New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

@Wesstywoo I had what was awful af cramps from 3 days after transfer. I get them on and off but only slight. Try not to be too disheartened by them it's just our bodies adjusting and the progesterone I think

Thanks everyone. @Hopingforbabyd I'm feeling more apprehensive I think at the minute!! I think the pressure is giving me second thoughts. And I don't like the look of all the mess! I'm going on Holiday next week though so trying to switch off until after then!

@gindandtonic31 it sounds like your holiday is very much needed! A babymoon! Are you going anywhere nice?
@2019isouryear did you use fyremadel during your cycle? I’ve just done my first one and I now have a lovely red rash around the area I inserted 🤔 guess what...no blood! Yay!

@Hopingforbabyd we are going to Florida. I'm hoping I can relax as we had a short break in Lanzarote last month and I just kept crying!! I was so down. It's ridiculous.

Re the injection, cetrotide did that to me. Have you got any After Bite or bite gel/cream? I put some round the puncture (not over) and it really soothed the itch.

@westywoo lets hope its the good symptoms, fingers crossed, im due to test on Monday but clinic said i could test from Saturday onwards, so if i can hold out until sat i will. How about you?

@hopingforbabyd thank you, love hearing other peoples bfp stories, gives me that glimmer of hope! Defo not TMI, i was bloated for a good few days, cant remember which days, it was uncomfortable and had to go around with my jeans unbuttoned ha ha and also couldn't go to the loo, drink lots of water if you can! It will pass (literally lol)

@Hopingforbabyd I did use fyremadel. I remember getting a small bumpy rash on one the injections but it died down after a bit. Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Hopefully I shud be done by then, but I’m hoping to feel enough to attend a family funeral in the afternoon.

I will make sure I drink lots of water 😊 I’m really starting to panic at the feeling in my ovaries it’s like they’re sore but not sore and I’m quite frightened at the thought of OHSS. Is it normal to feel achey and bloated so early on? I’ve been feeling like this since day 4 of stims x

@Hopingforbabyd oh god I don't miss the bloating at all! I think I became bloating around the same time too! Get some lactulose from the doctor, it helped me massive! But yes lots of drinking (although I did get told off a little bit for drinking three litres a day) I could feel my ovaries doing something around the same time too. I had 25 follicles! No OHSS though thankfully! good luck for your scan tomorrow!! Let us know how it goes

@Hopingforbabyd I drank so much water on round 2 and I truly think it helped. I felt so much better than round 1 when I didn't drink much water.

Definitely daunting @Hopingforbabyd. I felt like I became a pro at stimming and I think half my panic with this next bit is it's all new and the bit that could actually result in a baby. I'm petrified of with a positive and a negative!

Oops lol @daisymay25 I completely agree, I’m a nightmare when it comes to googling symptoms so I’m glad to have you ladies here to help. I think I’m just feeling a little more anxious tonight as hubby has gone back to working away today. All will be okay after a good sleep and resting these poor ovaries. Am I right in saying not to put a hot water bottle on them? X

@gindandtonic31 I thought the exact same thing this evening! I panicked and thought holy crud...things are actually really happening now. I think when you’ve been waiting so long and then it’s here it’s like woah, okay, two secs! 😄🙈 x

@Hopingforbabyd you can use a warm hot water bottle if you need one. But I used one first round and got a bad result and didn't second and got a fab result. Not saying it's linked. Just I don't think it really does anything.

@ginandtonic31 thank you so much, I think I’m gonna just have a nice relax in bed and settle down. It’s not like period pains just noticeably there though I know you’ll know what I mean. Oh crikey it’s awful googling away isn’t it - I’ve died like 5 times today according to google 🙈

I'm 32 (33 in a couple of weeks), been having unprotected dtd for about 2 years then we discovered we have severe MF. Had ICSI last summer privately in the UK (I'm not eligible for NHS treatment), got bfn and nothing to freeze. Went to Czech earlier in April and got 2 embryos to freeze and one in at day 5! Now patiently waiting. My test date is 29th of April although I would have expected my period on Thursday this week. So hope it wouldn't come. Not going to test early, for me there is nothing worst than seeing bfn and waiting for af... I'd rather wait till I'm late to see this bloody bfp. Good luck everyone!
