Our old clomid thread is no longer allowing new comments, and it's taken me 24 hours and multiple failed comments to understand why - we filled it up So thought I'd start a new one...

@Jemstar33 @Kaypee28 I usually have my tracking scans between cd 13&15 I have usually ovulated like cd12 or 13 when I go for them & they tell me the size and amount of my follicles. They are helpful! And I have progesterone tests day 21.

@doomkittycleo that's good news, hope everything goes well whatever you decide x

Jemstar33 · 05/08/2019 22:03

@AmyMaria2 are you doing opks? Is that how you know you’ve ovulated or do you just know because of the scans? How you feeling about this round? Hope you’re staying positive.

@doomkittycleo sounds like a good meeting and he listened. Good luck

AmyMaria2 · 06/08/2019 02:52

@Jemstar33 they usually tell me I've ovulated or that I'm about too when I have my scans, I also started opks last month just to see, and they did match up. I'm trying to be positive, it's just annoying when every month basically they've told me my follicles and progesterone are just right but it never happens, also worrying there's only 2 more chances but I'm looking at acupuncture and things to give the last few months the best chance! What cycle of clomid are you on? X

Sorry no idea why it posted so many times! 😂x

CoffeeTables · 06/08/2019 05:52

Hello again everyone. :)

I'm back in the tww of cycle 2. At my scan just before I ovulated they saw 2 follicles. I'm not sure if that increases the odds at all.

I'll have a blood test on Thursday to check my progesterone levels are rising. It's so hard not to get my hopes up but I'm really trying not to after I fell apart last cycle! (Easier said than done though!).

Sending good luck to everyone.

Jemstar33 · 06/08/2019 07:05

@AmyMaria2 😂😂
That’s good to know that the opks are matching up. I’m not being monitored but I’m using opks twice per day. I really hope this next cycle is the one for you 🤞🏽🤞🏽 acupuncture is a good idea!
I’m 15 days post miscarriage, waiting for my period to start to begin cycle 2. Part of me is desperate for clomid to work again the other part of me is worrying I’ll mc again or that I won’t get pregnant again. Just trying get to stay positive! X

Jemstar33 · 06/08/2019 07:06

@CoffeeTables good luck, let us know what happens on Thursday.

AmyMaria2 · 06/08/2019 09:52

@Jemstar33 I'm so sorry about your mc. I'm sure the clomid will work for you, if it worked on cycle 1, you obviously react well to it. Good luck for cycle 2, and a healthy pregnancy xx

girlrunningoncheese · 06/08/2019 19:20

Hi ladies

I'm on CD5 of Clomid cycle 2 and just had a very relaxing acupuncture session. Followed by my first ever baby bombing my good friend let me know she couldn't meet me for dinner this week as she's pg and it really knocked me for six because she's only been with her bf a few months. Which is not a judgemental comment, only that I literally couldn't have been caught off guard - you know how you have some announcements that are totally expected and therefore easier to handle? This one was really not that! Anyway, needed a bit of a moan before I get home because DH will def think I'm a lunatic for being a bit down about it!

@CoffeeTables fingers crossed for you in your 2ww!

@Jemstar33 also fingers still crossed that your cycle will start again soon.

Jemstar33 · 06/08/2019 19:35

@girlrunningoncheese thank you. It’s hard not to judge and feel down but just know it’s normal. I felt the same too I’ve seen lots of my friends get pregnant so easily and it’s really hard I’m happy for them but I can’t help but feel upset about it too. What was the acupuncture like? X

girlrunningoncheese · 06/08/2019 19:49

@Jemstar33 it's reassuring that it's not just me, I feel like a horrible person but rationally I know that her ability to conceive has nothing to do with mine!!

Acupuncture was good - I've had 4 sessions so far and find it really relaxing. They put the needles in different places depending on where you are in your cycle. Apparently at this point it's all about "nurturing" and building up the womb lining again. Who knows if it makes any difference but I am lucky that my healthcare pays for it so I'll try anything Grin

Kaypee28 · 06/08/2019 23:43

Well my opks are getting darker then lighter then darker no peak. Who knows what's going on x

CoffeeTables · 07/08/2019 01:59

Thanks @Jemstar33 and @girlrunningoncheese - fingers crossed for you both as well.

I know what you mean about unexpected announcements. I felt like I was getting better at handling them but they still knock me. Sometimes I feel like an awful person because my first thoughts are "why not me" rather than feeling happy for them. I worry that infertility is making me bitter!

CoffeeTables · 07/08/2019 02:03

Oops pressed post too early!

That's really interesting about your Acupuncture @girlrunningoncheese - I always wanted to try it for quitting cigarettes but never got around to it (and fortunately was able to quit years ago using patches). I didn't realise you could use it for fertility.

Fingers crossed your cycle starts again soon @Jemstar33 - I'm so sorry to hear about your mc. What an emotional rollercoaster.

girlrunningoncheese · 07/08/2019 08:11

@CoffeeTables the lady I go to runs a clinic that specialises in acupuncture for fertility so it's very focussed on that. I don't know much about it for other problems. The idea is that the needles stimulate blood flow to places like the ovaries and womb at different points in the month. Although my gynae (who recommended it along with the Clomid) is more inclined to believe it's because it helps with stress levels - who knows, if it might help, I am happy to try!

Does anyone take cough syrup to help with CM? I am not sure which one I should get.

doomkittycleo · 07/08/2019 09:14

@girlrunningoncheese I have taken cough syrup in the past, I used it the month I conceived DD, so it may have helped.

Clomid really does dry it up, so anything that helps.

You want this one!

@doomkittycleo ooh a rave review then! Thanks so much, I will hunt that down Smile

Jemstar33 · 07/08/2019 10:31

@AmyMaria2 @CoffeeTables thank you for your lovely comments xx

Goingbacktokansascity · 07/08/2019 11:59

Day 35 in the big brother house 🙈 no period, no positive pregnancy test, just sitting here in limbo land. Have an appointment Friday to get letrozole increased to 7.5 which is what I had when I conceived my son but the side effects were awful at that dose and I’m not sure they’ll let me do it again. I’m assuming I haven’t ovulated this month hence the long cycle but there’s that little bit of hope. Please just hurry up and come AF!

Kaypee28 · 07/08/2019 22:18

Everyday I say I am stopping these but everyday I continue 😂 they always look dark-ish at night then light again in the morning. Is this just standard PCOS? I doubt the clomid has worked this month I've never ovulated this late x

Jemstar33 · 08/08/2019 01:04

@Goingbacktokansascity I bet you’re so fed up! Good luck with the appointment on Friday

@Kaypee28 I’ve just started using that Premom app and I don’t rate it, I can get different readings depending on the angle of the photo.
I don’t have PCOS so I’m not sure if it’s normal but don’t lose hope

CoffeeTables · 08/08/2019 02:01

Hi all :)

Sorry to hear you're in limbo land @Goingbacktokansascity - I know how frustrating that can be.

I had my final blood test this morning to check my progesterone levels. All was good so now I wait until the 17th to do a pregnancy blood test (unless I get my period beforehand). Last cycle I drove myself crazy symptom spotting and I promised myself I wouldn't do it again. It's so hard not to though.
