New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

@Pleaseletitbeme have they investigated why it happened last time? All cycles are different, this cycle was FET right? It's reasonable to be cautiously optimistic. So far at this stage everything goes really well though, allow yourself to breath out and we all hope for the very best outcome with healthy baby(s) in your hands at full term!

Pleaseletitbeme · 06/08/2019 14:08

Alice- what good advice for Hoping.
4 pregnant! That would finish me off!
How are you feeling? When’s you OTD again?

Viletta- when I went to hospital for ERPC they said they don’t investigate unless you’ve had 3 miscarriages. Said most likely a random genetic anomaly that caused embryonic death at 6 weeks

Hopingforbabyd · 06/08/2019 15:31

@AliceAbsolum thank you so much! That is so kind of you to share that link. It really has helped and I've had a good read through it. I'll definitely use it in future. Today has been a blur, I had a nap this afternoon and have just woken up feeling much better. It's embarrassing because it's like it never happened 🙈
How are you doing?
Honestly, you ladies are so supportive I'm so glad we al found each other on here x

AliceAbsolum · 06/08/2019 17:14

@Pleaseletitbeme I'm feeling OK. Half determined to get to Friday, half wondering why I'm waiting so long. My OTD is Sunday, which is just insane, so I've got my blood test at 11am on Friday, but then I have to ignore the results until DH comes home at 6pm!

@Hopingforbabyd Glad you found it helpful. Panic goes as quickly as it comes doesn't it. Worthwhile nipping it in the bud or it can easily spiral into being unmanageable.

My resting heart rate has gone from 48-58, but I think that's just me getting less and less fit by the day!

@AliceAbsolum I'm also not sure.. my af is due tomorrow and I started cramping... will probably test on Saturday. Hope everyone is feeling a bit more positive. I'm distracting myself with million things to do, this helps. Have a nice relaxing evening everyone! You are all strong beautiful ladies!

AliceAbsolum · 06/08/2019 20:10

Saturday is a good day. 17dpo, can't argue with that.
Keeping busy = very wise.

How're you doing today @Hopingforbabyd?

@Viletta sorry I missed you on the last post -it sounds like you are doing the best thing -keeping as busy as pos! In general I love relaxing and chilling but in my tww last time I needed so much planned -I couldn’t sit still! Good luck.

@AliceAbsolum that’s good news about your heartbeat. Any other symptoms? Your clinic makes you wait so long! Best of luck of OTD.

@Hopingforbabyd sorry to hear you felt more stressed. I just don’t think anything can prepare you for the awful tww-I surprised myself the dark places my mind travelled to during mine. I hope you are feeling a little better.

@Pleaseletitbeme hope the last few days have been good-I guess OTD is pretty soon-I know you have tested but it’s still a nice hurdle to get to.

I’m feeling pretty good -enjoying and making the most of my long school holiday. At the airport about to fly to Greece and having a self imposed ban from thinking and talking about ttc so I wanted to wish everyone of you in the tww the best of luck -I really pray It all goes well for you all. Lots of love -I will check in when back.

Viletta · 07/08/2019 16:11

@mouse1234567 thank you! Have a fantastic holiday! It sounds like you are going to have an amazing time in Greece! X

AliceAbsolum · 07/08/2019 16:12

@mouse1234567 So long! I started at FRERs in ASDA today then wisely walked away. 50 hours to go....
I'm a great believer in where you focus your attention is where you notice things, so I could write a whole list of symptoms. But mainly I'm slightly crampy, slightly nauseous, slightly tired. Really does feel like AF is on the way, but I read a 38 page thread on a popular US parenting message board Blush about early pregnancy symptoms and out of the 100's of messages I reckon about 80% said they had AF-type cramps. So thats encouraging. I'm totally on the fence, 50/50. This cycle day last cycle I was properly spotting, but nothing so far.
It's also helpful to know the next plan is in place, we will go back and do it again in Oct, its not the end of the world. Work have agreed I can take it as sick leave, so its basically a free holiday...

@AliceAbsolum I was a little nervous this morning when I woke up but the selfhelp guide really helped, I read yesterday to "accept this is happening and go with it" it really helped and I went back to work. Lots of people were concerned something awful had happened but I just explained I had no idea what was going on and it just stemmed from nowhere. I'm able to laugh it off a little now but it was scary. Thank you so much for helping yesterday and I totally agree with you saying what you focus on is what you feel! I've tried to ignore the fact my belly is crampy and gassy today and pass it off as nerves from yesterday! You're so strong willed holding out to test! Not long now! Those hours are creeping down! X

Hopingforbabyd · 07/08/2019 21:00

Have a fantastic holiday in Greece @mouse1234567 you deserve it! X

Viletta · 07/08/2019 21:13

Hi all, my yesterday's cramps are gone.. back to zero symptoms. It's 9dp5dt for me today. Don't want to test.. will hold off till Friday or Saturday. I feel so normal, full of energy, and finally my appetite seems to have calmed down. I don't believe I can get a bfp but obviously hoping for it. Trying to convince myself I have good chances. I tried silly online IVF success rate calculators and got anything between 27 to 80% success rate for this cycle. Obviously it's rubbish..

How are you all feeling?

Viletta · 07/08/2019 21:15

@Hopingforbabyd glad to hear you are feeling better. Take it easy and take care of yourself. It's a thought journey! X

Hopingforbabyd · 07/08/2019 21:32

Thank you @Viletta 🥰 you ladies have helped me so much x

Hopingforbabyd · 07/08/2019 21:54

Keep strong @Viletta the last few days before OTD are definitely the hardest. You've done so well! When is your OTD? Not long now until Friday are you going to do it before test day? X

Viletta · 07/08/2019 23:20

My OTD is on Monday the 12th.. I am certain the test would show as early as Friday. I'd probably test on Saturday so I can be home and free to see the results.. I don't want to see another bfn..

Hopingforbabyd · 08/08/2019 00:06

@Viletta I know what you mean, my OTD is 19th but I'm planning on doing it the 17th while hubby is home for the weekend. Also I don't think I'd like going to work after just finding out either way so completely with you on that one! I'm praying for bfp for you I really am! Keeping my fingers crossed. We're half way there now to the weekend sweetie x

Hopingforbabyd · 08/08/2019 10:29

Morning ladies, hope you're all doing okay? I thought I'd pop my concerns in here than googling and driving myself insane. Yesterday evening I had a really strange feeling in my tummy and was very gassy so passed it off as that. I have been like this since the day after transfer but this happened last time. When I did my pessaries last night, to my horror there was pink mixed in with the remainder of the previous days pessary. It happened on all 3 applicators and this morning the casing from the pessaries on my liner were pink tinged. This didn't happen on my last cycle although this time I'm on evorel patches to support my lining further. Am I reading too much info possible implantation or early start of AF? I'm still having mild cramping. In my heart I'm hoping for the best but nothing seems to go my way and I'm worrying even the patches aren't supporting my lining...what gives?!! Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this before as I didn't on my last cycle so it's all very new x

Viletta · 08/08/2019 11:14

@Hopingforbabyd I read that pink or brown discharges and cramping during first week after ET is a sign of implantation! Fingers crossed! Progesterone should hold af at bay I do t think it would start early. Hope it's all good sign!

Hopingforbabyd · 08/08/2019 11:40

@Viletta me too, trying not to get my hopes up it just took me a little by surprise x

Hoping1 · 08/08/2019 15:53

I've found a crazy-making thread if anyone wants to obsess over symptoms. You have to log in but its interesting. Its been viewed 1143416 times Shock

@Hopingforbabyd What a worry, why is nothing ever simple! Did you ring the clinic? I mean they will probably just say its fine anyway. Also, you get an applicator! luxury!

@Hoping1 Thats so far away! Why is it so far away?

@Viletta Not long now. Home straight.

I'm currently 60/40 in favour of a BFP. I have no evidence to base this number on Grin. I'll know in exactly 24 hours.
