Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

That’s brilliant @chester6 😁 have they given you an idea of ET? X

Thank you. 😊 Just hoping it stays at 5. Yes they said they will call tomorrow with another update but it’s looking like a 5 days so Wednesday. I keep wondering if I should be doing anything else at this stage to prepare myself for ET. What is everyone else doing? x

DaisyMay25 · 30/03/2019 16:14

@Twiglet2353 looks darker to me! Looking forward to seeing the one on Tuesday!

Hopingforbabyd · 30/03/2019 16:51

@chester6 I guess it depends on what you would like to do, my friend bought me a little ivf diary and it’s got days in it to plan what to do before ET and TWW it’s quite sweet but I think so long as you look after your body and mind you can’t go wrong. I think definitely some you time and do things which make you happy is the best recipe 😊 I’m interested though if anyone has done anything in particular in the lead up to it all tho x

I'm just trying to rest (but I'm bored now!) and eat healthy- I went a bit off track yesterday as I haven't eaten a lot whilst stimming because of the nausea- sugar really affected me.

I'm worried we don't get a call tomorrow- do you think that's normal for some clinics on day 2 or a bad sign, they're not gonna call us until Monday, I've taken a bit of a downward turn today worrying. X

Chester6 · 30/03/2019 17:50

I think you mustn’t worry at all...every clinic is different and has a different process. I don’t think it will be anything to do with your embryos or a bad sign so try not to worry. It just means that when you do next hear you’ll be a day closer :-). Try not to to worry as there is no point and we just need lots of positive thoughts x

Hopingforbabyd · 30/03/2019 17:57

I agree with @chester6 your little babes are in the best hands and they will be looking after them for you. Wednesday will be here sooner than you know. All the waiting is understandably hard, I’m glad the days are getting lighter and warmer - I don’t know about you girls but these sunny days make me very happy and gives us chance to have a little spring clean and potter in the garden. Nesting at its best haha. Take care of yourself and will look forward to your updates. Positive thinking x

Last time I was pretty healthy throughout but it didn't work for me, this time, my friend who got a BFP on her first cycle said she got drunk between EC and ET and let off some steam, as it could be the last chance, so I did the same! Got very drunk on Wednesday night!

Wesstywoo · 30/03/2019 21:53

@WorriedButterfly don't worry, the reason they don't call more often is because is best to disturb the embryos as little as possible rather than keep taking them in and out of the incubator thing xx

mouse1234567 · 31/03/2019 08:50

@Thund4rcat -goodfor you. It’s so hard To always be controlled and not know if the outcome is going to even be worth. It can feel joyless and that you are living a half life. We have to find some fun somewhere. The doctors seem to think it’s all up to science anyway! Good luck for your cycle.

Hopingforbabyd · 31/03/2019 09:43

Best of luck for today @thund4rcat 😘 x

Good luck today @Thund4rcat xx

sl85 · 31/03/2019 10:01

@Thund4rcat good luck for today! X

sl85 · 31/03/2019 10:11

Does anyone else find today a bit tough or is it just me?

WorriedButterfly · 31/03/2019 10:42

Good luck for today @Thund4rcat 😊

Thund4rcat · 31/03/2019 12:11

Thanks everyone for the best wishes. Really happy to report they have put one embryo in, grade 4AA! That is better than my first round. Another one was high enough to freeze and they are keeping their eyes on the remaining two to see if they grow enough by tomorrow for freezing.

It was a bit weird happening today on Mother's day, the radio was on in the hospital and it kept going on about it which was a bit annoying.

Twiglet2353 · 31/03/2019 12:20

@Thund4rcat that's brill!! Enjoy every minute of being PUPO xx

Hopingforbabyd · 31/03/2019 12:37

Amazing @thund4rcat I take the radio as a sign ❤️ X

Excellent news @Thund4rcat 🤞🏼

DaisyMay25 · 31/03/2019 17:06

@sl85 today is a hard day. My DH got me a Mother's Day card from the cats bless him, I think he knows it's a hard day for me

@Thund4rcat fantastic news!!

sl85 · 31/03/2019 18:26

@DaisyMay25 ah bless him! My other half has a 9 year old daughter so I'm effectively step-mam, but he got himself in a state about getting me anything as he was really worried that I would get upset - it's a minefield for the blokes isn't it?! He was going to get me flowers but was afraid that every time I looked at them I would get upset and be reminded that I don't have kids 😩

Chester6 · 31/03/2019 18:51

Hi guys, I hope everyone is well. Fingers crossed next Mother’s Day we all have something special to celebrate 😊.

I am 2 days post egg transfer. Is it normal to still feel really bloated? And very very tired from the pessaries? (I think I had tiredness from the pessaries last time). x

DaisyMay25 · 31/03/2019 19:35

@Chester6 I'm pretty sure bloating is completely normal. I hope it doesn't last long for you though. I suffer from IBS so I know how uncomfortable bloating can be 😞 take care of yourself! When's your test day? Are you testing before it?

Twiglet2353 · 31/03/2019 19:52

@Chester6 I haven't really experienced bloating but definitely tiredness. Could the bloating be left over from EC?

Chester6 · 31/03/2019 20:07

Thanks @Daisymag25 and @Twiglet2353. Sorry to be confusing...I meant 2 days after egg retrieval. Embryo transfer isn’t until Wednesday. I think hopefully the bloating is normal so soon after the retrieval, and hopefully the tiredness from the pessaries is normal too :-) x
