New March/April IVF thread.

I'm Alice, 34, TTC1 for 3 years 4 months. Currently 4 days into a short ivf protocol with max dose of stims as my AMH ran away last year. Its my only NHS funded cycle and my last chance to have a child that's genetically mine. /fingers crossed/

I've had a disappointing appointment. Nothing was detected in the tests.

I'm back to square one and starting stims in June.

I'm super nervous about tomorrow. We have jumped through a few milestones so far, 4 embryos at day 2 was unexpected, but who knows. Trying to hand over control and accept what will be will be.
Scared we will have to make a quick decision about 1vs 2 to transfer. I'm leaning towards 2 now, but that's quite scary. I don't want to put one back and throw the other one in the bin :( especially if the discarded one could be genetically sound. This is why I will have then PGD tested in the future (they do it routinely with donor eggs).

@findmyfeet12 sorry your appointment did not find out any extra info for you. Is there anything else they can look into before your stimms in June?

@AliceAbsolum good luck -I feel for you re the two vs one decision and know what you mean -would be hard to throw one away. Don’t worry tho the embryologist will guide you and go with your gut. You will make the right decision.

I had ET today. I embryo transferred, 1 to freeze, 5 aren’t ready to freeze but are still going so they’ll see what they look like tomorrow.

@sorka it went very well, we got 11 eggs won’t have an update until Monday though which is making me a little anxious I thought they might’ve updated us today to let us know if any fertilised. How was ET? Hoping those little embies continue to develop well for you x

ET went smoothly, we had 2 put back in. 1 blast and 1 slightly less developed. Nothing to freeze but fine with that, this is more than we expected. Got to just keep jumping through the hoops.
OTD is next Wednesday which will be 11dp5dt so 16dpo! Quite a long time really. I think I'll test on the Tuesday night as I've got work at 8am Wednesday and can't be upset for it.

@AliceAbsolum ahh how exciting! Try and keep positive thoughts over the next week or so. It's really hard not to over analyse every symptom and wonder one way or the other.

I'm almost 9 weeks now and if this wasn't ivf I would not know I was pregnant at all.
All those years of googling convinced me I'd "just know" by 10dpo, and here I am trying to reassure myself that lack of symptoms is okay too 😂.

@Twiglet2353 Ha interesting isn't it. Least there is no horrible morning sickness though. Not long til 12 weeks now :)
I'm going insane and I've got 12 days to go.

@aliceabsolum I’m feeling good, I know ladies on here have mentioned about feeling a little bunged up after EC but...if anything TMI, I think my body is appreciating deflating ovaries I just can’t stop haha! 😂🙈 I’m feeling good and really looking forward to hearing how those little embies have done over the weekend. It’s been torture not knowing if any have fertilised or not. How are you feeling? X

Just had an update from the clinic.
11 eggs
9 matured
4 embryos
3 of great quality 1 catching up

It’s crazy how these numbers split down I’m just hoping this is a good number? ET is Wednesday they said they’ll ring us in the morning with what time to go in. Is this what they normally do? X

Those numbers sound ok Hoping

On my last two attempts I only had one decent embryo.

It sounds as though everything is going to plan so far. Fingers crossed for you.

@Hopingforbabyd that's a great result, for mine I got a call after telling me how many had fertilised and gave me a time for ET then on the actual day they called with a final number, nothing in between

My clinic gives you a transfer date on the same day as ec.

We don't find out anything about numbers etc until we turn up for transfer. I know this is uncommon though as most clinics seem to keep in touch by phone. I'm not in the UK though.

Hi guys, finally started my cycle yesterday- did the first two shots last night, wasn't bad at all but menopur is a stingy little so and so when it's going in!!
Hoping to print out my calendar today so I can cross off stuff as the days commence- I think mentally it gives you clarity and a sense of achievement every time you cross off. It's better than having to keep referring back to my phone on the clinics patient portal!
