BFP after IVF: nervous ladies needed a handhold Part II

Hi everyone,

Think that the last thread for this topic reached its limit, so have started a new one.

Good luck to everyone who has finally got that longed for BFP!

This is a place for everything that comes after the 2WW: celebrating milestones, being (cautiously!) excited, symptom checking, worrying, sharing advice, commiserating bad news, generally keeping each other going, and willing each other along on our way to the 12 week mark.

A bit about me: 39 y/old, 0 DC, IVF ICSI cycle 1, first BFP since TTC, currently 6+0.

Congratulations tigerlily. What size was the embryo?

It's so worrying isn't it 🙈😩I'm so glad Iv got this chat to come on to it really helps I'd seriously be a nervous wreck without having anyone to ask

Glad your scans have shown something even if not quite as reassuring as you were hoping for, fingers crossed your next scans offer a little more reassurance.

I feel worse now. Ours was bigger than that and no hb (3mm). I think I’m out.

@beanhunter @Tigerlily99 I have no idea about sizes. They didn’t tell us the size at the 7 weeks scan. I really hope your next scans can give you more reassurance x

@beanhunter- my understanding is that measurements this early are pretty unreliable as the embryos are so small. There are loads of stories littered throughout the internet (incl FETs and fresh transfers) where no hb seen around 6 weeks but easily seen by 7/8 weeks. I had been reading up on it quite a bit before the scan today and was actually thinking it was far too early to confirm viability at 6 weeks. If I didn’t have the history of ectopic, I’d probably have pushed first scan back another week. I wasn’t expecting a hb, just to see where the sac was. I really don’t think this means you are out and I hope the next scan goes well. X

@beanhunter i agree with others.. 6+2 is early but its hard not to be worried... Just sending you whatever support I can.
@tigerlily99 good to hear that the scan looks good...
my own one is in two weeks in 7 weeks as I have no previous history of anything... I had my beta HCG was repeated and it has gone up at 5 weeks but I still feel like I have resigned myself to the uncertainity.
@canonball99 congrats on making to 7 weeks :) and the countdown continues..
@itonlytakesone and @beherenow32 can we call ourselves the PJs club.. My work lets me work from home which I am starting to take advantage off..
@gingergnome when is your next scan?
Do people keep up with social commitments? I find it hard to take my mind of this and really just feel like being a recluse most of the time.

I wonder why clinics do scans at different times, when doing them earlier can cause uncertainty and worry... ☹️

@tikha would love to live in my pjs. After a week off work, I’m scared to go back to normal. Not sure I’ll cope!

I’m starting to get aches and cramps. Can feel it in my bottom back today. Could it just be things growing?!? Don’t want to worry.

This was epau because I had had bleeding and have had recurrent mc so will be scanned weekly until 13 weeks apparently.

I had a horrible dream about my scan 😞 won’t go into detail- but the anxiety has set in!
How is everyone else?? Who has the next scan? X

My nausea returned today you were right although it's not too bad at the moment, going out later for a walk in the ☔️ that will help but the two days break from it was nice.

@Itonlytakesone it does seem to come and go. I have it today. But it’s worse when I’m moving around. Hope your walk is relaxing!

am constantly anxious as well.. now feel nauseous at work.. how do I people make it through the day without overthinking.. Its really hard not obsess especially knowings our embies are so precious after the trials of IVF..

Bled torrentially overnight. Waiting for epau to open. Passed something massive though so sure it’s over.

Bean keeping my fingers crossed for you and hoping it's not the outcome it appears to be. Puts me stressing about the fact I didn't need to get up for a wee last night into perspective! If good will and wishes made everything ok we'd all sail through

It’s still there somehow with a heartbeat. No guarantees though.
Measures 6+4 vs the +6 I should be.
Small SCH but they aren’t sure why I bled so much.
