Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

@Hopingforbabyd Yay! V glad AF has arrived. When do you start stims?

@mouse1234567 All my fingers crossed for you today.

My DH this morning (TMI): Bye love, hope you have a good day and start bleeding profusely from your vagina Grin

What has IVF turned us into?!

I'm a lot brighter today as I've had the pinkest of pink spotting, so AF is on its way. Hopefully will start tomorrow then scan on Friday and start stims Friday night. I'm taking my mum to the airport Saturday morning and they only do baseline scans in the mornings, so if AF doesn't turn up until Friday she will actually have to get the train.

@AliceAbsolum so glad AF en route -so strange in this journey -one minute the last thing we want is AF and then the next we are willing it to arrive. I remember be so happy when mine turned up before stimms! It was a joyous moment in the loo at work! Haha! Good luck at your baseline.

Had the EC-was about twenty mins -find it fascinating how quick it is and that you are suddenly out of it then you wake up. The wonders of medical science! I’m now anxiously waiting for updates re eggs -will let you know.

mouse1234567 · 17/04/2019 12:06

Hi all, feeling much more in the land of the living now. Feeling rather emotional and chuffed -got 22 eggs and semen analysis came back good.so fingers crossed for tomorrow now and that they are good quality.

They did say I’m at risk of OHSS so just to watch that. Quite crampy but ok-waiting for prescription in hospital pharmacy which is slow! Looking forward to leaving and eating some decent food soon. Also managed to get an appointment moved forward till tomorrow to sign consent forms for my hysteroscopy so hopefully that will move along quickly and good as I’m off work this week.

Hope everyone else is ok.

mouse1234567 · 17/04/2019 12:07

Ps @AliceAbsolum that’s hilarious what your DH said-this process is so romantic isn’t it! So pleased AF coming

AliceAbsolum · 17/04/2019 12:11

Thanks everyone.

@DaisyMay25 -amazing we got the same number -hopefully we will do well for embryos like you too. I just worry a little with quality what with it being a higher amount and my PCO but fingers crossed. Do you also have PCO?

@Hopingforbabyd I think you also have endo? I do and I agree my period after the norethisterone was particularly (and they are never great for us are they?!) painful-I remember describing to my DH at about 4am “it’s like my stomach is being stirred with a dagger” -the things we have to go through! Hopefully tho its your last one for a while! Good luck for your first stimm-I found it quite exciting and emotional at the same time. You’ve got this!

Back home now-actually managed a meal out in the sun earlier whilst we waited hours for my prescription -benefits of a frozen transfer -delicious full on gluten pasta dish!!

I was rather worried about EC but just wanted to wish any of you ladies who have it coming up good luck and also to say it really was a lot easier and more pleasant than I imagined so try not to worry. The nurses and doctors are so lovely and take such good care of you and it’s all over very quickly.

2019isouryear · 17/04/2019 16:46

Just catching up on the thread, can’t have my phone in work which is annoying.

@hopingforbabyd as I pulled the needle out a blob of blood appeared. Was straight on to google and it mentioned how it can happen so started to feel less panicky. Got my scan fri morning, which I think will make me relax a little as I’ll know then how well it’s working. Good luck starting tomorrow.

They’re fabulous numbers @mouse1234567 you must be so pleased. Glad it went well.

That made me chuckle @aliceabsolum ivf is so romantic. Glad AF is on it’s way.

DaisyMay25 · 17/04/2019 16:49

@mouse1234567 I hope so! Hopefully they call with good news tomorrow. I don't have PCO or endo, they think it was maybe just my age that gave a such a good response and that I probably have a good egg reserve.
I'm glad you managed a nice meal before going home. Are you having a freeze all?

DaisyMay25 · 17/04/2019 16:51

@2019isouryear that happened a few times to me, I panicked too! It's completely normal though it's just where you've probably hit a tiny artery. Good luck with your scan on Friday

mouse1234567 · 17/04/2019 17:01

@2019isouryear to second what others have said -I also sometimes got blood with injecting-I think it's just unlucky and prob next time in a different place you won’t get any. But sometimes it happens. Good luck for your scan-it’s always a relief to see how everything is going.

@DaisyMay25 ah I see yes I guess the younger you are probably you respond more strongly. Yes freeze all -due to this polyp removal via hysteroscopy. Annoying but I’m trying to convince myself in the bigger scheme of the TTC length of journey 2-3 months isnt too long really-and it seems quite common to have to do freeze alls so I just have to go with it. Ultimately the docs know best don’t they. I will try my best to push treatment forward tho. Someone gave me some good advice on another thread and said there are lots of set backs out IVF and although lots of people don’t get there first time -mostly people do in the end and to think of IVF as several courses of treatment rather than one occasion. I think It’s a good way to look at it-but it’s a case of re-wiring my hopeful first timer brain to manage my expectations. She had success on her fourth transfer.

Wesstywoo · 17/04/2019 17:07

@mouse1234567 great number! Fingers crossed lots of embies for you xx

2019isouryear · 17/04/2019 20:39

I know it can vary from person to person but wondered how many days did u do stims for @Daisymay25 and @mouse1234567

DaisyMay25 · 17/04/2019 20:43

@2019isouryear 11 days of injections, with scans on days 6, 8 and 11, trigger also taken day 11 then EC two days after

2019isouryear · 17/04/2019 20:46

Thanks @DaisyMay25 how are you feeling

DaisyMay25 · 17/04/2019 20:48

@mouse1234567 my clinic told me that in America they pretty much do a freeze all as standard to let the body recover. I know what you mean though buts it's just a minor set back to let your body be in better shape for that little embryo. 😊

DaisyMay25 · 17/04/2019 20:49

@2019isouryear I'm feeling pretty much back to normal now, just tired but I think my body has been through a lot it needs to recover a bit. My boobs started hurting a bit today but I know logically it's the progesterone. How're you getting on?

2019isouryear · 17/04/2019 21:17

Glad you’re doing well. Getting on ok everything is just new so question every twinge thinking is it working. Keep reminding myself not to overthink things too much. Started 2nd injection today so I’d of thought I’m at least half way thru. Day 6 today.

2019isouryear · 17/04/2019 22:38

Good luck with ET tomorrow @Wesstywoo

Sorka · 17/04/2019 23:31

Wow it’s all very positive on here! I’m just catching up.

I had my cyst aspiration on Monday. I had the first slot of the day which I’m glad about (even if I haven’t yet recovered from getting up at 5:45 to be sure I wouldn’t be late to the clinic). It was easier than I expected, and I’m glad I pushed for local. For me discomfort for a couple of minutes at the beginning was worth not stressing about sedative, being out of it for two days and needing to find someone to drive me to and from the clinic at the crack of dawn.

I was expecting to start stims on Thursday, but they got me started on Monday. I managed to mess up my dose on the first day and underdose myself. The clinic have said not to stress about it, but I obviously am. I seem to have finally got the hang of it tonight.

mouse1234567 · 18/04/2019 07:18

@2019isouryear I started stimming on day 3-and then stimmed for 9 days which meant I triggered on day 12 with EC on day 14. I think I was quite lucky not to stimm for long but I thinks it’s because of my PCO and high follicle count. Well done starting your second injection-is that the one to stop your ovulating. I found that a bit tougher and was a bit emotional -I think it was just a new thing to get my head around and also horrible doing it in the morning. Did get used to it though.

@WesstyWoo all the best for today.

@Sorka glad your surgery went well and you have been able to start. I would also stress about the different dose so completely understand but your doctor know best and I think it’s probably much better it started at the beginning not later on. Try not to worry-you may just need one extra day of stimming to correct it.

Slept terribly this end with a bloated crampy tummy and worry about the fertilisation call. Any of you that have been through this stage felt like this? Are the cramps normal? I guess the worrying is normal-the waiting is so horrible.

2019isouryear · 18/04/2019 07:28

@mouse1234567 yes it’s the one to stop ovulating. It wasn’t to bad but a bit stingy. Hopefully the cramps will start to subside. Good luck with the call today 🤞🏻for lots of little embies.

@Sorka glad your surgery went well and good luck with your stims. I started fri and did my first injection sat. Getting used to them now but I had a panic on tues as hit a vein / artery. Never having done it before It’s hard to know sometimes if you are doing everything right. When is your scan?
