Sorry that was @mouse1234567. I just got confused.

mouse1234567 · 17/10/2019 18:54

Hi all,

Thanks for asking after me. So the scan went ok and the embryo was there and measuring correctly but they asked me back in two weeks (I know -how am I meant to wait that long!? ) to check progress. Luckily I pushed for next Friday -he said fine but I might not get a definitive answer. There was a lot of blood and cramping, blood has stopped now but I do feel cramps. To be honest I’m really preparing myself for the worst, I just don’t imagine it will be good news next week. Trying to work in stating the acceptance process.

That being said, if some of you did have bleeding stories, could you share? This was a significant amount of blood.

Thanks all.

Ginandtonic31 · 17/10/2019 19:42

@mouse1234567 they will want to push it on as they can't tell if viable until about 6 weeks when there's a heart beat. It's a lot better if you can wait it out. I had 3 bleeds with my biggest at 10 weeks. But I had a haematoma which is quite common in ivf. And I think @Cauliflower82 or @Welshpugmomma has the same?

Mrbay · 17/10/2019 20:16

@ginandtonic31 - thank you! I have a pretty active digestion.

@mouse1234567 - as I've not got that far I cannot comment, but I'm really sorry that you are stuck in limbo.
Some woman continue to have What they think is their period monthly and go.on to have a healthy baby. Big hugs x

KittyKatSmile · 17/10/2019 22:09

@mouse1234567 how far are you right now? Agree with @Ginandtonic31 below. If you are rescanned too early you will still 'just' be able to see the embryo and sac etc, without yet being able to see a heartbeat, which is what you really want. I would wait as far into week 6 as you can....
I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Try to stay strong.

@Mrbay I don't recall the poo delay but I was very constipated from the bum drugs... am now back to my usual 8 a day though so that's just fabulous....

Pineapple core, beetroot juice, plenty of laughter xx

@mouse1234567 yeah I did have some too for one morning and it terrifies me. I still find it incredibly difficult to even think about. I was scanned the next day and all looked good but had to return after about a week and a half to hear the heartbeat. I’m sending lots of love, it’s such a hard time and I hate the thought of anyone having to go through it.

Zest11 · 24/10/2019 19:40

Deliberately not tagging people as they may be avoiding here but just to let mouse know that I am thinking of you and wish you luck for tomorrow. Mrbay I am thinking of you too.

1 day left of work and then I have half term. Conveniently getting my end of term cold in time for the holidays Angry I have some nice plans with friends so I should be kept nice and busy yet can have some time to relax! How has everyone else been? Updates please? Are 20 week scans on the horizon or have they been and gone?

Anyone got any book recommendations? I am reading one called 'Sleep' but I will probably finish that at the weekend so need something else for my week off Xx

KittyKatSmile · 24/10/2019 20:37

@Zest11 hi hi! I am so envious of half term. Not that I do much when I'm actually at work. Although did spend the day visiting one of our airports today (that's my job! Managing airports!)

My 20 week scan is next week. At 22 weeks Grin All going well here. Will be interesting to see where 'she' is on the growth charts because although I felt huge earlier on, I'm actually quite small now I think.

Books recommendations (and I'll be following this!):
Am going to get the new John Le Carre one and the new Lee Child one soon. Will both be light reading I think.
Just finished Beneath a Scarlet Sky - wwII fiction if you're interested in that.
Am going to get Big Sister Little Sister Red Sister soon; about Chinese dynasties.
Not sure about the new Margaret Atwood; has anyone read it?

Sorry for the rambling book club; hope someone else has got some good stuff to share!

Ginandtonic31 · 24/10/2019 20:54

Hello!

@KittyKatSmile I've read the Margaret Atwood one. It's worth a read if you seen the series (if you haven't some bits may not make sense!). I enjoyed it. I like anything by Lisa Picoult and I'm going to try the follow on the The Tattooist of Auschwitz next (can't remember the title but it's about Cilca). Currently reading My Lively Wife but I can't get into it! I don't think I like it.

My 20 week scan is on Monday. 20 weeks tomorrow. I'm terrified they will find something wrong! Or say it's a boy actually!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Ginandtonic31 · 24/10/2019 20:54

*lovely

Cauliflower82 · 24/10/2019 21:10

We had our 20 week scan today and Pip is a boy!!

Zest11 · 24/10/2019 21:19

Oooh good luck next week both of you!! Lol imagine that @Ginandtonic31 "Since your last scan, the foetus has in fact grown a penis." Grin

@KittyKatSmile Managing airports...why did I think you were an accountant?! Ahhh...that's how you can squeeze in all your gym visits..."sorry I was delayed at the airport" excuse?

My friend loved the Testaments and felt all her questions on Offred after THT were answered. She also loved the series too. I have still only read THT and not even watched season 1 yet. I have also read a crime/thriller series by Cara Johnson. Last one was called No Way Out. Also read one another book called The Holiday by somebody Logan and some others from Ruth Ware. All easy reading but good if you're into thrillers and plot twists.

Zest11 · 24/10/2019 21:20

@Cauliflower82 congratulations!!! Is Pip now Philip? Omg you must be buzzing if your scan was today! Xxx

Cauliflower82 · 24/10/2019 21:23

Thank you ☺️. Very possibly Pip may become a Philip but husband is not keen. How are you getting on?
In terms of books, I’m loving the testaments 📚.

Ginandtonic31 · 24/10/2019 21:41

I've read The Holiday too (whilst on holiday ironically). Like you say, easy read but didn't find it brilliant.

Congratulations @Cauliflower82! So far we've a girl and a boy then (unless like @Zest11 says mine has grown a penis or had it tucked between his legs).

My normal jeans are starting to get to tight so I tried to get maternity jeans. Wow that's a task. Thought it would be dead easy. Still don't have any. Or a coat!

Test driving a new car this weekend! I wanted to wait until after maternity as I'm panicking about money but it might be a good deal...

KittyKatSmile · 24/10/2019 22:51

@Ginandtonic31 'starting to get tight'?! I haven't been in my real jeans for 12 weeks now!! Try H&M for jeans; they're the best. I'm never going back.

@Zest11 I am an accountant by training, yes, you're right but I work in asset management (clear as mud now I'm sure!)

@Cauliflower82 I always had it in my head that Pip would be a boy actually. Maybe because of his Pip name. So we need to know if @Welshpugmomma is finding out. I'm still team grey (not Christian) but I reckon Tiny is a girl. She's definitely a tap dancer anyway.

On the book topic, I got spurred on by our conversation and finished 'My sister; the serial killer'. A bit blah, but ok. I'm now (in the last 3 hours) 30% through The Marriage Trap. Very easy reading, should be finished by lunch tomorrow (@Zest11 I'll finish it off in the gym Grin)

Lovely to hear from you all x

Ginandtonic31 · 25/10/2019 08:01

@KittyKatSmile they're stretchy and were slightly big to start with! The trouble I'm having is length! I need a 34 inch leg and standard just looks ridiculous. I've seen some in mothercare online in 34 leg but always sold out!

KittyKatSmile · 25/10/2019 08:18

@Ginandtonic31 I think I'm going to a 'real' Mothercare tomorrow; I'll keep a lookout and get you some if I see them. 34 inches would probably go up to my shoulders!!

OP posts:
Ginandtonic31 · 25/10/2019 10:14

@KittyKatSmile I'm off to one too. I'm by sure I can tolerate the high elastic yet so I need to try them on (looking for the indigo ones).

The standard length look stupid on me. I'm only 5ft 6 but long legs

Mrbay · 25/10/2019 11:56

hey girls!

mouse, I do hope you are ok.

@zest11 - yay half term!!

@califlower82 - congrats on your little boy :) Hopefully Keith will be able to knit you a gender neutral cardie ;) Sorry, I had to put it!!

So.... I still haven't had my period, last time it was full on (on this day) so this is a total step in the right direction and I may have take a few tests to see and they have been positive! I've not told DH at the moment as I've been cramping since Tuesday/Wednesday so I think my period may be on it's way and the positives are an indication of a chemical pregnancy, but it is positive that this time its started to grow, so every cloud and that. Annoyingly, I seem to have a bit of morning sickness too, the body is so bloody cruel!!

I am desperate for a bath tho, that is the only thing I am really craving at the moment.

I cannot believe that you are only nearly at the half-way point, doesn't feel like yesterday at we are chatting about our initial cycles.

One more thing, how did you stop yourselves thinking of the next steps? I've already started looking at potential delivery dates, which may clash with a wedding I am due to be a BM at.

KittyKatSmile · 25/10/2019 12:22

@Mrbay tentative excited squeal from me. I shall not get too excited.

Absolutely no way of stopping yourself thinking about next steps or delivery dates. Sorry!

And surely if we have a little boy Pip then the cardigan doesn't need to be gender neutral!! I've got just the thing finished this weekend. Will send a photo when I get home.

OP posts:
Mrbay · 25/10/2019 12:26

@KittyKatSmile - thank you!! I want to do something special to tell DH as so far he's had to do his bit solo, deal with with me shoving bit in my bum and generally being a crazy hormonal stress!

Sorry, I was trying to be funny but my written jokes are not as good as my verbal ones!

I cannot wait to see your makes.

Zest11 · 25/10/2019 12:59

Just jumping on as I am at work and will read through properly later. @Mrbay tentative congratulations!! I completely get your concerns but fingers crossed for you the period cramps are actually implantation cramps. When is OTD? Is it a blood test or at home? Definitely great that you are yet to bleed. Xxx

Zest11 · 25/10/2019 17:06

@Cauliflower82 I am good thank you. Have you any nice plans for half term? (Or was yours this week?)

@Ginandtonic31 Hahaha penis tucked between his legs...so so funny! I'm a 34 leg too. Do Topshop not do 34 in their maternity wear?

Ummm...not sure how to write this...as Mrbay has shared her update...I think I need to cautiously share mine... Firstly I am so sorry for keeping this under wraps...I was terrified of jinxing things and I was also unsure whether or not I would actually go through with it. I also had an FET earlier this month. And I have also been testing. The test now says "2-3" (which is where it should be) but test day isn't until Monday. I am struggling with real highs and lows. I am symptom spotting like mad...I have been so bloated this week but the last few days haven't been as bad. I also woke up with night sweat last night and I'm not meant to overheat. I have had at least 1CP (naturally and 11 months ago now) and I only found out at "2-3" on the test so I am bricking it for this week. I am desperate for it to go to "3+" but I have at week to go!
