New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

@phreedam The tummy is the worst place bless you, I used to do them in my thigh and then freymadel in my tummy. The thigh ones stung with the droplet of med I agree. My tummy always used to sting afterwards specially if I hadn’t squeezed it hard enough to get the string in. Hope they go a bit smoother for you. How many have you got to do? Aw thank you! Big fluffy socks at the ready and I’ll be smiling 😁 x

@Hopingforbabyd you must've been so relieved to have had injection free days! I've heard going for a short walk before EC is good to get the blood flow going :) Also brazil nuts are great (they contain selenium) great to help aid implantation (2 or 3 a day).

The nurse said it looks like a total of 10 days, so I'll be done hopefully by next Tuesday- providing they don't want to push it a couple more days.. oh my gosh I just thought about that and it means my EC could be towards the end of next week EEK! everything is so close together!

Hopingforbabyd · 07/05/2019 17:49

@phreedam it comes around so quickly, definitely make sure you still do the things you love it really helps keep a steady head and the thought of the stims simply being an hour out of your day 😘 I’ve been signed off for two weeks since EC and I’m so glad, I’m going to do some spring cleaning one room at a time and hopefully that’ll make the days pass quickly x

Pleaseletitbeme · 07/05/2019 18:53

Sooooo... having some weird stuff going on.....
AF was a total non-event...... I’ve spent the last few days just having a good time.... riding my horse, working (avoiding sheep!)
Spoke to my clinic today because I’ve had a lot of mild abdo cramping. They’ve said there is still a possibility of being pregnant.
So I’m going to POAS as planned Friday. (12 days post embryo transfer).
I’m fairly sure I’m not pregnant.... but I’m not giving up the fight yet.

AliceAbsolum · 07/05/2019 19:15

I didn't think it was possible to start af so soon after ET, aren't the progesterone meds stopping that?
Great news you're still in the running, maybe it was epic implantation bleeding! 12 days is a long time! 5 day or 3 day transfer?
How are you not testing already? Grin

Pleaseletitbeme · 07/05/2019 19:49

Hi Alice, 5day transfer so test Friday,
Had stern talking to from clinic advising not to test early.....
Might do a sneaky one in the morning.... that would be 9 days.... wonder how accurate it would be though.

AliceAbsolum · 07/05/2019 20:07

So tomorrow would be 14dpo. Did you have a trigger shot? The internet doesn't seem to know how long it takes to leave your system.

Hopingforbabyd · 07/05/2019 20:36

@pleaseletitbeme it could very well be implantation bleeding? Was it a full on af? I find it a little strange too will the meds not still be in your system and stop/delay af? X

Hopingforbabyd · 07/05/2019 20:36

Rooting for you!! X

Pleaseletitbeme · 07/05/2019 21:11

Yeah Alice I did have a trigger shot.

WorriedButterfly · 07/05/2019 22:16

I had what I believe was implantation bleeding on 9dp5dt, I tested that afternoon and had the faintest line, I didn't have a lot of blood - only once when I wiped, but had brown with tiny specks in for a few days after (so sorry for TMI- but thought it might help/reassure!).

Good luck for tomorrow @Hopingforbabyd - get the pineapple, Brazil nuts and beetroot ready!!

Keep going girls! X

phreedam · 07/05/2019 22:26

@AliceAbsolum I found this on google:

To ensure accuracy of your HPT following an hCG trigger shot, keep in mind the following guidelines: wait at least 14 days after a 10,000 IU injection, 10 days after a 5,000 IU injection, or 7 days after a 2,500 IU injection.

AliceAbsolum · 07/05/2019 22:29

I had 15000 Confused apparently it depends on your body fat % too.

@Hopingforbabyd wow signed off, that's great! My manager is a bloke who doesn't really get the seriousness of it bless him. I told him I'm injecting every day and his face dropped today. I don't really know what to do with regards to work and booking time off..

Enjoy this free time but yes you're right to plan things to keep your mind occupied! All the best for the morning :) xx

Twiglet2353 · 08/05/2019 06:42

Good luck today @Hopingforbabyd !!

mouse1234567 · 08/05/2019 08:07

@hopingforbabyd best of luck -with all this rain it’s a good day to get back home after and rest and relax!

I have my fet drugs protocol this afternoon-pleases to be moving forward but need to nag them about a date for my hysteroscopy!!

Hopingforbabyd · 08/05/2019 08:32

@twiglet2353 @mouse1234567 thanks ladies, just got the call. We’re there 1130am only one of our embies made it to blastocyst, I’m very emotional but trying to stay positive x

Twiglet2353 · 08/05/2019 08:38

@Hopingforbabyd Remember it only takes that one! My 'fair-poor quality' 3BC is currently measuring ahead and testing my patience and anxiety every single day.
So many good vibes being sent your way xx

phreedam · 08/05/2019 09:16

phreedam · 08/05/2019 09:28

@worriedbutterfly @hopingforbabyd
Last nights injections were a breeze, it made such a difference doing it slowly rather than me trying to get the menopur done as quick as poss! So much more tolerable Smile

Starting Fyremadel tomorrow morning- anyone had any experience with this? is it pretty straight forward?

Hopingforbabyd · 08/05/2019 09:31

@twiglet2353 @phreedam thank you ladies, you’ve really lifted my spirits ❤️💐

I had fyremadel and it’s the easiest one as you don’t need to get the liquid to come out first just pop it in and push. It comes out really quickly and for me it didn’t hurt, though after it’s done it forms a red rash which disappears after an hour just keep the area you did it free from clothes rubbing on it 😊 that was my favourite one lol x

WhatWouldPennyDo · 08/05/2019 09:32

Looks like some great news on this thread, and a few names I recognise from the old one.

I’m creeping in quietly from the sidelines.
Our first IVF cycle was cancelled back in March on day 9 due to lack of response. Failing at that stage completely floored us - it wasn’t something that had crossed our minds at that point. Now waiting for our second cycle to start, some time next week, I think. Change of drugs this time, but remaining on short protocol. Not holding out any real hope, but we’ll see how it goes.

If it doesn’t work, we’re going to head to Athens for tests and treatment with Serum. They are really anti the high dose protocol I will be on again (low AMH, high FSH) so it’s all a bit confusing.

Thinking of those who need it.

Hopingforbabyd · 08/05/2019 09:32

Ps. Really glad you weren’t in pain last night 🥰 slow and steady wins the race 😉

WhatWouldPennyDo · 08/05/2019 09:33

@phreedam I found fyremadel difficult to inject. The needle seemed thicker than the Menopur and seemed to ‘bounce’ off me!

phreedam · 08/05/2019 09:48

@WhatWouldPennyDo
yep I remember the nurse saying the needle is slightly thicker but im glad I don't need to measure anything out- I think it's all preloaded in the syringe so as @hopingforbabyd said it should be pretty straight forward.

Haha yes slow and steady wins the race Grin!!
