IVF March/April

Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

Just had my treatment plan! Feeling overwhelmed ( and I will admit to a little cry when chatting to the nurse 🙈). But we're starting supreceur on 9 April and then baseline scan on 24 April. I've been given predicted dates for further scans , Ec and ET but I suppose they a subject to change depending on the supreceur doing what it's supposed to do in ideal timescales! Stims for approx 12 days after that. My AMH is 14.5 which she said was a good average number so am pleased with that a guess but there is a small risk of OHSS . So many what ifs - I feel like it's a long and uncertain road just to get to collection, but trying keep a positive attitude about it all - can't do any harm right?! Hope you're all well xx

Hi all, I know I’m late to the party but I thought I’d intro. I had 1st cycle IVF in 2016. Had 23 eggs collected and 3 made it to blast. Froze 2, a day 5 and 6. Put one back in, it took and now my little boy is 2 (he arrived at 28 weeks but that’s another story!). So we’ve plucked up the courage and I transfer the day 5 blast on Wednesday next week.

I’m effing terrified!

Good luck with everyone going through the full-on cycle of injections etc. I feel a bit of a cheat with the FET! X

DaisyMay25 · 28/03/2019 12:33

Scan went well today so starting gonal tomorrow!! Back on Wednesday and Friday for scans to see how it's progressing (my clinic do a day six scan as standard for some reason) she said in an ideal world I'll be ready on Friday but it's very doubtful, exciting though!!

@sl85 glad everything went well today for you! Only two weeks to wait, that'll fly by!

@Agog123 welcome! Good luck for next Wednesday!

sl85 · 28/03/2019 12:39

@DaisyMay25 thanks! I know, just want to get here now so we can get the ball rolling!

I'm having a day 6 scan at my clinic too and then they hope to collect on day 8. Good luck for luck for Friday, hopefully she will be right! 🤞🏼x

sl85 · 28/03/2019 12:39

@Agog123 thanks for sharing, always good to hear a positive story! Good luck with your FET 🤞🏼😊

WorriedButterfly · 28/03/2019 16:44

Thank you for the well wishes for tomorrow- I've been dreading EC from the beginning! But thanks for the positive spin @Hopingforbabyd. I was referring to my endometrium when I said endo. I think it is meant to be below 3 to start and above 7 for EC/ET.

@sl85 once you get going you'll be fine, there are so many unknowns for all of us and it doesn't get easier dealing with the low points but once you're actually going you feel like you're doing all you can.

@Agog123 good luck for next Wednesday, exciting times - it is nice to hear a success story! Smile

Hopingforbabyd · 28/03/2019 16:56

@worriedbutterfly you’re welcome 😘 oh that is okay then I was starting to panic as I thought you meant a cyst 🙈 all sounds very good and wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow! Keep us updated x

Welcome @Agog123! I am FET too, are you doing a medicated cycle?

Exciting news @sl85, it's perfectly normal to feel emotional, it's definitely a rollercoaster ride. So nice to have you ladies to talk to!

Glad all went well today @DaisyMay25

xx

Agog123 · 28/03/2019 19:37

@wesstywoo I’ve been doing oestrogen since day 1, start progesterone tomorrow. I don’t know if that’s medicated? I hate those damn pessaries, I’ve got to do two in the morning, two in the evening! It’s loads more than I ever did before!

mouse1234567 · 28/03/2019 20:06

@wesstywoo I’m also on two a day but the packet says three. Day 8 today so only four more to go. Then I have acupuncture booked in for mon and wed in the hope to get the bleed going ASAP! Not long now but still feels slow! Just had the most boring healthy supper and now all I can think about is a sweet treat!

Hope everyone is getting on well-I’m happy it’s friday tomo!

Sorka · 29/03/2019 00:14

I’m glad so many people are doing well and good luck tomorrow @worriedbutterfly

I still have another 1.5 weeks of down regging before my down reg scan. I’m finding such a long period of medicating without any idea of whether or not it’s working quite wearing.

sl85 · 29/03/2019 06:01

@WorriedButterfly all the best today with your EC. Hope it goes well xx

mouse1234567 · 29/03/2019 06:42

@Sorka hopefully your scan will go well-it must be a real test of patience downregging for so long! I find it so fascinating the way we are all on such different protocols-do you know why you are downregging longer? I never understand the difference between short and long protocol!

Wesstywoo · 29/03/2019 07:41

@Agog123 yes that is a medicated cycle! As I understand it some people do natural FET with no drugs but I couldn't trust my body with that because my cycles are usually short! I'm on day 4 of oestrogen at the mo so I haven't started the pessaries yet - I did wonder why I have 4 boxes of the things so I must be doing 4 a day too! They are messy but I was only on 3 a day on my fresh cycle and AF came anyway on OTD despite me having a strong BFP - I think my body just couldn't hold AF off any longer so I will be glad to have a higher dose this time round.

Good luck today @worriedbutterfly!

DaisyMay25 · 29/03/2019 12:48

Thanks everyone, it seems to be all going so quickly! Roll on Wednesday so I can see how many follicles there is! Start my two injections today, not looking forward to it though...

Hope today went well @WorriedButterfly

Those taking pessaries (beware incoming tmi!!) do you do them vaginally? I worry that they'll give me thrush.

@Sorka hopefully the medication is working, I'm sure you're appointment will come round quickly 😊

sl85 · 29/03/2019 13:17

@DaisyMay25 I'm
Not taking pessaries yet but the notes my hospital gave me say that they can be taken vaginally or rectally...but on ET day they must be taking vaginally...not sure if that's any use to you!

Thund4rcat · 29/03/2019 13:26

Update: 4 embryos still doing well so transfer booked for Sunday. I'm feeling positive.

Chester6 · 29/03/2019 13:39

Hi @worriedbutterfly. How did your EC go? I had mine this morning too and now I’m feeling really anxious and down as I only got 6 eggs but was expecting more. Feeling like I failed a bit x

WorriedButterfly · 29/03/2019 14:02

Thanks for the good luck messages!

It went well it, was a lot less painful than I was expecting.

I got 3 eggs from my 4 follies, so worried it's not enough but guess I knew it was going to be low. @Chester6 - don't feel disheartened - I just keeping thinking it only takes one. Did they mention the quality?

I feel mega bloated now! I'm so constipated 😂 (sorry!)

Hope everyone else is getting on ok.

X

Thund4rcat · 29/03/2019 14:05

@chester6 and @worriedbutterfly fingers crossed for your eggs fertilising. Good luck!

Chester6 · 29/03/2019 14:14

Thanks @worried butterfly. Well done for getting through it too. Yes I didn’t find it too bad either although a little sore and woozy now but spending the afternoon in bed with Netflix now which is lovely.
No they said they wouldn’t be able to tell me quality until tomorrow. How about you? Lovely to have a cycle buddy :-). Where abouts are you based? I am London x

WorriedButterfly · 29/03/2019 14:25

@Chester6 I am in Tunbridge Wells.

Deffo an afternoon watching tv in bed! No they didn't tell me anything about the quality. Fingers crossed!

Agog123 · 29/03/2019 14:39

@daisymay25 I’ve been doing them vaginally but the applicator thing is so thin and long (tmi) that I think I’ve irritated my cervix so I’m going to do the other way from now on!

@thund4rcat that’s so exciting, keep going little embies!

@wesstywoo yes, my hormones are crap as it is - so fake ones are much better for me haha. I’m so programmed to bleed every month. I’ve had three early mcs / natural conception (which I’m certain is due to low progesterone) and when I had my son, I bled every month even though I breastfed. And he arrived at 28 weeks, because I had a massive bleed it kicked off my contractions. I think you can guess I’ve got very much a hate relationship with AF.
