BFP after IVF: nervous ladies needed a handhold Part II

Hi everyone,

Think that the last thread for this topic reached its limit, so have started a new one.

Good luck to everyone who has finally got that longed for BFP!

This is a place for everything that comes after the 2WW: celebrating milestones, being (cautiously!) excited, symptom checking, worrying, sharing advice, commiserating bad news, generally keeping each other going, and willing each other along on our way to the 12 week mark.

A bit about me: 39 y/old, 0 DC, IVF ICSI cycle 1, first BFP since TTC, currently 6+0.

Look forward to meeting lots of people with new BFPs and sharing your journey!

@cannonball8726 good luck today! Hope baby behaves!

cannonball8726 · 27/11/2018 22:48

Omg congrats, @HJ82! Any ideas when the big day will be? Thank you - the scan was fine :)

@beherenow32 no idea about when we will start on nursery. Maybe after 28 weeks?! Don't think we'll buy anything for bubba until around then either - maybe in January sales!

Has anyone got their MATB1 form?

Beherenow32 · 28/11/2018 01:23

@cannonball8726 28 weeks sounds sensible. Hoping we will be same. I got my Matb1 form at midwife appointment at 22 weeks. It’s been handed in and I’m likely to start my maternity leave in around 10 weeks!!

@HJ82 congrats!!! Lots for you both to look forward too. Baby, wedding, new house 😉😉 xx

Beherenow32 · 28/11/2018 01:25

@cannonball8726 just realised I’m nearly 25 weeks. No way will it get done at 28 weeks 😂😂 maybe January... xx

PinkFootedGoose · 28/11/2018 12:48

Had a 9.5 week today - as we thought might happen the less developed twin didn't have a heartbeat and is a missed miscarriage. However the baby 1 was jumping around and looking perfect.

Feeling reasonably positive about that outcome - sad for the little bean that wasn't but so happy to have one healthy looking pregnancy. And also glad to have some closure as better for this to happen now than further along.

cannonball8726 · 28/11/2018 22:11

@PinkFootedGoose I'm really sorry to hear that :( I'm glad the other bubba is doing well and hope you are feeling okay.

Looks like we have some 12 week scans coming up soon in this group :) when do you have yours @PinkFootedGoose, @crittertamer and @HJ82?

Itonlytakesone · 28/11/2018 22:15

@PinkFootedGoose
Oh no I'm sorry but equally happy for the other little fighter! I had 2 embryos implanted so always wonder about the other one too.

@Beherenow32
We will start in January with buying baby stuff/nursery ect. Wedding in 2 days so massively excited now.

@HJ82
Ahh congratulations it's lovely another upcoming wedding 🎩 👰🏼 !

@cannonball8726
Yes Iv my MAT B1 form got that at 20 weeks and Iv sent it to my employer already but took a photocopy first!

What week are you all working until then? I'm going to try to survive at work until about 3 weeks before the birth is that realistic??😅

HJ82 · 28/11/2018 22:18

@cannonball8726 thank you! Probably 2020! Maybe later lol! Saving for maternity leave is driving me crazy so a wedding on top would completely give me a breakdown. I'm not a loan kind of girl. I like to have the money before I do something 😬 waiting on harmony results but have 2 12 week scams next week nhs and private (as that was included in the harmony package)

@PinkFootedGooseI'm so sorry! 😢 very happy you have your other little one ❤️

@Beherenow32 when I leave London it will be for a house at the beach, at home. So it's ok re London houses right now. I'm sure one day we will have a place with a lot of space and spare rooms.

cannonball8726 · 28/11/2018 22:44

@itonlytakesone so close to the big day! Are you all ready? Very exciting! Not totally decided... thinking 37 weeks and then a week of annual leave.

@HJ82 your 12 week scans are so close! Are you having Harmony at Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley Street? We found them to be brill. And their imaging technology is amazing!

HJ82 · 28/11/2018 22:47

@cannonball8726 yep, scan was Monday all looked perfectly normal so hopefully the test is too. I kept my nhs scan but not tests. Just doing the harmony and of cause FMC do the full 12week scan too.

@Itonlytakesone I'm way behind your girl! Prob 3 years 😂 best of luck with your wedding!! ❤️

cannonball8726 · 29/11/2018 20:50

@HJ82 glad your scan was okay :) I think we will go back to FMC for a reassurance scan at 32 weeks if all okay... btw does your Pilates place do pregnancy Pilates? I've found a pregnancy Pilates class near me but the classes aren't that often - looking for another place! Central/North/East London all good for me. Do you know of anywhere?

HJ82 · 29/11/2018 21:06

@cannonball8726 I go to body control near Tottenham court Rd. I'll be starting their preggers classes in jan. I think they only have one or two a week and it's around lunch time. Not sure if that's convenient? If you work near west end. They are great there and £13 a class if you buy in block of 6 xx I've put on 5kgs! I've been snacking on junk a bit and carbs are hell! Just slapped myself and back on clean eating only! Lol. I'm already slightly chubby in the front so it's getting hard to suck in now and if I relax I look 5-6 months! Which I looked like with endo flare ups before. I'm going to be huge !! 🙈

cannonball8726 · 29/11/2018 21:27

Ah that location would be good for me but lunchtime classes not possible! Thank you though. Will look around. I have been having some upper back pain (think it's because my boobs are bigger) so determined to make things as comfortable as possible with yoga and Pilates!

My shape has changed a lot too. I've gone from being small to now small with obvious bump and boobs!

HJ82 · 29/11/2018 23:25

@cannonball8726 check out their website, I might be wrong re timing! I also go in crouch end and they're amazing. They don't have a pre natal class but the teacher is trained and she just modifies for me, not that she needs to yet. 🙂 crouch end one is called core health and Tottenham CR is body control. Both excellent and affordable. I also found a really nice looking yoga place near Crouch too that I'll try soon

TheArtfulScreamer · 01/12/2018 11:03

@itonlytakes is it your wedding today? If so I hope you have the most fabulous and amazing day.

cannonball8726 · 01/12/2018 11:25

Congrats to our bumpy bride today! Have a wonderful time Flowers

Thanks for the suggestions, @HJ82! Will take a look!

Beherenow32 · 01/12/2018 12:02

@itonlytakesone awww! So lovely. Have the best day xx

Beherenow32 · 03/12/2018 18:36

How is everything??
Our buggy and car seat came today 😮and I’ve put in my date for maternity leave.

Still (quietly) having a little freak out Lol. Might rearrange the 4d scan for this or next week.

Is everyone else still worrying as time goes on? 🙈 xx

Beherenow32 · 03/12/2018 21:09

So she is kicking me tonight. Worrying less. But still can’t wait for them scan ☺️ X

cannonball8726 · 03/12/2018 22:15

Ah nice, @beherenow32! Which buggy did you go for? And when are you going on mat leave? Anxiety better after 20 week scan. We haven't told our wider families yet - only our parents and siblings. Will keep it quiet til 24 wks (2.5 weeks away) - I'm completely crazy I know!

Dia12 · 04/12/2018 08:43

Hello ladies, I’m tentatively joining this as I’ve just received a natural BFP....completely unexpected as this is my first cycle after our 2nd failed ICSI (both chemical pregnancies). The plan was to take a break for a few months and try again next year.

I thought I was hallucinating when I saw the clear positive and just couldn’t believe it for a while. Cautiously excited but still shell shocked and somewhat terrified at the prospect of doing this without all the extra checks, scans and meds from the clinic! I feel like I should be using those awful progesterone pesseries (I still have a pack lying around) but I know I should be treating this as you would when you’re naturally pregnant. Just worried something will go wrong again.

Wanted to seek some advice but didn’t know which thread my situation would relate to! In the last month I had started the Zita west conception supplements, Dhea 25mg x3, ubiquinol and have been on a Keto Diet and going to the gym. I take it I need to stop all of this?

HJ82 · 04/12/2018 09:05

@Dia12 many congratulations! This happened to me too. Now sitting here waiting for 12 week scan. I'd stop all herbs/supps. Just take a multi with folate. I take cytoplan brand. It's all wholefood. Not cheap. But not rubbish ingredients. Or rainbow one but you need to order that from the states. Wild nutrition have an awesome one too but it's quite expensive. I personally Wouldn't get supps at boots. So exciting. Just relax and be happy ❤️ were you in our June group?

@Beherenow32 Yeah, what buggy? My neighbour is loaning me her yoyo newborn bits so I just have to get the frame! 🙏 she's amazing. Also loaning me an amazing body carrier that's worth £100+ so I'm feeling a bit spoilt 🙂

@cannonball8726 we still haven't told anyone. I have our work Xmas party this week. Won't have harmony result till Friday so I'm not ready to tell my boss yet. I think I'll just order a red wine and walk around with it all night. Pretending to take sips 🤪

Beherenow32 · 04/12/2018 10:08

@Dia12 congrats! Wonderful news. I remember your name from past thread.

@cannonball8726 @HJ82 got the mamas and papas ocarro. I’m totally in love with it. Got a bundle with everything for half price 🤗

@HJ82 that’s handy that your friend can lend you the buggy that you wanted! So exciting.

@cannonball8726 nothing wrong with waiting that long. Although I don’t know how you’ve done it 😅all my family knew after our 7 week scan. But they also knew about the ivf

Xx

HJ82 · 04/12/2018 10:11

@cannonball8726 how can you wait, won't they be able to tell? I'm already showing! I'll be huge by 20 weeks! lol I mean i had a fat roll there before but now it just sticks out all firm.

Aww just been reading back and saw all the wedding 🎩 👰🏼 wishes thank you all so much! We had the best day. Quite pleased with myself for lasting all day and tackling the stilettos 👠 at just over 6 months pregnant 🤰🏼. I'm all married now so really happy 🥰.

@Dia12
Congratulations and I'd be nervous too, don't worry we will look after you. I'd say you're ok to come off supplements, sounds like it's meant to be you've been really lucky to have caught naturally enjoy!

@cannonball8726
I completely understand keeping it to yourself for a long time it's such precious news. Enjoy not drinking that red wine. Iv been eating way too much wedding cake it's delicious I'm getting bigger now though my belly seems massive haha 😂
