New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

@Hopingforbabyd I thought I might look on eBay for applicators😂

@2019isouryear I've heard before people put them up the rear due to discomfort. She said I can put up either but if you do it up the front the waxy coating has to go somewhere and will just come out as discharge.

Wesstywoo · 25/04/2019 19:37

Ok so I caved and POAS too - very faint but there's most definitely a second line (transfer was last Thursday). I think I should have waited another day or two

Wesstywoo · 25/04/2019 19:38

Congrats @Deeny83 definitely looks positive!

Hopingforbabyd · 25/04/2019 20:01

@2019isouryear that’s great that you’re off least you can fully relax and keep yourself busy as and when you want to.
@ginandtonic31 haha!! I’m sure it’ll become a doddle 🙈 it’s all very alien all of this though isn’t it lol.
@Wesstywoo keeping my fingers crossed that that’s the start of a lovely BFP for you. When is your OTD?

2019isouryear · 25/04/2019 20:03

🤞🏻 @Wesstywoo

I reckon u shud be able to get some on eBay @Ginandtonic31

Wesstywoo · 25/04/2019 20:11

@Hopingforbabyd @2019isouryear thanks ladies - OTD not until Wednesday. I did it to try and feel less anxious but it's had the opposite effect! Hope everyone is doing ok xx

DaisyMay25 · 25/04/2019 21:02

@Deeny83 tentative congrats! Hopefully that line gets nice and dark tomorrow!

@Wesstywoo hopefully you get some stronger lines!

2019isouryear · 25/04/2019 21:14

Good luck with your scans tomorrow @Hopingforbabyd and @AliceAbsolum

Hopingforbabyd · 25/04/2019 21:20

Thank you @2019isouryear I’ve had no pain today I’ve been so grateful for it fingers crossed no pain tomorrow x

2019isouryear · 25/04/2019 21:44

@Hopingforbabyd 🤞🏻 but if your worried try some paracetamol. Might they let you know about your trigger tomorrow. Only seems like yesterday that we were talking about starting stims.

Hopingforbabyd · 25/04/2019 21:50

@2019isouryear I think I’ll pop a couple before hand it’d be wise to. I’m hoping they might, is that what they did with you? I’m not too sure what to expect so any advice would be great. Oh I know it’s gone so quickly hasn’t it! How are you feeling now? X

AliceAbsolum · 25/04/2019 21:57

@Hopingforbabyd It's gone so quickly hasn't it! Good luck for tomorrow, you can always take ibuprofen as well as paracetamol.
Mines at 11.45, I'm going to be lazy and not go back to work after. Feel like I'm due bad news. But I can't predict the future.

@Hopingforbabyd yes they told me on my second scan. I triggered that night so yours might not be too long away.

Thinking positively for u @AliceAbsolum

AliceAbsolum · 25/04/2019 22:07

@2019isouryear thank you. How're you feeling?

Hopingforbabyd · 25/04/2019 22:08

@aliceabsolum I know how you feel I feel really different today I’m still bloated but no pains so a little conscious the follicles have just disappeared. I’m a real worrier but trying to stay positive, it’s hard though. I’m sending you lots of positive vibes for tomorrow let me know how you get on. I’m getting EWCM which has thrown me a bit. Is this normal?
Thanks @2019isouryear I think I’ll get a little like woaaah if they say that tomorrow lol. Here’s hoping the 3 which are big are continuing to grow 🤞🏼

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 22:12

@Hopingforbabyd completely normally! It's all the estrogen in your body!

Honestly feeling nothing is fine! The night before collection and the day after trigger we went to Wagamamas for dinner as we had to go down to London to stay over and o was sat saying they've all gone. I've ovulated. I can't feel a thing! Even on the day I walked to the tube and was fine and I kept telling my DH I had ovulated and lost them all 😂

AliceAbsolum · 25/04/2019 22:14

Sames! I never get ewcm... Started to freak out that I had ovulated. Its oestrogen isn't it that makes ewcm?.. maybe the old ladies wee has loads of that in it 😅

@Ginandtonic31 lol cross post

2019isouryear · 25/04/2019 22:19

@AliceAbsolum not doing to bad but been really bloated since EC. Had my first pessary and lying with my legs in the air. Not got a clue if that helps as it’s not likely to fall out 😂

I thought the same @Ginandtonic31 was convinced they wud have gone for EC. This journey makes u so irrational at times.

I don’t think u will be to far off @Hopingforbabyd

Hopingforbabyd · 25/04/2019 22:26

Haha @ginandtonic31 your stories do make me chuckle 😄 that would definitely be me. My friend came round as some support tonight and I told her after yesterday I reckon the sonographer took out all the follicles with her heavy hand she definitely shifted something so long as it’s not those little babes! 😄🙈
@aliceabsolum I’m so glad you said that! I have been freaking out all day TMI for the TMI post but there’s loads of it and I’m like woah okay hold on a sec!
@2019isouryear I really hope it’s not too long away it gets me all excited you saying that 😁

Ginandtonic31 · 25/04/2019 23:55

@Hopingforbabyd this is TMI but I want to the loo on the first round and there was LOADS. Like a big ball!

Hopingforbabyd · 26/04/2019 00:02

@ginandtonic31 I feel ya!! It made me nervous lol 🙈

mouse1234567 · 26/04/2019 06:35

EWCM wise don’t worry -that second injection we take to stop us ovulating seemed to stop all that for me -I didn’t have any either once I started that. Good luck for your scan @hopingforbabyd

@wesstywoo congrats on the test!!

Going to start a new thread about this -but just wondering do you all work full time and if so how do you find balancing work with IVf and infertility?

AliceAbsolum · 26/04/2019 07:24

@mouse1234567 My work has an ivf policy so I can take time off for appointments. But I've got things booked in the diary for the next 2 weeks that are going to be cancelled. I hate cancelling people and feel I'm letting them down so it's really playing on my mind. If I ever do this again I'll take 2 weeks off and reduce my caseload beforehand. An extra worry I don't need.
What about you?

OP posts:
Wesstywoo · 26/04/2019 07:28

@mouse1234567 with difficulty! I haven't told work (or anyone else for that matter!) so I've taken most of it as annual leave. My clinic is far away from my work (but a bit more convenient for DH's work)
