Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

@chester6 I’m so sorry to hear that. We are all rooting for you, be kind to yourself xx

Chester6 · 11/04/2019 13:34

Thanks so much everyone. I really appreciate your kind words. It has stopped. It wasn’t heavy but it was red and a bit watery so I don’t think it can be implantation bleeding (sorry, tmi) and I feel the lower back ache like it’s going to come back. The clinic said I should still go in for the blood test tomorrow but I feel so devastated as I just feel it’s over x

Agog123 · 11/04/2019 13:44

@chester6 keep an open mind, it’s not over until the blood test says it is! Sending you positive vibes x

Tamtam86 · 11/04/2019 14:10

@Chester6 oh I'm so sorry to hear that, sending you lots of love. If it's stopped though, maybe it's not over?

Welcome @LeanneMFord I'm doing a frozen cycle for a sibling this time too! Now that you've started progynova I'm sure transfer day will come round in no time!

How's everyone in the tww doing? Has anyone else caved and tested early?

Brambles7 · 11/04/2019 15:23

@Chester6 it’s not over until it’s over, so at least you’ll get peace of mind either way tomorrow by going for the bloods. I really hope that it isn’t what you think.

I haven’t tested yet, OTD is tomorrow. I couldn’t bear to see a negative, so although the wait has been torture I know that I’ll get a true reading tomorrow. I have plans to eat & drink my fave things if it’s not good. I also have plans to treat myself to something if it is so either way I have things to look forward to.

Tamtam86 · 11/04/2019 15:33

@Brambles7 I know what you mean, last time I waited because I just didn't want to know if it wasn't positive! That's a good plan things to look forward to either way. Fingers crossed for a bfp, good luck!

WorriedButterfly · 11/04/2019 16:28

@Chester6 I'll be keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow! xxx

2019isouryear · 11/04/2019 16:38

@Chester6 sorry to hear this but like others have said it’s not over yet. Thinking positive thoughts for u.

Good luck with your test tomorrow @Brambles7

AF has arrived for me today which is both exciting and terrifying at the same time. Started to feel very real. Got my appt tomorrow to be shown injections. This is my first cycle so just wondered do u start the medication straight away. I know I will get to know tomorrow just feeling a little nervous now that it is finally here.

Wesstywoo · 11/04/2019 17:05

@Chester6 sorry to hear about the bleeding but I am glad to hear it has stopped and have my fingers crossed for you tomorrow xx

WorriedButterfly · 11/04/2019 17:31

I had some spotting earlier, just one swoosh of red (sorry TMI) no more since. Really worried it seems a strange time to happen as I'm 8dp5dt today. Boobs have gone down and aren't sore, feel like AF is on her way. I did a test this afternoon and it was a very faint line, not sure what to think, would doing it in the morning make it stronger? Sorry if that's a stupid question. @Tamtam86 how are you doing, did you test again?

LeanneMFord · 11/04/2019 17:44

Thanks it's been good to read everyone's posts. They have me pencilled in for the 30th for the transfer but don't have a scan to check my lining till the 25th which I feel like is a really long time. X

Hopingforbabyd · 11/04/2019 18:04

@2019isouryear I had my appointment today for mock embryo transfer, we were taught how to do the injections and given our medication - so so real now!! I’m due to start next week cd2 so I wouldn’t see why they won’t get you started tomorrow but always have a mind of that it’ll be the next cycle. I got my hopes up terribly last month and was so upset when I was told to wait x

@worriedbutterfly @chester6 I have had similar period-like pains and some bleeding today. Doesn’t feel like it’s the progesterone feels like normal period so not feeling very hopeful. Have to wait till Monday to test for sure. It’s weird we’ve all had the same thing today when we had ET the same day too..

AliceAbsolum · 11/04/2019 18:26

Holding onto lots of hope that everyone's bleeding is normal and the BFPs follow regardless. Such unknowns everyone's coping with.... Just think how resilient this is making us.

No sign of AF THANK GOODNESS. I can feel it coming days in advance so we should be fine to start early next week or whenever it decides too. Due Monday. @Hopingforbabyd What CD are you starting stims? I think I'll be day 2.

I had an initial consultation over the phone with a donor egg clinic in Prague. £6k all in. If the first cycle doesn't work they give you a frozen for £500! Weird. The chances of ivf are so small I need a back up plan.

Tamtam86 · 11/04/2019 18:42

@WorriedButterfly oh that's great you got a positive, even if it is faint a line is a line!! I'd definitely test again with your first morning urine, the hcg concentration will be higher so hopefully you'll get a darker line.

I've been testing every day since Monday and kept getting faint positives on the Internet cheapie tests, so bought some first response tests and did one yesterday afternoon (8 days after transfer) and got a good strong positive! I'm going to hold off now until official test day on Monday unless I have anything that makes me panic that it's gone wrong.

When I got my bfp for my daughter it was 11 days after transfer, then that day I got some spotting, I was terrified! You just don't want to see any form of blood! But everything was ok, I carried on having little bits of spotting and then some heavy bleeds (so much so that we were told we lost her) right up until 19 weeks, it was so terrifying, but it did teach me that blood doesn't always mean it's all over.

Good luck to everyone testing over the next few days!! I hope there will be lots of bfps!

Thund4rcat · 11/04/2019 18:59

@Tamtam86 and @worriedbutterfly congratulations on your positive test results! You must be so excited.

I am going mad waiting to test. OTD is tomorrow and I will almost certainly do it at about 2AM or something, whenever I wake up for my night time wee! I k ow you are meant to wait until first wee of the morning but what does that mean if you always wee in the early hours? I might try and go to sleep early tonight so it feels like less waiting...

DaisyMay25 · 11/04/2019 19:00

@WorriedButterfly it probably would be stronger in the morning, when's your official test day?

@AliceAbsolum that's a pretty good deal, although I'm hoping that you don't need it!

@Tamtam86 glad that line is nice and strong on a frer! Hopefully on Monday it'll be even stronger!

@Chester6 it could have been break through bleeding? I'm not sure if that happens with ivf but I'm glad you haven't had anymore! Are you testing in the morning?

I'm still very bloated and uncomfortable, I'm hoping it'll calm down over the next couple of days

mouse1234567 · 11/04/2019 19:00

@Chester6 I’m so sorry to hear this but I really hope for you it’s not your period. Got everything crossed.

Hopingforbabyd · 11/04/2019 19:08

@tamtam86 @worriedbutterfly are you both due to test Monday? Holding onto lots of hope for you girls, sounds very promising! Xx

@aliceabsolum I’m due to start cd2 as well I think we are going to be cycle buddies! Yay! 😁 picked all my meds up today they have me on meriofert and then fyremadel - Hubby was very supportive at the meeting I was worried that I may be alone to do them but he said he’d find a way to be home for the first few as they did look a bit fiddly 🙈 I will probably tell him to leave me alone but I just want him to feel involved as I know he feels pretty helpless. They also did mock embryo transfer today and all I kept thinking is this is the goal...to get the official transfer! Can’t wait 😊 how are you feeling? I’m due on Monday too but the nurse thinks it’ll be 17/18 after stopping norethisterone on sat she gave rough estimate of 3rd May for EC but I know these things can change x

Fingers crossed for everyone that is due to test and that you get the bfp that we all wish for.

@hopingforababyd didn’t think that it might be delayed, but will try to my best to bear that in mind. They know that we cancelled a hol to fit in with this cycle so hopefully all goes ahead 🤞🏻 good luck starting next week and @aliceabsolum.

WorriedButterfly · 11/04/2019 20:08

@Hopingforbabyd & @DaisyMay25 my test day isn't until Tuesday!!!! Although I'm the same ET date as everyone else. I'm going to hold out til sat/sun before doing another. @DaisyMay25 I hope you're resting, I can't imagine how you're feeling I only had 4 follies and 3 eggs & was sore, the bloating was unreal...but did improve over a few days. X

DaisyMay25 · 11/04/2019 20:16

@WorriedButterfly Tuesday, that's so far away! You going to test again before that?
I've been resting all day, moving is just uncomfortable, not painful though just like I need the toilet all the time. I'm hoping mines gone before the weekend 😊

Those that had constipation after EC his long did it last for and did you take anything for it? (Sorry if that's a tmi question)

WorriedButterfly · 11/04/2019 20:18

I had a big bowl of All bran and it did the trick - my mum swears by it 😂

That didn't help with the bloating either! X

Hopingforbabyd · 11/04/2019 20:40

Thanks @2019isouryear 😊 I hope you’re able to start tomorrow! Let us know how you get on xx

@daisymay25 I had to resort to prune juice. Like downing shots except not fun haha! Highly recommend it though as it did help a lot.
