Hi all, been MIA for a few days but saw my consultant today.
He’s going to do a scan to check on this suspected cyst, but said it usually takes 6-8 weeks for them to go on their own.
He said that he doesn’t want to try anything else as there’s no evidence base for anything further except IVF.
He did say that it looks like I was ovulating before, but just not getting pregnant, so has said my infertility is unexplained.
He said he is confident that if we kept trying we would conceive naturally eventually, although it could take a long time.
He said DP’s sperm sample was in the top 10% and that he could probably impregnate a Brussel sprout with it 🙈😂.
So he said our odds of success with ivf are really good.
He basically said it’s up to us when we decide to go down the ivf route, but he’s planned the scan in for the cyst anyway.
He then started talking about making BD exciting as I’d said that it has become a chore. He sex that having sex standing up is better as this is how animals do it due to the need to be able to run away if a predator comes along and the adrenaline helps things along.
I tried to explain that it’s more the effort of trying to keep it exciting that puts me off, but became upset he then said have I thought about seeing someone about how I’m feeling and I said I’d thought about getting counselling but not done it yet.
He then said that he’d make an appointment with him at the private clinic and we will discuss next steps for ivf and do another scan there.
Hopefully we’ll get there soon, either naturally or through ivf.
