New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

Thank you @daisymay25 do the ‘mm’ sound good? I was a bit of a blubber when she was running through the details. I think it sounds wise too, my next one is Friday at 2pm x

DaisyMay25 · 24/04/2019 17:01

@Hopingforbabyd they look for at least three over 17mm to do a trigger so if three are already at 12mm you're absolutely on the right track! It gives chance for the others to catch up too

Deeny83 · 24/04/2019 17:08

Well done @2019isouryear and @pleaseletitbeme....sedatives are a great thing lol best of luck now over the next few days

@hopingforababyd sorry to hear your scan was so sore, my last one before EC was a bit sore too because the follicles were getting bigger. You have some great numbers so fingers crossed for you, another milestone done!!

Hopingforbabyd · 24/04/2019 17:15

@daisymay25 @deeny83 thank you ladies. Today is the first day I’ve felt quite emotional. I’m just so proud of my right ovary. The bigger ones are on my left one so I’m hoping for the next few days the rest to catch up. Do they all have to be above 18mm to get an egg out of? X

AliceAbsolum · 24/04/2019 17:18

@hopingforababyd Well done, sorry to hear it was painful, they really have to wriggle it about to get a good look don't they!
Numbers sound great xx

@Hopingforbabyd I'm not sure, I don't think so because at least half of mine weren't at the right on my last scan before EC but they got eggs out of 22/25 of them with 19 being mature, I think the trigger gives them Allan extra push too

DaisyMay25 · 24/04/2019 17:18

*all an

Hopingforbabyd · 24/04/2019 17:24

@aliceabsolum @daisymay25 thank you for the reassurance it means so much being able to message on here and get such quick replies ❤️ I’m going to treat myself to a warm bath. I’d love a boiling hot one but a warm one will do me just fine 😊 x

Deeny83 · 24/04/2019 17:41

@hopingforbabyd my clinic said they looked for anything over 17mm, not sure if each clinic has their own policy on it

Hopingforbabyd · 24/04/2019 17:46

@deeny83 thank you, I’m really surprised how quickly they’ve grown I’m day 7 today I’m hoping I won’t be stimming too long as I’m conscious of my endo getting in the way and causing pain. But...no pain no gain eh! 💪🏼 It sounds so gross but it’s when I need to go that there’s so much pain I think I need to get some shreddies or something in me to help 🙈😳 apologies to anyone eating their tea 😄

Ginandtonic31 · 24/04/2019 18:12

@Hopingforbabyd it all sounds positive and the trigger does push a few along. On the Monday I had 2 over 18mm and 13 smaller but getting there. In the Friday they received 27 and 25 were mature. So the fee extra days and the trigger did it's thing. They can grow by 2mm every day!

I struggled to poo some days. Sounds weird but it felt like it was squashing past my ovaries.

Hopingforbabyd · 24/04/2019 19:00

Thank you @ginandtonic31 this has put my mind at ease. I’m hoping by Wednesday I can trigger they gave me Friday as EC as long as those little follicles keep growing the way they are 🤞🏼 I’m gonna eat some chocolate eggs tonight as a reward haha x

Hopingforbabyd · 24/04/2019 19:01

Ps “squashing past the ovaries” 😄 that tickled me. I couldn’t put it better myself that’s exactly the feeling! X

2019isouryear · 24/04/2019 19:26

@Hopingforbabyd sorry your experience wasn’t great but you can do this 💪🏻 Your numbers sound like you are right on track for a great number of follicles. Hope u have been able relax and enjoyed ur bath x

mouse1234567 · 24/04/2019 19:43

@2019isouryear @pleaseletitbeme well done -rest up. Finger crossed for your update tomorrow.

@Hopingforbabyd so sorry your scan was painful. I did find some of mine towards the end were fairly painful with the endo on my bowel-all that poking about! Like you say tho-great progress well done! You should be proud -your body is working really hard! I don’t think you will be stimming for too much longer.

My period just arrived an hour ago! It’s only a week since egg collection and it’s meant to not arrive for two weeks but my luteal phase is terrible so I’m not surprised. With my endo periods are always unpleasant but this is another level. Gonna treat myself to a bath and hot water bottle. Do you think a bath a week after EC is ok? I know sometimes they say there is a risk of infection (Don’t worry no blast in me as frozen transfer in June!) . Despite the pain -I’m quite pleased it’s early as it means as long as I can get my hysteroscopy within the next 4 weeks then I am set to have my transfer in 7 weeks! Not long! I start my old friend norethisterone again in two weeks!! Ground hog day!

Hope everyone is ok.

Ginandtonic31 · 24/04/2019 19:51

@mouse1234567 a period a week after is normal. Happened to me both times. And heavy! But a bath is fine. I went swimming and had a bath about 5 days later. When in June will you transfer? I will be a similar time.

DaisyMay25 · 24/04/2019 19:56

@mouse1234567 glad af has arrived for you, it's moved everything a week earlier for. Yes treat yourself to a nice hot bubbly bath! Enjoy the two week break from the injections haha

Hopingforbabyd · 24/04/2019 20:42

@2019isouryear thanks lovely, your words are always so encouraging I love popping on here to speak to you girls as I know you understand it all. My bath was lovely and now I’m pain free.

@mouse1234567 endo is awful isn’t it, I’m glad I’m not the only one who experienced the pain the nurse did look at me a little gone out when I cried. I think because the endo isn’t where they are going it kinda doesn’t matter to them if that makes sense but I know they care. I’ll definitely try the paracetamol next time. They didn’t tell me if I had it on my bowels but I suspect it’s somewhere in that region I had it removed from the pouch of Douglas and ever since my period pain has been mainly in my bum 🙈 very strange but hopefully all will be well and I can say goodbye to endo for a while 🤞🏼 Fantastic news about af showing though not so fabulous about the pain. It is awful and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. You take care of yourself and I’m sure a little bath won’t hurt maybe just no bubbles or anything just in case x

DaisyMay25 · 24/04/2019 20:58

TMI (obviously) do the pessaries make anyone else a bit gassy?

AliceAbsolum · 24/04/2019 21:26

@DaisyMay25 Progesterone slows down the digestive system to allow the baby to get more nutriants which can cause gas it also hangs around longer. Not pleasent but every little helps to keep the species going.

@hopingforababyd I've got in my head I'll trigger Wednesday and EC Friday (no idea why!) but who knows we could be on the same day.

I wonder if any of us is at the same clinic. Might have walked past some of you ladies in the waiting room Grin

Hopingforbabyd · 24/04/2019 21:45

@aliceabsolum I have the same thing in my head too. I hope so! 😁 I wondered that today when I went into the clinic. Which clinic are you at? I’m in Hull x

AliceAbsolum · 24/04/2019 21:47

Loads further south, Nuffield, Woking.

Haven't been very active on here recently as not much been happening other than realising the combination of buserelin and progynova has turned me into a moody cow. My poor husband I have my scan tomorrow to see if my lining has thickened up. Fingers crossed. Hope everyone else is feeling ok. X

DaisyMay25 · 25/04/2019 06:03

@AliceAbsolum ahh that makes sense, that's why my stomach is always doing weird things! I'm at Yorkshire fertility, when I had my EC the lady in the bed opposite me was a regular customer from work haha

DaisyMay25 · 25/04/2019 06:18

So ladies, today is my official test day and I'm on my way for a blood test soon and will get the result around 12 but I know what the result will be. I hope this thread remains lucky for all of you!
