Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

Thank you everyone for your support. It really makes a difference being able to post here with people who understand!

@Chester6 so so sorry to hear yours was negative too! Big hugs for you. Not the result we both wanted. We’ve been told we get a meeting to discuss the outcome. Will yours do the same?

DaisyMay25 · 12/04/2019 10:07

So sorry @Chester6 are you due an appointment in a few weeks?
Treat yourself to all the nice things too.

Just when I though I was done with needles I've now gotta take blood thinners for two weeks!! (12 weeks is I get a positive)
He prescribed me lactulose and codeine too so hopefully I start to feel normal again soon.
He did mention that I might not have my transfer on Monday though and freeze the embryos 😞

Nemo1189 · 12/04/2019 10:14

@DaisyMay25

We had to postpone our transfer too because my wife was at high risk of ohss, that was on January 7th and they were due to go back in on the Friday 11th but all 5 were frozen, frozen transfer is 20th May, so it is a long time in between and I know it’s hard and at the time we were so disappointed and upset to have to wait again, but I promise you it’ll be worth the wait. My wife is glad now to have waited because she felt rubbish for a few weeks afterwards and it’s given her body time to get back to normal and feel good and ready for the frozen transfer. It’s such a strain on your body and you should be so proud of how well you’ve done so far! Hope you feel better soon x

LeanneMFord · 12/04/2019 10:16

I had a baseline scan Wednesday then started the tablets yesterday. My first scan is at 14days after starting the progynova.
Sorry to all the ladies with there negative I had a negative over Christmas so no how hard it can be. X

Nemo1189 · 12/04/2019 10:19

Congrats @Thund4rcat and @Agog123 - amazing news for you both. Grin

So sorry to hear you got BFN’s @Brambles7 & @Chester6 - sending you both a big hug, there are no words I’m sure that will help. Flowers

AliceAbsolum · 12/04/2019 10:45

@Hopingforbabyd

Glad hubby was thee for you. Mine will be away too, there is a high chance the cycle will be cancelled, and with it my chance of having a child that is biologically mine, so I'm dreading dealing with that news alone. But there we go.
It'll all be over soon!

Congratulations! @Thund4rcat + @Agog123 Fantastic news.

@Chester6 and @Brambles7 Sending hugs, must be so hard. Glad its the weekend, hoping you can both get support from people around you and relax.

DaisyMay25 · 12/04/2019 11:03

@AliceAbsolum why might it be cancelled?? I hope it's not!

AnnaSteen · 12/04/2019 11:08

Congrats @Thund4rcat and @Agog123 Delighted for you both! Fingers crossed all progresses well.

@chester6 @brambles7 joining you both on the BFN. Test day is Monday but my period arrived properly and with a vengeance last night so it’s game over.

Hopefully next time will be our time.

@DaisyMay25 I have read that the evidence is bringing more mixed on fresh versus frozen transfer with some evidence that allowing the body to recover from stims Could be a good idea so if it does go to FET it could be all for the best although I know it’s more of a delay.

We are taking a break for the rest of April/May but will be back to Join a thread for June/July to go again.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for their outcome. Hoping everyone gets a successful outcome!

AliceAbsolum · 12/04/2019 11:39

@DaisyMay25 My AMH is 1 at 33 years old :( I was left on the NHS waiting list for so long its degraded over time, this time last year it was 6.5.
The consultant said I may easily not respond and get to egg collection, if I do he thinks we could get a couple of eggs and that he will put 2 back in at day 3. I cried at that point in the appointment as my clinic are incredibly strict on multiple pregnancies and the fact that he was willing to risk it just showed me how small our chances are.
Basically this is a pointless hassle.

Hopingforbabyd · 12/04/2019 12:21

So sorry to hear your news @chester6 & @brambles7 sending you both lots of love and hope you’re okay x

So sorry to hear your news @Chester6 and Brambles7 hope you’re both ok and be kind to yourselves

@Alicesbsolum hoping that it can still go ahead for you.

DaisyMay25 · 12/04/2019 12:36

@AliceAbsolum well I have absolutely everything crossed for you! It's good that they'll put two in on day three if they can, seems like they're really routing for you! Just take one day at a time, are you doing shirt or long protocol?

mouse1234567 · 12/04/2019 13:44

@AnnaSteen so sorry to hear your period has arrived.

2019isouryear · 12/04/2019 14:30

Just been for my appt and all started with the injections. Been prescribed 300 meriofert, then start fyremadel from wed. Is all a lot to take in at the minute. How did others feel when it actually started.

2019isouryear · 12/04/2019 14:32

Feeling very emotional at the minute

mouse1234567 · 12/04/2019 16:47

@Agog123 and @Thund4rcat congrats -how exciting for you both.

@Thund4rcat I was just strolling through old posts and noticed you are a fellow endo warrior so this gives me hope!!

@2019isouryear glad you have got stared with the injections. It is a lot to take in-I’m on day 6 of stimms-been up and down. Got a bit upset yesterday morning when I had to start the second morning cetrocide and then again was upset at last nights injection-managed to spill some and then spike my finger with needle!! Today I feel a bit better though. It’s a hard journey. Hope you are ok. It feels like some sort of strange conveyor belt.

Had a scan yesterday and apparently I have quite a few follicles but the biggest only 11-12mm so they upped my dose last night. Next scan tomo. DH and I are off out to the theatre to take our minds off things-I told him I needed a date day! Hope you all manage to have some fun this weekend.

2019isouryear · 12/04/2019 16:59

Thanks @mouse1234567 I knew it was coming but the reality hit me more today than I thought. Going to enjoy a relaxing weekend. Enjoy the theatre.

Hopingforbabyd · 12/04/2019 17:56

@2019isouryear I’m so glad they got you started! Have you taken your first stims yet? I’m on meriofert and fyremadel too and I agree it is so very daunting especially meriofert. Did the hospital give you any wipes to put on your skin before you inject? Mine haven’t and I’m just wondering if I should do anything about it or just stick it straight in 🙈 feeling really nervous. Last day of norethisterone tomorrow and then I should have af 4 days later. I had a mock embryo transfer yesterday don’t suppose you have as well? I’ve had period pains and brown bleeding today not sure if it’s just my endo as I am quite sensitive or if I should be concerned as it didn’t hurt when she did it 🤔 x

Thund4rcat · 12/04/2019 18:03

@hopingforbabyd my stims instructions (the ones I had to mix powder with fluid first) said use an alcohol wipe on the skin too, but my clinic didn't give me any either, so I just didn't worry about it.

Thund4rcat · 12/04/2019 18:14

@mouse1234567 yeah I have endo and adenomyosis, only diagnosed in Jan via a lap after my first cycle failed in Sept last year. Fingers crossed it doesn't harm things going forward, and good luck to you!

Have fun at the theatre!

2019isouryear · 12/04/2019 19:12

@Hopingforababyd yes they gave me my first stim today made it now feel very real, and all down to me tomorrow 😬 hopefully it won’t be to bad. What dose of meriofert are they starting you on? She didn’t use any wipes when they did it and didn’t mention them. No I haven’t had a mock transfer.

2019isouryear · 12/04/2019 19:14

Back for a scan next fri, but I thought it might of been sooner. With it being good Friday tho don’t have to take time off work.

2019isouryear · 12/04/2019 19:17

Wondered where others have been told to administer stims. They told me to do it in my leg and alternate.

Hopingforbabyd · 12/04/2019 20:55

@2019isouryear I’m not sure of the dose (I should know really but she didn’t say) the nurse just told me 2 x 75IU powder to 1 x solvent so I’m guessing 150? 🙈 on the 6th injection introduce fyremadel, is that the same as you? X
