Currently I can fit in to fleece leggings, so I am wearing that plus DH's hoody - I have no idea what I'll wear tomorrow.

M&S order completed, so hopefully I'll have something to wear this week!!

@ginandtonic11 - but at least you have a reason!! I've just been slowly getting bigger!

@KittyKatSmile - I've day 10 of injecting, so anytime this week, I hope!!

Mrbay · 06/01/2020 17:02

@KittyKatSmile - what on earth is a pelvic band?

Zest11 · 06/01/2020 17:43

@KittyKatSmile I hope the CTS is not so painful and annoying. Are you able to take anything for it?
On another note, I keep meaning to ask, are you still exercising? The first trimester has been really tough for me with nausea, vomiting and exhaustion so I've barely done anything. Do you do any "easier" classes like yoga or pilates? I might try some of those if my symptoms settle down just to get moving again.

@mrbay aww I'm sorry you're finding the weight gain disheartening. I know it's of little help but it does happen with each go at IVF :( I also hope your period turns up soon. I remember you saying previously it was a bit late.

Has anyone got any suggestions for book club? :D I am reading The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell. I tend to look at the Richard and Judy recommendations on the thrillers as they are often easy reading! There is another one out by Shari Lapena which looks good and I have a reservation on that.

Zest11 · 06/01/2020 17:45

@Ginandtonic31 and @KittyKatSmile I may follow your advice and do an online hynobirthing class, quite handy you can do it from the comfort of your own home!

Ginandtonic31 · 06/01/2020 18:23

@Zest11 I'm doing the same one as @KittyKatSmile. I got it on a flash sale one day for £5. But I really like it. Then I'm doing an NHS one too. As for exercise I couldn't in the first 12 weeks. But from about 14 weeks onwards I went back to the gym. At the moment I tend to do treadmill, cross trainer and swimming so nothing too strenuous but just to keep me moving and calories burning. And better for my head. If I can't get to the gym a do some you tube 3rd trimester workouts.

I definitely gained weight through IVF. A stone. And then pregnancy on top. I'm scared of how much bigger I can get!

KittyKatSmile · 06/01/2020 19:38

@Zest11. I had to stop exercising when I had that weird migraine episode but got back to it after that. I'm still going to spin class although bizarrely I have to go in the front row because I'm too big to get through the bikes now, ha ha. I'm also doing weights classes. I'm moving back to Guernsey next weekend (sob!) and I'm looking into get a personal trainer before baby just so that I've got a relationship with someone that I can then pick up again when I'm ready. I actually sort of feel that I might have lost some of the IVF weight if that makes any sense at all. I feel more like myself than I did during the treatment but who knows what I'll be like come the end Grin

One of my best friends from uni had a little boy on 21 Dec and I saw him yesterday. So tiny and gorgeous. And then a friend in Guernsey had one today. Message: 'it's done. The baby is out. I survived. That's the main thing'. I bloody love that girl.

@Ginandtonic31 thank you, I think I will get that too in a couple of months :) Thanks for the exercise suggestions. I think I am able to go back now. I love swimming but I'm a bit worried with feeling so self conscious now things are changing...

@KittyKatSmile That's a good idea about getting a PT. They are so good and everything can be personalised. I hope your move back this weekend goes smoothly. That is funny about how your friend described the birth...it's refreshing for people to be honest and to the point!

mouse1234567 · 11/01/2020 08:45

@Cauliflower82 the kids are so on it aren’t they-I think you work with older ones tho -mine are only six so with my baggy clothes they haven’t guessed yet! My aim is to get through the next 5 weeks of this half term and then let them know after half term -I am getting bigger tho so let’s see!! Thanks re the info on baby kicks. Keep wondering if I’m feeling but def nothing def yet. Who knows?!

@KittyKatSmile I will check our h and m maternity bras -I need something. Had awful chaffing yesterday -I think from old badly fitting bras and bio oil combo! You due date is soon-4th March is my dads bday so a great date! I always like celebrating then as I see it as the beginning of early spring!

@Zest11 glad all is going well with you. I actually quite enjoyed being back at work this week and Im feeling pretty normal so it’s quite a good distraction. I’m trying to take it easy and leave earlier etc too. Will also take a look at m and s bras too. Yes I’m June 14th due date -ten days before my bday! When’s your due date?

@Mrbay I’m sorry your body is feeling a bit different -IVF really plays havoc with it and our confidence etc. Funny your comment on pjs as I wore these super baggy comfy trousers to work the other day and one of
My kids on my class asked if I had my pjs on! Hope you are feeling ok for your next round. All the best.

mouse1234567 · 11/01/2020 08:47

@Zest11 I’m reading dawn porter’s new book which is great and very easy reading.

mouse1234567 · 11/01/2020 08:52

All going ok with me. 18 weeks tomorrow. You guys will appreciate and understand this -but only just managed to have sex for the first time since before IVF. We were just so scared but so far no bleeding!!

Exercise wise I’m someone who dips in and out and to be honest I walk a lot and my job is quite active but I’m not a gym bunny. I was doing yoga on and off before IVf and I’m planning on going to my first preg yoga class this aft. Will let you know how I find it. Still quite anxious on and off so hope it helps with that!

My friend has loads of hypno birthing stuff from a course she is going to give me so will try that. Maybe not just yet tho. 20 week scan and meeting with consultant in 3 weeks. Will be good to get that done.

I have read some of you said you haven’t signed up to an antenatal like NCT. I’m in two minds about it-have sported a local Happy Parents Happy Baby one which I might do I think.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Ginandtonic31 · 11/01/2020 11:29

@mouse1234567 the only reason I haven't signed up to NCT is because most people said it's good for meeting people. When I looked my nearest is 15 miles away in a place I never go so wouldn't be overly bothered about meeting anyone there! I've signed up for four nhs classes though. I'm loving the hypnobirthing course too. I'm not sure whether to buy the book or if that's overkill!

I'm due just before my birthday in March too! Can't wait to have a gin on my birthday 😂

Had a scan I wasn't meant to have at 31 weeks last week. I just turned up for it even though I thought I shouldn't be having it. After they said I shouldn't have had it. But she was good for once and I saw her face and features which was lovely. I got a photo but she looks like a possessed doll! They also said she's a delicate mover which is why I don't really feel kicks and punches. More rolls. She's head down now. But may turn. We shall see.

I still feel huge and like I look 40 weeks. To think I have 9 weeks left is terrifying size wise.

KittyKatSmile · 11/01/2020 16:30

@Ginandtonic31 that is indeed quite a scary photo!! I have always been very anti 4d scans (what even is 4d?!) as I find they look like alien babies made out of plasticine but I like the idea more and more. Still not going to do it though....!

@mouse1234567 I went to school with Dawn Porter! Not that I want @AliciaWhiskers to be able to narrow down who I really am :-)

@Zest11 and the rest of book club, I'm reading 'Where the Crawdads Sing' and I'm really enjoying it so far. Quite different.

Love to you all ladies x

Ginandtonic31 · 11/01/2020 18:15

@KittyKatSmile I'm not having a 4D scab as other half's opinion is - "I'll see her in 9 weeks anyway". So there we go. It was nice seeing her face on the actual scan though at the hospital bless her.

KittyKatSmile · 11/01/2020 18:23

@Ginandtonic31 I like your OH. Can I come round for a gin for your birthday please?!

OP posts:
Zest11 · 12/01/2020 17:04

@mouse1234567 Glad all is going okay for you. Only a couple more weeks for you until the 20 week scan. I am finding work a good distraction too although absolutely exhausting. I am also trying to hide my pregnancy from the kids until half term...will see how that goes. How was your antenatal yoga class? I am signed up to go to one later this week. Re. Classes I think I am going to sign up to NCT as it's local but I have not heard of the other one you say, maybe it 's just specific to your area?

@Ginandtonic31 Oh gosh yes, that photo does look creepy! But it's good she behaved this time and you got to see her properly. Ahh only 9 weeks though. Single figures! I can't wait until I'm counting down on single figures. The "teens" are moving along at a reasonable pace for me but I have a feeling 20-30 is going to drag.

Thank you all for the book club suggestions. I will have a look into those. I don't really recommend The Family Upstairs. I found it similar to 9 Perfect Strangers I read earlier this year in that it started off interesting but then had a weird cult vibe to it.

Ginandtonic31 · 12/01/2020 19:04

On the topic of book club I'm trying to get through a dreadful book. It's taking me forever. It's called My Lovely Wife. I'm keen to get finished so I can find something good to read!!

@Zest11 20-30 I found went super fast!

Mrbay · 13/01/2020 17:21

wrote an excellent reply and then promptly deleted it! IDIOT!

I'm feeling a little more human today, I'm less bloated and I may have found some jeans to fit (fingers crossed). HRT is a magical drug!
I'm still chubby, but not overly and if this time doesn't work, I will join Slimming World and get this 2 stone off.

thanks all for thinking about me.

@KittyKatSmile - I found the facebook group - oh my! some interesting characters out there.

i've started reading It Starts With An Egg - it is frying my head!!

KittyKatSmile · 21/01/2020 11:54

Oh. My. God.

Do you girls remember Crystal? Well she's just joined my other thread. Stay tuned....

And updates from people please.

I've just got back to Guernsey and am settling in to the new normal... with that in mind I may have to start sending knitwear out soon. Actually I've had another idea to deal with my superstitious nature. I'll pack them all up and address them before birth and then send my mother out to post them once you've had your little ones xx

Crumpets124 · 21/01/2020 12:23

Hi @KittyKatSmile hope you don’t mind me jumping into your thread temporarily! I found your recommendations for protein powder etc pre and during ivf and I was wondering how long pre ivf you followed the diet?

I’ve seen some of you girls back on different threads over the past two years (I’ve name changed) and am delighted to hear so much positive news!

Mrbay · 21/01/2020 13:09

@KittyKatSmile - can't wait to hear about her perfect life!!

Pleased to hear that the move went well :)

Nothing major to update on my end, apart from DH always gets sent away around any important IVF date - honestly it is as if they know! Luckily, they will allow him home for the appointments but makes it so obvious to his troop.

I've had my first acupuncture session, very odd!

If this transfer doesn't work, I am having a good break from this all. I am done with all the drugs, the weight gain and the mood swings. However, the puppy's new game is to try and steal my injection or help draw up so at least that's something to look forward to each morning!

Hope everyone is well

Welshpugmomma · 21/01/2020 14:25

Hey ladies, hope your all well took me a little while to catch up, glad your settling into the new norm @KittyKatSmile must be a much slower pace over there - enjoy it!

I wanted to do the hypnobjrthjng classes but they were expensive over here and dh was going to be away for half the sessions so opted against it, I do have the book and found it a calming read but without the classes and practise I don't think it'll do much good for me tbh - wish id heard about that online course earlier not sure I have enough time now?!

Can we just recap with our due dates I know the early grads are close ish in datea but would like it noted haha

I'm the 11/3/20 praying for an on time baby, I'm terrified hubs is going to be sailing in the Atlantic when the time comes. He comes back on the 7th... Please cross all your fingers and toes for us because I don't want to do it alone here!

So glad to hear puppers is being as helpful as ever! @mrbay I have a friend also doing a round at the moment so am reliving all the emotions with her, good luck with the acupuncture it is odd isn't it! I can't put my finger on whether it helped or not though!

@zest11 @mouse1234567 I really enjoyed the prenatal yoga, I'm not sure if it was a bit more doolalee here than it would be in the UK but really informative Nd the cramp /sciatica Stretches have been helpful for me, I've not been as much as I wouldve liked as it's far from me but I always feel very good when I get back!

A couple of the girls in my miami 'mom' group have had their babies this month which is exciting really not long to go now, 7 weeks tomorrow!

@Ginandtonic31 nice to see baba, maybe that's the babies duck face haha :) I had scan at 30 too which was crazy clear and I will have a other scan at 36 I think that's more to check fluid levels and size! But looking good so far they also said to me positioning may change... Let's hope not!

KittyKatSmile · 21/01/2020 14:54

OMG @Crumpets124 you're freaking me out. What if you're actually Crystal?!

Only followed the diet for around 4-6 weeks before starting injecting I'd say. Although it was very much just tweaking my already ok diet.

@Mrbay sounds like you're in a very good and balanced place. May the force be with you.

@Welshpugmomma I am 4th March and will not be going a day over. I've only just started hypnobirthing; I don't think you're too late now at all. I've done the one from the positive birth company. Tbh I don't know if it will work for me as I'm a massive cynic but I'm willing to give it a go. I've also just got the book: the Positive Birth Book and I'm really enjoying that as it's a lot less patchouli oil and a lot more practical.

Love to you all x

Crumpets124 · 21/01/2020 15:31

Haha @KittyKatSmile I’m definitely not whoever crystal is! I remember gin and tonic mainly as she wrote me a lovely reply back when I responded poorly but was on a low dose of meds!

Thanks for that - I’m exactly 6 weeks to go and started it today so fingers crossed it makes a difference.

Good luck ladies with the remainder of your pregnancies and I’ll leave you’s to it!!!

KittyKatSmile · 21/01/2020 15:58

@Crumpets124 no, stay! We're the loveliest group on MN (mainly G&T) and we'll be here if you have any questions as you progress!

Congratulations!

@KittyKatSmile ah sorry I meant six weeks too starting My second round of ivf 😂 but yes you do all sound like a lovely bunch! I’ve been following your thread for a while now (where I found your protein guidelines!) good luck over the next few months x
