Our old clomid thread is no longer allowing new comments, and it's taken me 24 hours and multiple failed comments to understand why - we filled it up So thought I'd start a new one...

Thing is, I've had HSG and all these scans before and they were all clear. Im wondering if the infection is from my miscarriage as I've never been checked again after if occurred. All that keeps going around in my heads as that my GP will want to do more tests and the results will take 7 days to come back and then 14 days of antibiotics and that's a whole month eaten up of what is my prime TTC time. Im 36 and every day just feels more and more like I'm losing this battle. How did I even end up here?!
It's really making me hate myself. I feel like everyone around me is fed up of me talking about this and I feel so alone and isolated.

impatientmammy · 16/07/2019 21:16

😩 @Pinktruffle sending loads of love. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better but ttc can be an awful journey x

Pinktruffle · 16/07/2019 21:28

Thank you @impatientmammy. Having somewhere to outlet all this does help xx

Meanwhile I just have to try and make it through another night, hopefully I won't feel so awful in the morning.

seven201 · 16/07/2019 21:54

@Pinktruffle I too wonder if my miscarriage caused scar tissue that has blocked my tube. It's so hard not knowing why these things happen and how to fix them. I was 'ok' after my miscarriage as I assumed i would fall pregnant again. Infertility is bloody hard! It's ok to just feel really sorry for yourself for a few days. Pick yourself up when you're ready and keep fighting.

AmyMaria2 · 17/07/2019 01:31

Congratulations to the ladies with bfp's!!

I'm cd 8 of my 4th round of clomid, I'm still on 50mg I'm not sure why my consultant hasn't upped my dose, can't help wondering if it would help🙄

I don't usually use opks but I am going to try this month, I usually am told at my tracking scans I ovulate around cd13-15, what cd does everyone start using opks? And is it best to test am or pm? Thanks x

Jemstar33 · 17/07/2019 03:45

@Pinktruffle you won’t lose the battle, you’ll get there and you’ll appreciate it all the more when it does happen.

Don’t leave the doctors until you get some antibiotics and a referral to remove the cysts. Sending all my love and I REALLY hope you get some good news soon.

@AmyMaria2 hey, I used them from CD9 and I ovulated between CD 15-16. I tested both morning and evening. Good luck x

doomkittycleo · 17/07/2019 07:29

@seven201 how are you doing hun? I’m now 3 days since I got a positive opk, but my BBT hasn’t risen and I still feel pretty bloated.

I’m hoping everything settles soon, this is really making me anxious.

seven201 · 17/07/2019 09:22

@AmyMaria2 I use the wondfo opks off Amazon. Someone on here recommended them. I use them twice a day. I'd start around day 10 as clomid can show a false positive if you test too soon. Also, I wouldn't solely rely on them, have lots of sex anyway.

@doomkittycleo I think I ovulated a couple of days ago but have been a good girl and not had sex. It's been lovely not having sex, but so so frustrating not ttc! Part of me wishes I'd just done it. I weighed myself this morning and have put on some weight which is not helping my state of mind! I don't think it's bloat for me. I'm trying to get fitter and lose some weight to help with the baby making. I'm also now taking loads of supplements. The metaformin (a diabetes drug given to help regulate cycles) has given me a very dodgy tummy and I have a cold. Just feeling a bit sorry for myself and fed up! I've got my appt on tues to get on the list for ovarian drilling and laparoscopy to unblock my tube, so that's keeping me going a bit. How are you feeling mentally? How's your dd doing?

doomkittycleo · 17/07/2019 09:29

@seven201 I’m very much the same tbh, relieved to not be BDing, but annoyed at missing out on TTC.

Hopefully the positive opk was my actual ovulation, cus I took another and it’s still pretty positive after 3 days.

Trying not to focus on the prospect of IVF, but finding it hard.

DD is doing fine, thanks for asking. We’ve got the date through for her heart scan now, so just trying to get on with life whilst we wait.

lori2019 · 17/07/2019 11:36

Ladies, I've just had a tiny amount of pink spotting, could you all cross everything that it is what I hope it is. Trying to be positive that I finally have a sticky one, yet not get carried away. It's CD 22, have promised bf I wouldn't test til after AF is due - going to be a long week!

Pinktruffle · 17/07/2019 12:36

I've just realised my doctors appointment isn't till next Thursday, not tomorrow! So its definitely a month wasted next month

Dinosauraddict · 17/07/2019 13:37

@seven201 - just wanted to jump in re your comment about metformin giving you a dodgy tummy. I really suffered on it, and after about 4 months said something to the GP. I'm assuming you're on 500 3 times a day? (Standard PCOS dose.) If so they can switch you to a long release version. I take two 750 tablets a day. Both together in the morning and haven't had any symptoms since. NHS use the other ones first as they're cheaper, but please don't suffer with that in silence. I was being ill literally ever time I ate. Was awful.

@lori2019 good luck

@Pinktruffle oh no. That is rubbish. Sorry!

@Dinosauraddict thank you. I'm on the slow release one and although will be on 1500mg in the evening I've been easing myself in so only taking 500mg once a day so far. It's getting better so I think it's just my body getting used to it. My doctor said to take all 3 tablets with evening meal. Do you think I should space them out across the day?

Dinosauraddict · 17/07/2019 15:03

@seven201 no you don't space out the slow release ones, you take them together, then they last 24 hours. Absolutely fine if it's just your body getting used to them! Smile

Jesskir89 · 17/07/2019 23:07

@lori2019 best of luck! @Pinktruffle I'm sorry you're having a shit time. Can you try and get an emergency appointment? Also I had surgery last year to remove a polyp from my cervix but when they went in there it had gone itself! Fingers crossed for you x

impatientmammy · 18/07/2019 10:10

Nearly there 😆🤞

@impatientmammy I feel you. Although my OPK are all over the place, really strong 2 days ago, fainter yesterday, strong again today 😭

doomkittycleo · 18/07/2019 17:24

Hi all, I hope you’re ok?

I’m just wondering if anyone has ever heard of LUF (Luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome). I stumbled across it when trying to find an explanation for why my BBT hadn’t risen after I got my peak opk (knowing I had 5 mature follicles, one at 30mm+).

It looks like it’s a cause of subtle infertility as women who experience it still have regular periods and hormone levels.

I’m now wondering if I have been producing mature follicles all along, but they never release, hence no bfp. From what I’m reading it looks like a trigger shot could resolve this problem, but I’m not sure how I could go about getting this.

I am not due to see my nhs Dr until September and wasn’t going to see the private one again until we get to the ivf stage.

The nurse did say if I want to have an official monitored cycle they could offer a trigger shot if needed, but that’s £500 per cycle.

I’m also a bit worried about who to discuss this with as I’ve read that the evidence for LUF syndrome is a bit unreliable, so worried I’ll make a fool of myself if I start asking about it.

impatientmammy · 18/07/2019 18:02

@doomkittycleo how do they test for it? I get regular cycles with a really light period and my temps never matched so I just go by opk's now. Surely though their must be a reason it's taking so long? 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

doomkittycleo · 18/07/2019 18:21

@inpatientmammy, I don’t even know if there is a test for it, I’d guess it would be via ultrasound.

When TTC DD, they insisted I wasn’t ovulating (based on day 21 progesterone blood test), but the private Dr I saw said you are almost certainly ovulating if you get a regular period. The private Dr said he’d call it unexplained infertility (yay helpful).

Jesskir89 · 18/07/2019 20:44

@doomkittycleo not sure about a lot of the above but I got regular periods for over 2 years but didn't ovulate going off several blood tests at day 21 until I went on 100mg of chlomid x

Marmite83 · 18/07/2019 21:09

Ladies, it's official, I've started my IVF. Just done my first injection. I wish you all the best of luck and I'll check in on the thread to Hopefully see lots of bfps. Good luck everyone! x
