@KittyKatSmile re the chargers, I'll take a photo later and you can all marvel gasp at the horror at the sight of all my old phones. Can't wait for the TV show - you'd better get the BPG into the title, otherwise I'm not guest appearing!

You are right about throwing everything at it. I don't feel ready. But I don't know if I don't feel ready because it's just a protective mechanism to stop me from going for it, incase it fails. I'm tempted to go and talk to the counsellor about it, as I think we get a free session with her. But then I feel guilty about going to that and DP not going to it instead. He's had 5 failed rounds. He probably needs the support more than me. Anyway, he wants us to just go for it. I'd need to start meds on 3rd September, so I need to decide pretty quickly as I'd need a planning appointment between now and then too.

Sorry to hear about the gossipy gang at work. Why can't people mind their own business??

@Ginandtonic31 really pleased to hear everything went well today. Such a relief!

@Cauliflower82 lovely to read your update and to hear that you are starting to feel more like yourself. Great news :)

Mrbay · 23/08/2019 10:57

Hey all, sorry I've been a little absence the past couple of days, I've had the week off so been enjoying some tidying - I am a horder too! Not so much that you can't see the floors or every surface is covered but every drawer is stuffed with stuff! Very proud of my 3 bags to the charity shop/recycling centre. Must make a start on under the bed!

@kittykatsmiles - 🙋‍♀️ yep I'm in HR. Very unprofessional of your HR person. I've had a rumour that I was pregnant, so I marched up to the person spreading it and asked if they were retraining to a medical field. They looked confused and said no, why do you ask? My reply, oh I just heard you had a keen interest in my family planning. Her face was a picture! Safe to say, people are a bit more considerate now!!

@Zest11 - I do really feel for you, I really wish I could get you to be more relaxed about the whole process. Fingers crossed you get in front of a counsellor soon.

@AliciaWhiskers - I've forgotten about how my DH feels in this process, so thank you for explaining about your DH. I do really hope this time works but if it doesn't you do still have 2 beautiful kids 😊

My update, had my bloods and my progesterone is at the low end but I may have cocked up the timing of the day 21 test as I had my period a few days later.
Period 2 after cycle 1 of IVF is just as horrific as period 1 but I now have to contend with a puppy who LOVES the smell! I hope the neighbours can't hear me telling her to leave my knickers and stop attacking my pad!!!

KittyKatSmile · 23/08/2019 15:00

@Mrbay eek! I have just done a huge belly laugh (ha ha) at the thought of your puppy and your pants!! What are your next steps now then?

@Ginandtonic31 glad your scan went well and you have another photo for the album!

@KittyKatSmile From, HR that is SO bang out of order. You have every right to launch a complaint but just think about the effect it may have on yours/hers relationship although it sounds as if she has already fd that up! I hope your scan today went well! And @Cauliflower82 I'm so sorry you've been on the receiving end of gossip, IVF is so invasive, it's awful! I am glad you are starting to feel like yourself.

@AliciaWhiskers how many counselling sessions do you get per round? You both may be able to see him...1 of you as a result of the last round and your husband from your next...

@Mrbay I am glad you have had a week off and have enjoyed tidying! Do you want to come round and tidy my house too? You have such kind words, thank you. My brain just works too quickly although I have felt a bit better the last couple of days.

What's everyone's plans for the bank holiday weekend? I have family visiting which will be nice and the weather is meant to be good so hopefully we will go somewhere nice :)

Ginandtonic31 · 23/08/2019 18:23

@Zest11 I'm going to buy some kind of scrap book. I swear to god it's going to be a needy little pain in the bum isn't it 😂 look at me everyone. I've decided it's laziness is practising lying on a sun lounger and slight raise of the arm was to fall for the waiter for a drink.

@AliciaWhiskers I'm sure mine sees you as many times as younger and would definitely see both of you separately! I would definitely enquire about that.

Hope your results are good today @KittyKatSmile

Ginandtonic31 · 23/08/2019 18:23

*as many times as you need

KittyKatSmile · 23/08/2019 18:51

Harmony test results were all good, thank goodness. Less than 1 in 10,000 chance. Such a relief. And saw Cutie dancing around again (I actually think she may have had hiccups). The larger spectacle was my mother who had been warned to be on her best behaviour and not get hysterical but she is so excited, dear love her and she did cry.

I am showing massively now. I'm going away for the weekend, with one friend who knows and one who doesn't. I'm just going to let it hang out as my way of telling him. Have a lovely weekend ladies x

@KittyKatSmile excellent! The midwife did tell me the other day more Downs babies are born to younger women these days as older women are told the risks are higher etc so act on it whereas younger aren't.

My mum got emotional yesterday. I had to drag her out. I felt sorry for the songropher as it was an NHS emergency scan and mum was asking all sorts and getting her head up to the screen 😂

KittyKatSmile · 23/08/2019 20:15

@Ginandtonic31 they were very good with my mother and asked her if she wanted to pull her chair closer. She was so worried about upsetting me (pissing me off; I grabbed her phone out of her hand last night!!) that she looked nervously at me before coming closer. I've actually been quite mean to her today and she's so excited. I'm going to be excited next weekend I've decided! I'm going home to tell my dad as he was away last time I was back.

Hope you all have a lovely long weekend xx

Mrbay · 23/08/2019 23:48

@KittyKatSmile - I would post the pic that I sent my friend but I feel it would show too much! She is a little terror but I'm hoping that her energy can be channelled positively with her training.

@zest11 - thank you. Don't forget we've got ya Smile. Perhaps I'm a bit to relaxed about the whole thing, but no point worrying about things you cannot control.

@KittyKatSmile - glad you can the result you were hoping for and your mum sounds so sweet!!

@Ginandtonic31 - glad your emergency scan went well and your mum sounds super cute too!

Ref tidying and cleaning - I hate it! However, the less stuff I have, the less I have to clean.
Today, I've been pretty good and cleaned 80% of the kitchen (washing up and laziness prevented the other 20%)
I've done a bit of baking and making fudge.
I need to get my bro over to clean our carpets as they are NASTY!!
The rest of the weekend will be spent reorganizing/sorting/donating my excessive amount of professions. Oh and eating cake, lots of cake!

KittyKatSmile · 24/08/2019 06:45

@Mrbay your organisation sounds amazing! I'd be inspired if I wasn't jetting off on another weekend away! (Ljubljana this time. It will be raining.) I have satisfied myself by just sending my fitted work dresses home with my mum as I'll be moving back to Guernsey before I need them again!

@Zest11 echo that message; we've got you x

OP posts:
Ginandtonic31 · 24/08/2019 07:54

@KittyKatSmile they were very good with her and her excitement. Our local hospital have been amazing. It's s shame I can't say the same about the hospital I work. I never even considered having the baby at my local but now I am doing.

Will you come back to London to work after maternity or do you plan to move to Guernsey and not return?

I need to clean the house today. I've had no motivation whatsoever and I feel like I live in a pit 😫 and I still don't want to do it.

KittyKatSmile · 24/08/2019 10:54

@Ginandtonic31 at the moment the plan is some sort of hybrid. Work have been very good and said they'll fly me back to London 2 days a week and I can work from home the rest or the time. That's obviously not a long term solution so I've got some other projects on the go. Just trying not to freak out about it and just enjoy this time. I'm fairly employable so I'm unlikely to end up on the dole anyway Grin

OP posts:
Zest11 · 24/08/2019 11:35

@Ginandtonic31 hahaha, I love the idea of the baby just casually flicking it's arm, demanding attention!

@mrbay other than the cleaning your weekend sounds lovely. I love the sound of all the cake!

@kittykatsmile wow, your work sound great, they must really value you, but like you say maybe not a long term solution. I guess you have to go back to Guernsey as they have weird laws about being a resident/born there and property etc. Grin But yes, definitely enjoy this time, it's been a right palava to say the least for you to get here so make the most of it all :)

Mrbay · 24/08/2019 17:56

@kittykatsmiles - I'd love to think it is, but in reality I have lots of stuff in the house (and my parent's) that I don't use/need and it all needs to go! If I can stop needless buying of stuff, I might actually have some savings!

@Ginandtonic31 - don't stress, do it later in the week when the lovely weather has gone. I've only managed to clean our bedroom so far today, but I have gone through all the bits under the bed and thrown away my old make up. Why do I need a year old mascara - yuk!!

Oh and I managed to hack the horse this morning and now to take the older dog for a jolly - she's upset as she wasn't taken to the yard this morning! Collies are to intelligent for their own good.

The only thing I'm hating about this baby making stuff, is it's making me want to have the perfect home. The whole house could do with being redecorated. A new bathroom is first on the list!

CornishMaid1 · 27/08/2019 10:59

Hi everyone. I had my 12 week scan today and everything is good with my little one.

However, they couldn't do the nuchal testing as she is as stubborn as her mother so they have said they will book me in another appointment to try again later in the week.

She had decided she wanted to do a head stand this morning (they apparently need them to be lying on their back looking up to measure). They tried all sorts to get her to move and she decided to try lying facing down instead and then waved an arm, rolled over and faced the wrong direction completely! It did make me laugh that she was just having none of it.

KittyKatSmile · 27/08/2019 11:16

@CornishMaid1 what lovely news (apart from that frustrating part!) and so funny that they have little personalities already!

Can I ask how much you're showing at the moment? I'm in my bikini right now and there is just no way I could hide this! Think this might be the week to tell work (albeit not the HR bitch!)

OP posts:
Welshpugmomma · 27/08/2019 11:51

Aww Cornish ! You gonna have a little personality there, haha aw well another opportunity for a look-see !! My scan a week today and I can't wait :) also heading in your direction today for a couple of nights please let the weather be on side!

@kittykatsmile by the end of the day I am an absolute heffer... Deffo no hiding it's sooo rounded as well I can only think I will be gigantic in 6 months time! P.s great harmony results :) I'll be taking my excited mother too next week she's been a star and been to all my scans so far :)

Hope you other ladies are well really not much exciting to tell you all apart from I have the most minging feeling/taste on my mouth for the majority of days atm nothing will make it budge even though I insist on eating everything in sight to help shift it haha ... Explains the podge!

Ginandtonic31 · 27/08/2019 11:59

@CornishMaid1 excellent! I shouldn't have any problems with that then as mine just lays there on it's back! My scan isn't until the 6th bit I will be 13 weeks then!

@KittyKatSmile I don't think I'm showing. I'm just fat anyway. So I look more like a barrel.

CornishMaid1 · 27/08/2019 16:48

Good luck for your scans next week @Welshpugmomma and @Ginandtonic31.

It is good they will try again with another scan. She said if she re-scanned after the bloods today and she hadn't moved then that was it, so is doing another day in the hope she moves by then.

@KittyKatSmile I'm not really showing, but then I am overweight and carry most of my weight on my stomach. My lower abdomen feels a bit firmer (if that's the right word) when I press on it, but I just look like I've had a big lunch! I don't think it will be too long though.

@Welshpugmomma Have a lovely time. It is a bit overcast here tomorrow and there are meant to be some rain showers tomorrow, but then it is meant to go back to sun/overcast.

Ginandtonic31 · 27/08/2019 18:40

I've just booked in my first women's health physio session. I'm determined not to piss myself. But in all seriousness I've had achey hips these last few weeks and I've noticed previously I can't flatten my hips to the floor without arching my back. So I've got my first session next month and intend to try and keep it up so that I get the benefit after birth too.

Zest11 · 28/08/2019 14:19

@Mrbay haha I know what you mean about wanting the perfect home. BUT...have you seem peoples' houses who have kids....they tend to be...urmmm...cluttered! No point doing your bathroom! Grin

@welshpugmomma I hope you are having a nice few days away

@CornishMaid1 congratulations on your scan, hope the baby moves around nicely for your next one.

@Ginandtonic31 You will have to let us know what the physio session is like...good advanced planning on your part though!

@AliciaWhiskers I hope things are okay with you :)

Mrbay · 28/08/2019 18:00

@zest11 - I sound like I try to keep a show home, I do, but its in the style of The Slobs! (If anyone remembers the Fast Show?!)
Bathroom is deffo on the list, I've brought the basin and basin tap - well it was a steal in Wickes for £25! Reduced from over £200.

Finally I have some updates regarding IVF and not the puppy/house work and slightly other boring bits!

My progesterone came back low so no natural cycle for me, annoying! Back in 2017 it was normal so go figure! I'm due to start Burselin on the 10th Sep and that's all I know so far! I started to get 2nd thoughts on Monday - mainly because DH and I were stranded at the beach for just under 9-hrs (thanks the 5th emergency service!) but being given a date has refocused my mind.

@Ginandtonic31 - that's interesting, can you explain a bit more please?

@AliciaWhiskers - remind me, have you had your transfer yet? Or are you still on the Burselin stage?

I'm so happy that everyone has had positive scans, you never know, I may be able to show scan stories by the end of 2020!

Oh @zest11 - i checked the 91% success rate, its over 3 fresh transfers so frozen can change that a little. For my age at my clinic the sucess rate for frozen is 40 something percent, so slightly higher than fresh. I hope that gives you a little more reassurance that next time may be the answer you wanted. Are you any further on your next steps?

Ginandtonic31 · 28/08/2019 18:41

@Mrbay I've been having hip pain so thought better to get some physio now before it gets any worse. But also she will help with pelvic floor, and then when baby is born assessing my stomach muscles and closing the gap.

How do you feel about going on meds?

I've had shooting pains and mild cramps since last night and all day. I'm hoping it's just stretching.

KittyKatSmile · 28/08/2019 19:08

@Mrbay well I for one am excited for you! And thank you also for the reminder about the Slobs. I'm going to put Canoe on my baby name shortlist. Like Canoe Reeves. (Hope someone else has ever seen this show otherwise I look like a dick. Again).

Round up of where people's transfers/next treatments are please...
