Our old clomid thread is no longer allowing new comments, and it's taken me 24 hours and multiple failed comments to understand why - we filled it up So thought I'd start a new one...

@Jemstar33 glad work wasn't too bad and that you found it a good distraction. Good plan to go for a run, too - I'm also trying to eat well and keep up my exercise, it feels like something positive I can do rather than peeing on things and waiting Confused

I'm fine, think it just hit me today that this could be a long old road. I came off the pill in Jan with the plan of hopefully getting pg this year but when my periods didn't return I started seeing a gynae and ended up on Clomid. I'm lucky in that the Clomid is working - but all my friends and work colleagues seems to be having babies around me with no problem and I'm a bit miffed that it's taking more time and effort and stress than I expected! Really shouldn't grumble, I know many of you on this thread have been trying a lot longer. Think I need to do some yoga and chill the f out Grin

Jemstar33 · 31/07/2019 19:50

@girlrunningoncheese exercise and work is all we can do to pass the time!

Don’t ever worry about people trying longer, when you want something you want it. And at least your docs have been quick to act on the clomid. Is this your first round? What mg are you on?

Either way, if you get AF thats positive because then you have something to go off on your next cycle. It could be the trigger you need.

And if you don’t get it and get your bfp..winner!! Xx

girlrunningoncheese · 31/07/2019 20:29

@Jemstar33 yes, I am very lucky to have excellent healthcare through my work so my GP did a lot of tests, sent me to a gynae and he put me straight on 50mg. 1st round - he only wants me on it for 3 rounds though so I'm not sure what will happen after that if not pg - I think the hope is I will continue to ovulate on my own by then. We will see!

Jemstar33 · 31/07/2019 20:48

@girlrunningoncheese just keep positive that you won’t need anymore than 3.

What dpo are you now?

girlrunningoncheese · 31/07/2019 20:57

@Jemstar33 12 - had the trigger shot 2 weeks ago tomorrow so will poas tomorrow or Friday I think.

seven201 · 31/07/2019 21:04

@Jemstar33 I'm glad your first day back went as well as it could.

I'm feeling pretty rubbish today. I didn't sleep well and the general anaesthetic has completely wiped me out. I've accidentally picked up my 3 year old a couple of times without thinking which was stupid! I shouldn't be moaning - sorry!

Jemstar33 · 31/07/2019 21:14

@girlrunningoncheese I got a very light positive on cd12 but I would wait as long as possible to test. It was slightly positive then the next one negative. I think the clear blues are best, no second guessing!

@seven201 thank you! you’re allowed to moan, you’ve been through a lot. Have you got any strong pain killers? Hope you get some sleep later.

Hi all, so bad news and good news.

The bad news is that DP and I BD’d for the first time since we were told to stop due to having 5 mature follicles.

The bad news was that immediately afterwards I got severe cramping pain that lasted about an hour.

I rang the nhs clinic this morning because of the pains and they have managed to bring my follow up appointment forward to next Monday (thank god).

I suspect that 30mm+ follicle must’ve become a cyst and is still there despite having had af.

Hopefully the Dr will be able to shed some light on it.

Thing is, now I’m seeing my Dr sooner than expected does that mean I should change my own mental deadline for ivf (as I was using the September appointment as my deadline to conceive naturally).

I’d like to get started ASAP, but also concerned that DP is paying for any ivf treatment and I don’t wanna waste his money if there’s a chance of success naturally.

I guess it all depends on what the Dr says Monday, but just want to get it clear in my mind what I want to do if the question is discussed.

The private dr said we need to start the process by September if we want to have ivf by Christmas.

Jesskir89 · 31/07/2019 22:28

@doomkittycleo sorry you're still having a shit time. I bled last week so had an internal scan that shown I had a cyst on my left ovary and 2 inflamed follicles on my right so you can still get pg :) @Jemstar33 I never did opks I found I had enough to focus on without them just bd every other day for the full month. Got everything crossed for you x

Jemstar33 · 31/07/2019 22:47

Thank you @jesskir89 I’ll try that this time 🤞🏽❤️ Xx

doomkittycleo · 31/07/2019 22:51

@Jesskir89 I can’t imagine conceiving naturally unless it shrinks.

That pain was pretty bad, so I can’t imagine BDing again this month, unless I have a scan that shows it’s gone.

AmyMaria2 · 31/07/2019 22:54

I'm 11dpo tomorrow, is that to early to test? Really trying to hold off but maybe a faint line would show at 11dpo?

Flashesofrage · 01/08/2019 00:35

@seven201
Take things one day at a time and don’t let anyone else rush you or tell you how you should be feeling 💪❤️
After the general anaesthetic for lap, I found I was completely out of my head for three days and totalled for ten. I took a full two weeks off and couldn’t have physically done anything no matter how much I wanted to.

Look after yourself and rotate between your painkillers xx

@AmyMaria2 I got the faintest positive at 12dpo but I tested again straight after and got a negative. I would hold off, although I know it’s easier said than done, but you don’t want to be disappointed for no reason. Good luck, keep us posted x

seven201 · 01/08/2019 10:28

@doomkittycleo sorry to hear that. I'm glad you've managed to get an appointment for Monday. Is your dh able to go with you? I think see how you feel in the appointment about ivf. I always find myself asking the doctor "if you were me what would you do?" And then go from there. Don't feel guilty about spending money on ivf. I'm sure your dh agrees it will be worth it. And between rounds (🤞you only need one round of course) you can carry on trying naturally.

@Flashesofrage that makes me feel a lot better, thank you. I've got a friend who had a lap who was back at work the next day feeling fine! Made me feel quite rubbish that I wasn't bouncing back. I had a good nights sleep last night so I think that will help.

Kaypee28 · 01/08/2019 20:33

Guys these are my opks, clearly they arnt positive yet tho my clear blue one on CD11 was positive. Do they look like they are getting darker again? I took clomid days 3-7. What do you think is happening?

Kaypee28 · 01/08/2019 21:01

This was my cd10 after the 5 mins. Could my clearblue positive or just to soon after clomid?

Jemstar33 · 01/08/2019 21:35

@kaypee28 it’s hard to tell but I think the last one looks the darkest? I never got a positive on the digital ones but I’ve not used them whilst on Have you considered testing morning and night?

This was my positive and it was the morning of cd15 or 16. I took clomid 3-7 too

@Kaypee28 this was the lead up

Jemstar33 · 01/08/2019 21:37

By last one I mean cd17 on the first pic

Kaypee28 · 01/08/2019 23:02

@Jemstar33 no I was trying not to obsess over opks again, but I’m starting to already. I only test in the pm, in the am do I use fmu? I might try testing in the morning aswell. I only use digital to confirm the cheapys normally but the random one on cd11 threw me off.

Kaypee28 · 01/08/2019 23:05

Ps @Jemstar33 how many months you been on clomid? And what day do you normally ovulate? What dose and do you normally do days 3-7? Sorry for all the questions lol x

Kaypee28 · 01/08/2019 23:28

There's a better pic of mine. Hopefully they will continue to get darker.
