending lots of positive vibes.

Ladies, I was thinking this morning that in the summer we were all talking about Love Island and it’s back on again, albeit the winter one.

Not much to update on here. It looks like I might be offered an iron infusion next week or the week after which gives me something else to google and obsess over.

I need help too. Do prams need to be fitted with sheets? I swear I spent so much time getting pregnant, I’m not going to have a clue what to do when he’s actually here 😂. I read, take notes and then forget and need to refer back to notes but only after I find the lost notes.

Ginandtonic31 · 07/02/2020 12:10

@Cauliflower82 randomly my mum told me the other day the carrycot needs a pram sheet 😂 I just got a Moses basket mattress protector and two fitted sheets from amazon for the carrycot. They weren't expensive. Message me if you want to know which ones and you can check if they fit your pram type.

Ginandtonic31 · 07/02/2020 12:11

@KittyKatSmile what is it work are doing? I'm getting anxious about work as my manager keeps making comments about my appointments and piling stuff on me that needs going before I go. He doesn't seem to realise how good he's got it with me working until I'm over 38 weeks and absolutely no sick days, just appointments. It's really not fair when I've been the best I possibly can be and anyone else in my team wouldn't have managed as well.

Cauliflower82 · 07/02/2020 12:27

@Ginandtonic31 awesome, thank you. I’m going to check amazon out with now. What would we do without amazon? I am completely reliant on it 🙊

KittyKatSmile · 07/02/2020 13:08

@Cauliflower82 I find the sheet thing really quite baffling. I think pram sheets tend to fit on bedside cribs, it is it maybe the other way round. Anyway, my mum has decided her latest project is to custom and hand make sheets for all my needs :-)

Work have been sidelining me (and not very subtly) by implementing a new system which would usually sit with me and which now completely replaces a system I implemented a few years ago and completely run without discussing it with me or consulting. It's been really embarrassing as people ask me what's going on and I have no idea. And then no-one will speak to me about it or support me. My boss has even been open (fool) about saying to people 'well, she's going off on maternity leave so I can do what I like'. At the moment I have zero desire to go back to a place who treats me like that but I just want to do the right thing legally so that I don't trip myself up. I've taken to writing emails replying to my own previous emails saying 'as you haven't got back to me, can you please confirm' and I've taken notes of everything and sent them to myself. Makes my usually chilled blood boil :-)

@KittyKatSmile - Oh I cannot wait to see your makes. I don't have a 2 legged child yet, but feel free to dress either of these two!

@Mrbay oh goodness, they're big!! I'd be terrible at doing those. What this means is that I just keep knitting until your little one is here and then I send a moving box full of everything I've made....!

OP posts:
KittyKatSmile · 07/02/2020 15:23

@Mrbay (only because I'm very skilled at knitting, of course, not because it's going to take ages. Argh!)

OP posts:
Mrbay · 07/02/2020 16:05

just catching back up via the PC!

@Zest11 - I see!

@Cauliflower82 - thank you! If this doesn't work, at least I won't be 6-months when I see My Chemical Romance - if it does the baby WILL have our taste in music!

@KittyKatSmile - Ah I'm sure that they would both look lovely with a little knitted bow! They are pretty small for their breeds. My gun dog trainer calls the lab a dwarf!

sheets for prams?? Really?? Ok, if this work, I'll have to do some research!!

Welshpugmomma · 09/02/2020 21:36

Hey ladies, hope you've all had a good weekend :) Missed quite a few posts somehow!!
@mrbay your post sounds positive, I have everything crossed for you :) Sounds like the animals keep you busy enough haha, my doggo rules my world !

@Zest11 that's exciting about the possible movements - I didn't feel anything for what felt like a lifetime it was actually about 23 I think ? Now it feels like I am getting a beating at least x3 times a day haha jabs all over the place! Along with hiccups every night!

@Cauliflower82 hope you'll feel better after the iron boost, I started taking a vitamin last month after my bloods came back slightly low, hopefully will have given me a little boost too :) Nice news on finishing work. I honestly have been so lucky not to work, I feel so tired not sure how you've all managed/ing ! Then again sometimes doing nothing does make me feel even more lethargic!

@KittyKatSmile glad you seem to be thinking straight with a lawyer and that, doesn't sound like a great place to return to - perhaps you'll live the happy ever after in Jersey ;) and good news about baba having food on the table - I'll send you a pm re.address (I'll go easy on you and give the FIL's ;) I had no idea how expensive posting things internationally was - I got quoted $113 to send a shoebox size on sweets back home at xmas , needless to say brother didn't receive lol!

@Ginandtonic31 go you still going the gym and working! How long do you plan on taking off?

I have my 36week appt this week, feels like I've waited a while inbetween appts this time (can't remember if I said that in my last post, got de ja vu ;) On a serious note I'm actually huge - dreading they advise to book c section or early induction just based on this :/ !!! Maybe I'll have an update to give you on Weds!Booked for a brazilian the following week too, just hoping I can grit my teeth through it, a little taster of labour maybe lol! Missing DH and starting to panic that he might miss the big day- my friend was just 3 weeks early and it had given me a right kick up the arse in terms of organising!

I feel ok about what we have bought, apart from clothing its as if I'[ve never paid attention to what babies wear! I have a million vests and very little of anything to go with - I think the unisex shopping has really hindered me here as I haven't found any nice onesies etc... Will likely be sending the hubs out shopping to buy GIRL / BOY outfits as soon as he gets here!

Sorry it's a long 'un thanks for persevering!

Mrbay · 11/02/2020 17:20

@Welshpugmomma - thank you!! I'm sure that you aren't huge and I do hope DH is home for the birth.
Oh rather you than me for a bit of waxing! sooo painful! I'm covered in tattoos but I would never have a wax again - oh the pain, the tears and the plucked chicken look for 24-hrs.

soooo.... I tested early and it was negative, no period yet or spotting but I am pretty sure that this one didn't take, but looks like they've got my progesterone correct! OTD is Thursday so I'll keep you all updated.
Last night I had a little break down and told DH that I'm done, at this moment I'm on the fence about going through a 2nd EC, but I do feel that I would regret not trying at least one more time. Due to DH's career, he gets grounded to the UK whilst we are going through IVF, so I don't want to stop him travelling.

I wonder if they will let me go back on the pill whilst I decide next steps.

Sorry for the long post, hope you are all ok.

KittyKatSmile · 11/02/2020 18:06

@Mrbay sorry to hear about your wobble yesterday. It's such a bloody hard battle/journey to be going through. What does DH think about being grounded while you're going through treatment? (Which I think is bloody brilliant, btw). You just need to see what happens on Thursday and take it from there. I was also sure that mine hadn't worked. You don't know you're out until you're out. Very unhelpful all round from me :-)

Zest11 · 11/02/2020 18:09

@mrbay I'm really sorry to read your post. I know you are still deliberating about another go but you are still young and they are free (financially, not emotionally)! Take time out and I can't see why there would be an issue if you wanted a break. I guess you want to go on the pill because of the endo? Is there not anything else you can take for it in these circumstances?

@Cauliflower82 yes you must have felt great on that Sunday night. And no I can't imagine you do miss work! I would like to go as long as I can. I am perhaps naieve in thinking I can work right up until the end as I will have a lot of "gained time" but I will certainly try! It's still so far away though so I will just have to see how things go.

@Welshpugmomma good luck with your appointment this week. I hope all goes okay for you.

Cauliflower82 · 13/02/2020 07:48

@Mrbay I just wanted to drop a message to say that I am hoping desperately that you get some very positive news today. Thinking of you. This journey is so demanding and I just hope it works out for you and your husband.

@Zest11 gained time - ooh I do love that time of year. Have the children started asking questions yet? I used to love their innocent little pieces of advice and words of wisdom. I used to find a lot of the boys were so keen to help out with lifting things and doing things for me - take advantage. I saw a completely new side to so many of my pupils.

@KittyKatSmile ah, that sounds like a crappy crappy situation for work and I can see how it must be really stressful. Why do some people have the ability to be so heartless? They sound pretty stupid too!

@Welshpugmomma a Brazilian?! Oh my. Yeah, I admire you but will not be taking your lead on this. However, I have been thinking about this area a lot recently 😬. Incredibly sensitive skin though so limited in terms of options.

I have a bit of news too. I had my third growth scan today and, at 35 weeks, Pip is measuring 6 and a half pounds. I’m generally only quite petite (not anymore 😂) at 5ft 2/3 and usually about 9 stone, so the consultant is a little worried that Pip is getting too big to deliver comfortably. There was some talk earlier on about induction at 39 weeks but now she wants to see me again at 37 for another scan with the possibility of inducing me pretty much as soon as. I’m a bit nervous if I’m honest - I’m not great at internal examinations and things like that. I think people assume that because you’ve done ivf you’re good with all that stuff but I was in so much pain, more mentally than physically, during embryo transfer. I was lucky to have the same nurses all of the time and at this hospital nobody is really going to know me. I’m usually quite good at getting myself in the zone for smears etc but for several internals I’m going to need to up my game. Anyway sorry for droning on, I feel like Pip’s arrival is imminent and I’m just getting nervous.

KittyKatSmile · 13/02/2020 09:32

@Mrbay I too came on to send you best wishes today. These can be discarded if you prefer to be alone today x

@Cauliflower82 that is so exciting though!! You might get to meet your little Pip even sooner! And you are then likely to be our first Mummy in here! If you are worried about the pain then put in your birth plan that you want an epidural as soon as you can. I had coffee with a friend who had her second about 4 weeks ago and she was like 'take the epidural'!! Are you all ready in the house? Do you have your bags packed? Spritz for your bits?? I know you're scared but I am grinning from ear to ear. PM me your address please. Pip's knitwear is sitting in my wardrobe :-)

OP posts:
Cauliflower82 · 13/02/2020 10:52

@KittyKatSmile what is spritz for your bitz - I’ve just been on amazon but wasn’t convinced I’d found the right stuff 😢.
I think we’re pretty much ready - nursery completely finished and I almost have my bag packed - I might finish that today.
The consultant did suggest to me yesterday that it might be a good idea to consider an epidural from the get go. I’ve got that positive birth book you recommended and I’m going to read up on epidurals today.
Do you think any of us will have a leap year baby? It’s kind of in the back of my mind.
Thank you for the cardigan ☺️ I can’t wait to see it and for Pip to wear it 💕.

Ginandtonic31 · 13/02/2020 17:53

Hi all.

@Welshpugmomma I have been still swimming and going to the gym. Although I'm sort of just swimming now as I found out yesterday the baby has too much fluid around her so being extra monitored now. So I'm a little worried about her. And then to add to the upset we lost MIL this morning. We were hoping she would make it to see baby but it wasn't to be. So a bad week!!

I really want to try and avoid an epidural. I don't want to be restrained and medical. I don't want a drip or a catheter. But I will see how I go.

KittyKatSmile · 13/02/2020 17:58

@Ginandtonic31 I'm so so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself at this time. How terrible.

OP posts:
KittyKatSmile · 13/02/2020 18:00

@Cauliflower82 this is the one. I'm sure there's only one. Apparently it's amazing. I'm willing to give it a go. Along with maternity pads with witch hazel and lavender oil then put in the freezer. You're welcome.

And I'd love to have a 29 Feb baby! Imagine how smart it'll look when it does its GCSEs at 4!!!

I've also heard that Bottoms Up from Boots is just as good but cheaper. Don't know myself!

Thanks @KittyKatSmile it's a sad day and just trying to support my husband. I'm really worried about the fluid too.

Zest11 · 13/02/2020 18:14

@Cauliflower82 that is great news although I do appreciate your worries. You could be the one to have a 29th February baby but my money is also on @KittyKatSmile! Re: what kitty said about the epidural. Someone said to me years ago and it has stuck in my mind: "The prize at the end is the same as someone who didn't have an epidural so you might as well have it!" I haven't actually told the students I'm pregnant yet although it is now blindingly obvious but I will confirm it to them after 1/2 term. That's so sweet that your students were really helpful for you...I am not sure how mine will be...

@Ginandtonic31 After reading your exercise updates I too went for a swim the other day and have also ordered myself a maternity costume! Thank you for that unconscious encouragement!

We have had our 20 week scan now and all was good. Also confirmed that the wind I have been feeling is actually the baby as I felt it and watched him move on screen at the same time Smile I feel relieved that I know what to look for with movements now :)

Zest11 · 13/02/2020 18:16

@Ginandtonic31 sorry to hear things are tough at the moment for you. Look after yourselves xx
