@Zest11 - can't say I've experienced the gas! Sure you haven't just eaten something weird?! Did you get it prescribed from an online pharmacy? Can you find some research/evidence to show that under 2.5 is optimal? If so, just take that into them and say you have read the research and have sought medical advice elsewhere, have started thyroxine and would like monitoring, thank you.

Zest11 · 02/09/2019 20:05

@aliciawhiskers Oh, that's a good idea, I'll just say that and show the pages of research I have read. I can't think of anything I've eaten and it's been going on a week now! Hopefully it will just get better...It was an online pharmacy, yes, not some random Keith off the street!

BellaD85 · 02/09/2019 21:28

@AliciaWhiskers Hey!! Thanks it’s nice to be back and in a better frame of mind 😀

Feeling a bit scared about the next cycle, I hope we are lucky enough to get some Frosties this time as the first go only gave us one good fresh and a second ok ish that they recommended to put in at the same time. I just hope they stick around for longer this time!!!

Looks like you are a couple of weeks behind me for your cycle, how are you feeling about yours?

X

KittyKatSmile · 02/09/2019 23:05

@BellaD85 irritating as this sounds, I would recommend following some of the advice the nutritionist at my clinic gave me, specifically around protein levels. Obviously I have no idea if it was down to that but my few eggs were of a very good quality and more than normal of them made it to day 5s so I would definitely recommend trying it. It wasn't so onerous really.

They said: 70-80g protein a day (one portion of chicken or fish is 25g so also have eggs and Greek yoghurt etc every day).

Supplement with 15g/1 scoop of protein powder per day when you start down regging. When you start stims, up this to 30g in two servings. Good brands are pulsin, pink sun and solgar.

Also eat 2 spoons of tomato purée a day (bleurgh) either alone or on a cracker...

@Zest11 I get tested every month. Have just realised I'll run out of drugs after tomorrow. Really should get along for that blood test Grin

@KittyKatSmile your clinic sounds great! Did you have to pay extra for the nutritionist or is that all part of the service? Re your thyroid testing, do they do free T3 as well as TSH?

AliciaWhiskers · 03/09/2019 11:32

@BellaD85 when do your meds start? Are you on the same protocol or have they changed it for this cycle? I have been feeling pretty apprehensive about our next round - we were due to start this current cycle but I deferred it. We are doing a FET with our only frosty, and DP has said he doesn't want to do any more fresh cycles, so this is probably it for us, hence the apprehension. However, I'm really trying hard to eat better and be healthier and throwing everything at this one - if this is our last chance then I want to be able to say I've given it my best attempt.

KittyKatSmile · 03/09/2019 12:35

@AliciaWhiskers sorry, you did ask that before. I think just TSH.

The nutritionist was included in the cost of the cycle but they were either trying to be cute or were just a bit clueless (from dealing with them, I suspect the latter) as I had to pay for it upfront and then it was deducted from the cost of my treatment later on (once I asked for it to be deducted!) I was sceptical, as I am with most things but of course it makes sense to get your body in the best possible condition to join you on this journey!

I'm glad to hear you sounding in such positive spirits; that's absolutely the way to go x

BellaD85 · 03/09/2019 18:28

@KittyKatSmile thank you for the tips!! I'll 100% give them a go :-) I prepared to do anything this time to increase my chances! I know it's probably a load of waffle but i'm trying the pineapple thing this time. My DH is the cook in our house and he's fantastic at it so I will pass on the details to him and he can sort my meals out for me :-) I normally have 3 x snacks per day (fruit and eggs) so I'll work it all out and see what i'm missing :-) I'm also taking a Pregnacare vitamin and making my DH Take a man's one for quality! Someone could tell me to do cartwheels and eat leaves this time and I would do it haha!

@AliciaWhiskers Bless you that must be hard to know that this is the last round :-/ Do you think some time away from it and a break or a holiday mike make thinking about another go a possibility? I underestimates massively how much of an impact it had on my DH....when it all eventually came out I felt bad and very selfish because I made such a big deal about what it was doing to me and how I felt after the MC. I guess it's easy to get into that frame of mind though when you are pumping yourself full to the brim every day and being prodded and poked! I have taken extra care this time to make sure we talk about how he is feeling. It's hard though because men aren't very forthcoming sometimes. I hope that you can find a way through this. There is a great book at my clinic called "Making friends with your fertility" and it has a whole section on coming to the end of the rounds and what next. I am more than happy to get you a copy and post it to you (you privately give me your address) I found it very helpful after the MC. I hope that you don't put too much pressure on yourself this round lovely xxx I start my meds tomorrow. Been on the tablets to start with and just having a bleed now....it's HORRENDOUS!!!! I didn't bleed for ages after the MC and when I did it wasn't very much at all so I think my body is having a right clear out and it feels like it's taking all my organs with it!

Mrbay · 04/09/2019 10:16

Hi girls, sorry I started to rely on Monday and then work took over (how dare it!!)

Welcome back @BellaD85 - it's nice to have you back and you sound really positive about the next steps.

Keith will be pleased to hear that I have the option of becoming an official BPG.
Currently sat at work with my massive box of drugs and seeing how much progesterone they have given me, bum pills and injections. Fuck I've just seen the needle! Why is it 4cm??!!! Looks as big as what gets used on my horse, I know I'm a bit chunky at the moment but that is taking the piss!!!

KittyKatSmile · 04/09/2019 10:30

@Mrbay welcome to the best club in the world! I hope you'll be doing the right thing Grin

Update from me: I am now into day 6 of a horrific migraine. I can't sit up, be in a room with the lights on or, apparently, wash myself (that one's not really true, I've just chosen not to for a while). The first few days I was in Guernsey and had lots to do so just got on with it but there's no way I can work like this so I'm just festering away feeling miserable. Called NHS direct yesterday who told me I had to get to the hospital within an hour in case it was pre-eclampsia. Hospital implied I was wasting their time (fair) and sent me to an evening GP there who said it was a bad headache and I couldn't take anything other than paracetamol. And he couldn't sign me off work although he completely agreed I couldn't possibly work like this... I feel utterly pathetic and slightly guilty about work although that's going. The main issue is that I haven't told them yet (was going to do it on Tuesday) so they must just be thinking 'take some stronger drugs'!

Ok: pity party over. Please send cake.

OP posts:
Ginandtonic31 · 04/09/2019 10:51

@KittyKatSmile don't worry about work. Even stronger drugs wouldn't work. When I get a migraine not pregnant strong drugs do nothing! Can you ring 111 again to check if you actually should be worried in case they fobbed you off yesterday? Migraines are awful and 6 days is a long time!!

I now resemble a barrel. I have no bump. Just from my boobs to my foof. I've booked that holiday to Dubai (now worried about flying 7 hours and damaging the baby) and now I have no clothes to take with me and cannot wear a bikini!!!

KittyKatSmile · 04/09/2019 11:11

@Ginandtonic31 don't worry about flying to Dubai! I'm planning on going to New Zealand in November (ha! Let's see how that pans out! I can't even plan to leave my bedroom at the moment!)

111 were actually great, it was the hospital who fobbed me off. But I'm trying to get through to my GP now to see what they say. Thank you for your drug reassurance. It's utterly miserable. I hope this doesn't last the rest of my pregnancy. I'd need to be sectioned I think. At the moment even walking up the stairs or doing a no 2 causes so much pressure in my head that I almost need to lie down.

Holiday clothing for a barrel. Hm. Loose kaftans? Accessorise usually good for that. Get one of those extenders for your shorts so you can wear your usual ones. And definitely wear a bikini. I think that's better for a barrel than a one piece personally. When are you going?

OP posts:
Ginandtonic31 · 04/09/2019 12:20

@KittyKatSmile I would normally wear a bikini but I can't face it right now. I need some nice swimming costumes just to give me some confidence. Also need dressy stuff for the evening 😫 going at the end of September. I hate being so fat right now!! I thought about the extenders too. I just feel a fraud as I'm actually just fat and not 'pregnant'.

Ginandtonic31 · 04/09/2019 15:07

@KittyKatSmile ask if you can take any aspirin. It's the best thing for migraine.

Welshpugmomma · 05/09/2019 09:01

Hey ladies, welcome back @BellaD85 and good luck those starting on the new cycle this month. I also think they high protein is worth a shot something simple you can do daily and who knows if its that that worked but hey try anything right!

I had my scan on Tues at the local birthing centre it was an agonising 4and half hours :O the scan lady was the least friendly person imaginable! I know they concentrate on measurements etc but not very pleasant at all! Baby was veryyyyy comfortable few arm movements but she was trying to get him to move position with no joy lol there was a movement and the. Straight away back to the same spot... I wanted to get the testing done at this scan with moving in a couple of weeks, so fingers crossed just wait and see!
Also they said from measurements that I was 5days+ so instead of 12+1 I was 12+6 ! Not sure how that is possible with IVF especially after 2day transfer ... Ah well new due date is 11/3/20 (our anni) yay.!

We're gonna tell everyone this weekend :) so excited- by then I'll Nearly be 14 weeks and it's so obvious can't find enough clothes to stretch haha...

I've also had the worst headaches for the last 2 weeks cannot get them to shift taking the odd para and got me a 4head stick for what it's worth...i mentioned it at the clinic they said it is likely to do with progestorone levels and maybe as it's just stopped the pessaries it may calm down.

Anyway didn't mean for it to be such a long ramble ! Keep enjoying cake ladies...why not!

KittyKatSmile · 05/09/2019 10:24

@Welshpugmomma great to hear from you again. Good to hear about the headaches (sort of). Mine has just started to go on day 7 which I'm over the moon about! So excited for you telling people!

OP posts:
AliciaWhiskers · 05/09/2019 15:10

Hey all. Random question - how old is everyone?

@Welshpugmomma had a laugh at your cheeky baby - 4 and a half hours?! Wow!!

@KittyKatSmile so pleased to hear your headache is finally clearing off. About time!

@Ginandtonic31 hope you manage to find some clothes! A tankini is popular in pregnancy, I think. Or at least it was when I was last pregant 8 years ago! Covers a bit more than a bikini but less likely to give a wedgie compared to a costume??

@Mrbay I’m guessing your meds for your FET will be similar to mine. 4cm needles?! Bugger that! I found the 1cm ones bad enough before (but mainly because they felt completely blunt and I had to really force them in!). When do you start meds?

Ginandtonic31 · 05/09/2019 15:39

@Welshpugmomma oh god I hope mine isn't that long tomorrow!! I need to get to work!! Naughty baby!!

I'm so constipated. I woke up in agony with cramping in the night from it! 2 days and counting without a poo.

@AliciaWhiskers I'm 32.

KittyKatSmile · 05/09/2019 15:53

@Ginandtonic31 try lactulose. Tastes just like sugar and gets things going. Although you may need to give it a little while. I can send you the rest of mine; since 12 weeks I've been back to 3 times a day

@AliciaWhiskers 39! Will be 6 months gone at my 40th. Wonderful!!

OP posts:
Ginandtonic31 · 05/09/2019 16:02

@KittyKatSmile on progesterone I was several times a day. Since I stopped it's terrible! I was going to get some prunes. No wonder I resemble a barrel 😂

Mrbay · 05/09/2019 16:08

Ref headaches, I swear by a forehead stick (however I always call is a foreskin stick, thanks to someone's nan asking the pharmacist for the foreskin stick, not forehead!)
Try gentle neck stretches to release any tension around the area.
@Welshpugmomma - thank God it was external!! When's your move?

@AliciaWhiskers - I looked in the box again, the 4cm ones are for drawing up and have 1cm ones for stabbing! I have so many drugs this time around. Dislike that I'm having HRT as I swear that's made from pregnant horses urine and it's pretty grim way of life for them.

I'm 31 and started investigations at 30 (I think as I'm rubbish with timelines!)

Welshpugmomma · 05/09/2019 16:24

Haha guys just read your replies I didn't mean the scan lasted over 4 hours just the wait in the hospital hahahaha ... Could you imagine Grin

Ginandtonic31 · 06/09/2019 17:58

@Welshpugmomma that made me laugh. But tbh I thought I was going to be there that long today. I had 4 scans. Baby would not cooperate. It was face down all the time!! So even the picture is rubbish!

KittyKatSmile · 06/09/2019 18:07

Mine looks like a mutant clown. It's got a really pointy face. People are saying it looks cute even on a scan. Bullshit. They all look the same. Apart from mine, see above.

Day 8 of the migraine. Managed one day at work this week and thought I was through it. Going mad. Hoping for an acupuncturist to save me tomorrow.

Ginandtonic31 · 06/09/2019 18:14

@KittyKatSmile I think you jinxed me. I've got a migraine today. Stayed at work until 5 and in bed now. I knew straight away as started with auras like I always do. And I can't take Aspirin I don't think
