I'm the same, baths have to burn!!

So, I think I have made a good G&T substitute! One whole lime squeezed and left overs added to the glass, one bottle of tonic water and a splash of Robinson's Lime and Cumber cordial - HEAVEN!

I've had the dreaded very light spotting over the weekend, was brown but was pinkish this morning, I'm pretty sure it's very common. Right lets get this scan booked in!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

Ginandtonic31 · 28/10/2019 10:19

@Mrbay I think it is common. Try not to worry. I will try the drink! Apparently the lime and mint Robinson's with soda is like a mojito...

Just had 20 week scan. No boy bits so they think it's a girl. Unless he still has his small penis tucked in. All fine on the scan. Phew. Although I've looked on the chart and her tummy is measuring big. It worries me a bit as we had ivf to screen for a bowel disease and now I'm thinking what if she has it and that's why her tummy is big 😫 I'm in real pain underneath where baby is today. Really sore deep inside. Like a full bladder but it's empty. Also I think my bladder is getting weaker as if I stay in the look I keep weeing a bit more after.

Mrbay · 28/10/2019 11:47

The Robinsons in so tasty! Currently on offer in Tesco so I am going to stock up.

Congratulations on having a little girl.
I can't help but I've learned to stop worrying about the things you cannot change or don't have an action plan to deal with. The size guides are guides so its easy said than done, but at the moment you don't know if there is an issue so continue as if there isn't :)

Ginandtonic31 · 28/10/2019 12:38

@Mrbay i think it's just at the forefront of my mind as it's so prevalent in my husband's family and he knows exactly how to spot it and an oversized tummy is the first sign followed by green vomit and no poo.

Welshpugmomma · 29/10/2019 15:03

Hi ladies been AWOL for the last week or so sounds like we have a positive wave going on, woop @Zest11 and @Mrbay...

Wow can't believe you girls all shopped already I refuse to even think about shopping til Jan I think, hoping to get some good sale stuff and at least have concrete ideas of what I'd like by then!

Finally managed to get my scan yesterday which was so lovely :) I did have to stop the lady half way through as I was very close to passing out I felt so embarrassed, but she was lovely and I think it was just from lying on my back and the pressure of the scan on my stomach! I resisted and haven't found out so baby neutral continues, interestingly they changed my dates back to the original IVF date... ( I argued with the NHS at my first booking in appointment but
they refused to go by anything other than scan measurements despite the obvious scientific nature) so due date now the 16th March again :)

@KittyKatSmile knitting looks bloody beautiful! I love it... Hope your getting all organised with the move to Jersey

@Ginandtonic31 did you mention it at your scan? I think it could just be proportion wise they do seem to have a big stomach at this stage,(and gangly legs!) I would say don't worry too much now as there's little you can do at this stage...

Trying not to be smug with the hot bath talk, as I'm loving a cool shower! normally love the sun and warmth but I sure am struggling with the heat out here at the moment just can't seem to keep cool and I get really bad headaches as soon as I've been out for any time!

Sorry for the long one and if I've missed any major points, hope your all having a good week so far x

Mrbay · 29/10/2019 16:30

@Ginandtonic31 - I can imagine that would play on your mind. Fingers crossed its not and the baby had gas, can they get gas in the womb?

@Welshpugmomma - thank you! I still don't believe it and won't be overly excited until my 6/7-week scan which is over 2-weeks away. Looks like FET was the ticket for myself and @Zest11 :)

How are you finding the US?

Ref bath, I think I'll wait until after my first scan, just in case.

Zest11 · 29/10/2019 17:09

@Welshpugmomma Congratulations with your scan! How lovely. I am also so very very jealous of what sounds like lovely weather for you. It's been horribly cold today!

@mrbay that g and t variation sounds lovely...I will defo try that. I have been getting slightly ahead of myself and googling non alcoholic mulled wine!! What date is your scan booked for? Mine is in 3 weeks so it should be fairly conclusive if I make it that far (still very very cautious but trying to enjoy the moment).

I had my bloods done today. Over 3000. Yes. Three THOUSAND. (FYI only 1 embryo was transferred!) I have obviously been googling like crazy and Dr Google has been terrifying. 5 days ago I got my gp to do them because i thought I wasn't going to make it to OTD and it turned out to be around 200. So it's more than doubling...a lot more than doubling. My clinic were not bothered at all so I am just going to try and take each day as it comes and stick with the mantra that "today I'm pregnant and my clinic are not concerned."

Zest11 · 29/10/2019 17:14

@Ginandtonic31 Did you speak to the person scanning you about it? I don't think measurements etc are a science at all. (To be one of those annoying people) One my friends had a baby that was measuring in the top 90-95 percentile throughout the whole of her pregnancy. Baby turned out to be just over 7lbs when it was born 1 week late...

Welshpugmomma · 29/10/2019 17:15

Yay stick with that @zest11 sounds wonderful :) I really am so happy for you guys I know it's early days but it's a good sign and right now you are both pregnant .!!
Reason to celebrate in itself :)

I've been missing the alcohol since moving there's just something about the sun that makes me want a a beautiful cocktail at any opportunity ;)

I've been eating a tonne of ice cream and DH is trying his best to restrict my crap intake haha my answer to everything is that baby likes it !!

KittyKatSmile · 29/10/2019 17:23

@Zest11 you know that IVF babies are more likely to split into identical twins don't you?! (I may have made that up). So could still be two in there!! Join the Facebook group 'pregnancy after IVF'; you can read about fun things like this every day....!

@Welshpugmomma I'm glad you're enjoying the sun. Not jealous at all.... Glad things are going well. You should look at the Black Friday sales; you're likely to get amazing bargains then.

OP posts:
Ginandtonic31 · 29/10/2019 18:13

@Zest11 @KittyKatSmile smile is right, there's more chance of splitting with IVF. What day post transfer was 200 and what day was 3000? I was about 250 or something 9dp5dt.

I didn't mention anything at the scan as I didn't think about it until we got home (my husband's eldest had the disease at birth and his tummy just got bigger and bigger until he puked his own poo which I know is gross but how this). But even if I mentioned it nobody has a clue what it is. And there's no telling in the womb. I'm not dwelling on it for now. What will be will be. It was more her head and legs are around 50th percentile but stomach 97th so it's very much out of proportion but nobody seemed bothered.

@Mrbay I don't know if they can get gas but they can swallow fluid so maybe she'd just had a drink. Or perhaps she has my large tummy! Did the spotting calm down?

@Welshpugmomma nice to hear from you! I've only looked at peaks as my parents are buying it and with Black Friday just around the corner I wanted to get an idea in case any amazing deals came up! And then if not we've Christmas too. We aren't doing her bedroom until the new year as we've two other bedrooms I want doing first!

I'm a bit weird that even when I'm hot I love a very hot shower or bath. I just can't do cold or luke warm!

Zest11 · 29/10/2019 18:41

@Ginandtonic31 Ahh I see. No there is no point in dwelling and if no one seems bothered then I wouldn't worry. Enjoy it all. Oh god, I thought @KittyKatSmile was joking! What if it's not twins? Quads?!! Or even more?? Shock

Ginandtonic31 · 29/10/2019 18:48

@Zest11 what day post transfer was it 200?

Ginandtonic31 · 29/10/2019 18:54

Also is anyone around 20 weeks tracking weight? What have you gained and are you showing? I seem to have popped this week although still look fat. I've gained 9lb.

Zest11 · 29/10/2019 18:57

@Ginandtonic31 9! I'm just telling myself it's different hospitals/counties so they measure things differently...

Ginandtonic31 · 29/10/2019 19:01

@Zest11 I was 9 days and 250 or something. Don't worry.

Welshpugmomma · 29/10/2019 20:21

@Ginandtonic31 I've gained over a stone already 🤣 can't stop me once I'm on a roll
... Been trying to get out joined a prenatal yoga class which is lovely and also joined some mummas to be from a forum for lunch today which was also very nice makes me feel so much better getting to talk to other people and the pregnancy is a nice common grounding... I would have loved to meet up with you girls in the UK at some point, I will feel so jel if you all ever do catch up haha!

KittyKatSmile · 29/10/2019 21:51

Oh yeah I've definitely put on weight although haven't weighed myself for a while and am in kgs for some reason I don't really know. Think it was around 5kg last time I checked, but even that start weight was after injections so was probably 2-3kg more than my 'normal' weight. Overall, a squat heifer. Although someone in that Facebook group put on 6 stone! She posts the photo quite often when the topic comes up and it terrifies me!!

Lovely to hear you're making preggo friends @Welshpugmomma. Most of my friends seem to be pregnant anyway so I'm just sticking with them! Did I ever tell you guys that my best friend is also pregnant? Remember when I saw her bum drugs in the fridge so was pretty sure she was?! She's exactly one month behind me!!

OP posts:
Mrbay · 30/10/2019 17:36

@Zest11 - thanks! I had the strawberry and mint cordial today - LUSH!
Non alcoholic mulled wine that is nice, is I think red grape juice with orange juice plus a bit of brown sugar and then grab mulled spice tea bags from Sainsbury - went down a treat at work. For mulled cider use apple juice and the mulled spice tea bag and a little brown sugar.

@Ginandtonic31 - that does sound horrible, poor baby. Perhaps it was swallowed fluid, it is a small snap shot of that day. I would go armed with a few questions at your next scan if everything hasn't balanced out as a forewarned team is one that can prep.
the spotting has settled down now, it was only very minimal to start with.

I am wondering, should I have had bloods taken?? You all seem to have had them done. @zest11 - did you have them done at the clinic or via your GP?

@KittyKatSmile - I read that too, that 5-day blastocysts have a higher than normal rate of splitting. But splitting only takes place upto 9-days. When I was little I thought twins would be cute, now my viewpoint has completely changed!

Ref weight, I'd gain a few stone from stopping riding competitively and the hormones have caused me to gain some timber.
I've got a mess do soon and I need a new dress, well i can tell you I dislike my new body, I looked awful! I felt so rude as I was complaining about my new shape and the assistant was lovely saying she'd kill for my stomach and my reply, well I've never been this fat before. God I am a cow!

@Welshpugmomma - I'm glad that you are starting to make a friendship group and yes had we all be in the UK I would have loved to met up. Just to see what Keith looked like really!

@KittyKatSmile - thats lovely news, you'll have someone to spend time with when you are on mat leave.

I just wanted to say, mouse1234567 (I won't tag you just in case), I am thinking about you and I do have everything crossed that you are ok.

Zest11 · 30/10/2019 18:14

@Welshpugmomma glad you have been getting out and about, meeting new pregnancy people. How have you settled in to US life? It must be a good month you have been there now?

@mrbay wow, thanks for those suggestions! I'm not much of a drinker anyway so I will definitely give those a go. Not sure about getting bloods done, it's probably only worth getting if you're hugely concerned about mc or your clinic make you..I got one done by gp before OTD just for the evidence for my file if I need to appeal for more funding as I thought it would be a cp. Then the 2nd was because my nhs clinic made me so they could check the number was okay before ordering more drugs. To be honest, it's just more things to worry/google so I'm not sure there would be any point in your situation unless you get proper blood.

@KittyKatSmile so so pleased for you that your best friend is pregnant too. That will be such fun for you both and it must be so nice to share stories and things with each other now...especially as you both went through IVF! I'm hoping my friend falls soon..it was their 1 year anniversary recently and they were abroad for it. The weather was bad...hopefully there wasn't much else for them to do apart from each other! GrinGrinGrin They also bought a 5 bed house a year or so ago...Another Miss Marple here perhaps?

Ref the twins talk. I've been consulting with Dr Google and he has come up with all sorts: ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, multiples and singletons. I have also found all sorts of charts that suggest that 3000 at 19dpo is really not that excessive and some people have doubling times of just 16 hours!!! To be honest, regardless of what happens next I'm so pleased to find out I can actually get pregant, my body can produce all these hormones to support a pregnancy and if it doesn't work this time we can keep on trying. If it's multiples then there's nothing we can do about it and we will just have to embrace it.

mouse1234567 · 30/10/2019 18:54

@Mrbay thanks for your well wishes. Hope you are getting on ok.

@Zest11 re the HCG levels -I too have been doing numerous pieces of research on it-but because mine was so low!!(bet we saw all the same websites on doctor google! ) and it seems to be that it is so varied for each pregnancy-the ranges are so huge for each day. You would def see the sack on an ultrasound now -I saw it the day after mine was over 3000. Not that I’m suggesting that -that was only because of my bleed -best to wait longer for heartbeat.

All ok with me -pushing on through till Friday’s scan. Had a bit of blood today -but loads and pinkish Brown -so stressful! Fingers crossed it all looks good on Friday. Also wonder whether I have felt little queasy yesterday eve and this eve-seems worse at night.

mouse1234567 · 30/10/2019 18:55

Sorry that was meant to say -not loads of blood -only a little!

Zest11 · 31/10/2019 18:52

@mouse1234567 Definiteoy a good sign with the symptoms. I wish you so much luck for tomorrow and really hope it goes well for you. I will be thinking of you. Xxx

KittyKatSmile · 31/10/2019 19:54

@mouse1234567 sending all best wishes for tomorrow. Fingers crossed lovely lady x

Good luck for tomorrow @mouse1234567 but it sounds positive.

Oh Lidl are bring out an alcohol free gin - woohoo!!

I'm struggling today, I am wanting to feel excited about actually getting a positive but knowing I need to wait for a few more weeks to find out if everything is ok is ruining it all.
