Our old clomid thread is no longer allowing new comments, and it's taken me 24 hours and multiple failed comments to understand why - we filled it up So thought I'd start a new one...

Would it stop you from carrying or conceiving only? @pinktruffle

6 weeks is a long time to wait it feels like an eternity. So unfair.

I’ve just enquired about some private tracking scans over the next two cycles of clomid. I want to deal with the nhs as little as possible.

Have you looked into private healthcare? My employer pays for it, I think it’s around £40 a month. I still have to contribute to any treatment but the most is £350 in a rolling year. They don’t cover any fertility treatment but I had a laparoscopy through it 3 years back and it was worth every penny I was seen within a week.

Pinktruffle · 29/07/2019 11:45

I work in a school so no option of Private through work and if I was to get insurance, it wouldn't cover anything that I have problems with now as they are pre-existing conditions, so we would have to pay out of our own pocket. We have looked in to it, we are just trying to figure out how we will pay for it and if it's worth dipping in to our IVF fund. I've taken a week off and gone to stay with my sister so I think we will start looking seriously at the private option when I get back home.

Hydrosalpinx can prevent both carrying and conception. I still can't understand how it's developed since the miscarriage as I was checked via a dye test with the NHS before I got pregnant and all was clear. I guess these are questions that will never be answered.

If you can get the scans, I think it'll be worth it, it takes the guess work out of things. Best of luck with it all and if you need to tall, feel free to drop me a message

@Pinktruffle your posts are heartbreaking hun ☹️💔 so sorry you've been thru a mc. It's just the most awful thing.
My due date hasn't come round yet, it's a significant date for us so at the time I thought it was amazing but now I just feel like it's the cruelest thing that could've happened and I just don't know how I'm going to deal with it.

With re counselling, you can ask your gp receptionist/google about local services. We have a local service called Trent PTS that you can self refer to. I was seen within about 3 weeks. I've had 3 sessions and you normally get about 6. Well worth keeping in mind. I didn't refer straight away, probably after 2 months because the dark cloud just wasn't lifting.

Hope you're doing as ok as you can today @Jemstar33

Pinktruffle · 29/07/2019 13:58

Thanks @squirrelnutkins1. I have been referred for counselling by my GP, there just aren't many services in my area and those that exist have long waiting lists. I was more shocked that neither my area or the neighbouring 2nd biggest city on the UK has no specialist support services for people going through miscarriages. I tried self referring to a couple of agencies but they either didnt respond to my phonecalls/emails or said they didnt have services in my area.

It's very hard when it feels like literally no one cares about what you are going through, including the services that are paid to care. The NHS doesn't care at all.

doomkittycleo · 29/07/2019 14:30

Ugh, I’m so p!ssed off. My AMH results are back, but they won’t tell me them over the phone.

The Drs secretary just said he’ll discuss them with me at my next appointment. That isn’t until 16th September.

By saying that it’s made me think it’s bad news. Someone please help me calm down, I’m really stressing now.

Jemstar33 · 29/07/2019 14:31

Thank you @squirrelnutkins1

@pinktruffle it’s disgusting and terrifying that you’ve had to deal with all of this without any professional support.

The hospital just called me back and said I don’t need to go in unless I get any signs of infection. She was really nice compared to the others I’ve seen. Just told me to speak to my GP if I want any help.
She said I don’t have to wait for my period to try again, I’ll ovulate between now and my period starting and there’s a slight increase in chances of conception this month.
I’ve just taken an ovulation test and it’s positive but I think this more to do with the pregnancy hormones still kicking around.

Pinktruffle · 29/07/2019 16:33

@doomkittycleo Exactly the same think happen to me when I had my progesterone test done and they wouldn't tell me the results over the phone - they were absolutely fine. So please try not to worry. You can apply for the Access to Medical records if you wish to and they will send you out your results but it's hard to make sense of them. Please try not to worry, secretary's aren't trained to read results and can't give them out so it doesn't mean it's bad news.

seven201 · 29/07/2019 17:26

@Jemstar33 so sorry for your loss. I had an early miscarriage a year and a half ago. I started trying again straight away. It was before 6 weeks so I didn't go to the hospital, just took a pregnancy test to confirm I was no longer pregnant. It's massively shit Thanks

doomkittycleo · 29/07/2019 17:45

@Pinktruffle, thank you for reassuring me. I have emailed saying that I’m anxious re the results and have asked if there are any cancellations if my appointment could be moved forward, but I’ve had no reply from that.

My Dr only works there on Mondays so I thought he’d be able to give her feedback to share with me, but no 😞.

Jemstar33 · 29/07/2019 18:15

Thank you @seven201 💔 I’m so sorry you went through it too

seven201 · 29/07/2019 18:45

@Pinktruffle I'm sorry you're having such a rubbish time of it. I'm sorry but I don't know anything about your condition to offer anything useful.

squirrelnutkins1 · 29/07/2019 19:58

@Pinktruffle that's rubbish ☹️ sorry there isn't any local support. Does the fertility unit offer any support? I'm sure I saw a poster for support at ours. It still feels almost a taboo subject and there isn't a lot of support out there. Xx

Kaypee28 · 29/07/2019 22:16

Guys can you ovulate 3 days after positive ovulation? Also what signs does everyone get during ovulation? I have cramps on one side, feel a bit unwell, sore head, so tired?

doomkittycleo · 30/07/2019 09:07

@Kaypee28, yes you can. 24-36 hours is the usual, but it can happen up to 72 hour after, so it’s perfectly possible that your ovulating now.

Having said that I’ve never felt unwell with ovulation, only ever had cramps which were very localised around my ovaries.

Kaypee28 · 30/07/2019 10:26

Thank you @doomkittycleo I had bad cramps in the ovary area, felt really unwell and it made me vomit. Feel ok this morning again. I’m on merformin aswell so it could be that.

Flashesofrage · 30/07/2019 13:18

Feeling the optimism of my first Clomid cycle fading away 😬

I took C on cd2-6 and my LH seemed to begin to rise from cd8-11 (maybe 50% of the control line) then disappeared completely 🤷‍♀️

I’m now on cd16 with absolutely no colour on OPKs.
I have the most consistent temp I’ve ever had during follicular phase but I don’t feel like something is on its way to happening 😕

Jemstar33 · 30/07/2019 13:53

@Flashesofrage I wouldn’t be too disheartened, opks are not very accurate on clomid. Try to stay positive x

Kaypee28 · 30/07/2019 14:37

@Flashesofrage that happened me I had lines from CD9 that are now very light, I tested with a clear blue opk CD11 and got a positive, if I hadn’t I would have had no clue what was going on. I think I have ovulated yesterday CD14 but who knows. 2 years ago when I got pregnant I ovulated CD23 so don’t worry your not out yet. X

girlrunningoncheese · 30/07/2019 16:26

Hi ladies!
First cycle of Clomid for me and now 11 dpo. Day 21 test had my progesterone at 175 which is great because I def ovulated but also way higher than most numbers I've seen in these threads so I'm not sure what that means.
Guess I can test on Thursday but we have visitors at the weekend and I can't decide whether it would be worse to get a BFN and be sad or wait and prolong the not-knowing...really sympathise with some of you who have been playing this games for months/years because this is just the beginning for me and I'm already going slightly mad!
Also having acupuncture, not sure if it will make any difference but it is suuuuuper relaxing so I guess that can only help matters!

Jemstar33 · 30/07/2019 17:45

@girlrunningoncheese I’m not sure what it means either sorry, I’m not being monitored but that sounds positive.

Good luck with whatever you decide regarding your test. Hoping it’s a bfp for you.

squirrelnutkins1 · 30/07/2019 17:51

@girlrunningoncheese when I had a high reading the nurse said I maybe released more than one egg. Hope you get your positive xx

girlrunningoncheese · 30/07/2019 18:13

@Jemstar33 @squirrelnutkins1 thank you both!

Yeah I did wonder about multiple eggs but I'm trying not to think too hard about the possibility of twins Shock

Mainly trying to treat this first go as a practice round - it's just reassuring that I can ovulate and next cycle I will get a bit more militant on the BD schedule. DH will be thrilled - he is rather freaked out by the concept of "performing" on a specific date!

Did anyone else have the HCG trigger injection?

Doris19 · 30/07/2019 18:37

Just started my first round of clomid yesterday 🙀, the month post CP obviously wasn't extra fertile for me, but pleased to feel like we are taking action this cycle.

my gynae said chance of twins goes from 1 in 80 to 1 in 75 so fx shouldn't be a huge issue for any of us, but I heard that if you have follicle tracking they can tell whether the risk is high or not.

I'm also about to try acupuncture tomorrow!! Bit nervous but hoping it will be relaxing.

I also have Hycosy booked on Friday which I am very nervous about, heard it can be horrendous!!!! Anyone else had that?

Jemstar33 · 30/07/2019 18:42

@girlrunningoncheese I didn’t have the shot but two of the ladies on this thread previously did and they conceived. I’ve got two rounds left before I’m reassessed, I might ask for it then if I’ve not been lucky

girlrunningoncheese · 30/07/2019 18:57

@Doris19 I don't know much about the hycosy but good timing with the acupuncture - hopefully that will help destress you a bit before Friday. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you.

@Jemstar33 ooh that is exciting, about the 2 BFPs. Would recommend getting it if you can. Made me feel marginally more in control of everything. I think one of the hardest things about this whole process is feeling out of control when it's something so important. I am not a person who does well without control Blush
