BFP after IVF: nervous ladies needed a handhold Part II

Hi everyone,

Think that the last thread for this topic reached its limit, so have started a new one.

Good luck to everyone who has finally got that longed for BFP!

This is a place for everything that comes after the 2WW: celebrating milestones, being (cautiously!) excited, symptom checking, worrying, sharing advice, commiserating bad news, generally keeping each other going, and willing each other along on our way to the 12 week mark.

A bit about me: 39 y/old, 0 DC, IVF ICSI cycle 1, first BFP since TTC, currently 6+0.

Look forward to meeting lots of people with new BFPs and sharing your journey!

@Beherenow32 my boss swears by the yoyo and tbh I'd that one too. Just can't find a bargain! They don't depreciate much second hand and I'm not keen on spending more then £300. I'll find one though! I'm a bargain hunter lol. They're just so good because you can take them on plane and they fold so small. And after baby it becomes stroller (push chair?) I'm pretty keen on wearing my baby a lot if I can or OH will be keen on wearing baby. We will see what's comfortable I guess. 🙂

Beherenow32 · 11/11/2018 19:20

@HJ82 so weird. I was literally just looking at the yo-yo!! It’s just over £300 on the mothercare website.
I’m liking the silvercross pioneer, or uppababy. Both quite expensive but baby can sleep overnight in the uppababy. Need to get out and look again! 😅 xx

Itonlytakesone · 11/11/2018 21:05

@HJ82 @Beherenow32
Oh thanks, just catching up. I'm no where near ready to look at any prams. Iv written down the names of three you mentioned in my little notebook for when i start looking - thanks 👍🏻will you let me know what you ended up deciding on and price please? 😊

cannonball8726 · 11/11/2018 21:32

@snowfee you're so close to your 12 week scan! That's great. The cramps are normal, don't worry.

@HJ82, @beherenow32, @itonlytakesone We will probably look for baby things in the January sales. I like the sound of the Babyzen YoYo as well... it sounds pretty light which is important as I will be travelling alone with the bubba on tube/ buses etc.

20 week scan in a week... So scared.

Hope you're all doing well. I started pregnancy yoga this weekend, I enjoyed it and will keep going! Starting to get a bit of back discomfort as I currently weigh the most I ever have - not even half way yet - God knows what it will be like when I'm really huge!

HJ82 · 11/11/2018 23:42

@Beherenow32 yeah but once you add the new born bits and this and that it's well over £500 no? They're all hefty! You could buy a car for the price of some prams! Insane.

@Itonlytakesone
I'm not buying or fully looking just yet either but this one has been mentioned to me by others on several occasions. 🙂 I see it everywhere now I'm pregnant

@cannonball8726 oooh I want to do that when I'm bigger! How was it? 🧘‍♀️

Beherenow32 · 12/11/2018 09:19

@cannonball8726 exciting that your scan is coming up! Even though I know they’re nerve wracking.
I would love to do pregnancy yoga but can’t seem to find any classes close by me. I’m starting to get all the aches and pains too.

@HJ82 @Itonlytakesone I’m not at the buying a buggy stage yet either. Unless I see something amazing in sale. But I do seem to like the most expensive ones 🙈

I am getting braver now with buying things. Have bought a few clothes.... 4d scan is in 5 weeks. Too long away!

Xx

Beherenow32 · 13/11/2018 19:40

Has anyone had that round liganment pain? Think I’m getting it right now 😵 belly is bigger today xx

Itonlytakesone · 13/11/2018 21:58

@Beherenow32
Yes me! I had pains a bit today i put that down to growing / ligament pains.

I had a wedding dress fitting today felt massive but then i tried my dress on and you can hardly tell I'm pregnant in it (it's 2 sizes bigger than i normally am) so I'm less stressed now about eating everything in sight 😂👰🏼 it's getting tailored this week.

Beherenow32 · 14/11/2018 17:54

Heard baby’s heartbeat today. Got taken earlier as phoned in saying I hadn’t felt as much movement- but all fine!
Midwife said to start keeping track of movement around 24-26 weeks and start to learn the pattern. Was lovely hearing heartbeat. Still don’t believe it tbh 😂

@itonlytakesone lovely news that wedding dress is looking good! So exciting for you ❤️

Itonlytakesone · 14/11/2018 21:07

@Beherenow32
That's so good that you've heard/seen the heartbeat again it's just so worrying glad you've been checked over. Thanks for putting that on here about how many weeks to monitor from because i was wondering/worrying about that and I'm sure others will be too.

Iv been feeling more movements like little thumps! It's so cute! Also hoping me stressing about the wedding won't affect her too much!👰🏼

cannonball8726 · 14/11/2018 23:20

@HJ82 and @beherenow32 Pregnancy yoga was good - sure it will help with some niggles and the breathing techniques will probably be helpful. I'd like to continue. I'm also trying to find a good prenatal Pilates class - I'm in London if anyone has any suggestions?

@itonlytakesone - awesome news on the wedding dress being sufficiently roomy enough to allow extra eating!

@beherenow32 glad you got some reassurance and everything is okay xxx

I've felt really down today - probably hormonal - but I'm feeling pretty anxious about 20 week scan on Monday. Hopefully tomorrow will be better...

Beherenow32 · 15/11/2018 09:41

@cannonball8726 after my 20 week scan, my anxiety levels dropped loads. Not sure why. I suppose it’s a big milestone. I hope that it will help reassure you too. I still get bouts of nerves/ worrying- but it’s not as often and it’s mainly about when baby is here! If we will be ready!

Maybe I should get out walking more... work is so tiring for me. Only about 3 months left until maternity leave though! 😵

Hope you’re feeling better today xx

snowfee · 17/11/2018 10:19

Feeling nervous today, got my "12" week scan this afternoon (I'm currently 11+3). Got all fingers and toes crossed that everything is ok.

Beherenow32 · 17/11/2018 10:51

@snowfee is this your first scan? I had mine about that time too. It’s always nerve wracking before. Good luck, and hopefully you can relax a bit after xxx

snowfee · 17/11/2018 11:05

@Beherenow32 this will be my 2nd scan. Had one at the ivf clinic at 7 weeks where we saw little jellybean and heartbeat. We've been very lucky and got pregnant with our first embryo transfer but over the last couple of years our luck hasn't been great so just feel like we're waiting for the bad news to strike.

Beherenow32 · 17/11/2018 12:43

@snowfee yeah sorry! Didn’t take that one into account. I know. I am like that too. Didn’t believe it until the 20 week scan xx

Beherenow32 · 17/11/2018 17:14

@snowfee hope everything went ok today! Xx

Itonlytakesone · 17/11/2018 19:13

@snowfee
I was the same...took me until 20 weeks to feel slightly more relaxed about the whole thing which is a shame because i should have just relaxed and enjoyed it. Hope your scan went ok!

@Beherenow32
Feeling lots of little frequent thumps from her now which is really sweet and really reassuring. It actually only started about 5 days ago proper strong. Maybe my placenta has shifted? 🦶🏻👶🏻

Beherenow32 · 17/11/2018 19:21

@Itonlytakesone lovely news! She will be bigger now too 😁 have you tired lying on your back to feel them? That’s when they feel like big thumps to me! Glad you’re doing well xx

snowfee · 18/11/2018 07:31

Scan went well, baby is developing as expected. Hardest part was when the sonographer asked me to go for half a pee!
Got a couple of nice pictures and will be announcing to my parents next weekend.

Beherenow32 · 18/11/2018 10:01

@snowfee that’s great. And will be a relief to be able to talk about this with family now!
😂 I was the same for my transfer. Had to go for a pee, came back, then had to pee again 😐 bladder was still too full. Lol
Xx

HJ82 · 20/11/2018 10:16

@cannonball8726 is your scan today? Best of luck!! ❤️

HJ82 · 20/11/2018 12:10

Hi everyone
Great to see you're all having super positive stuff going on! @Itonlytakesone that's amazing ❤️

Any of you not really have symptoms? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm 10 weeks today (harmony/scan next week) still only have a bit of bloating, boob situation. Very mild nausea when it rarely comes. I've had days then I've felt very tired but not all the time, mostly I have a lot of energy. I'm happy I'm not sick! Just didn't expect it to be like this. I do worry it's not normal.

Beherenow32 · 20/11/2018 14:25

@HJ82 honestly, I felt really rough first trimester... not being sick, but close and so so tired, emotional. But I think I remember it started to get better around 10 weeks. Speaking to people, everyone is so different!! So, yeah, it will be normal :)
I don’t really feel pregnant now.. apart from the little jiggles going on in my belly. lol. Only 3 weeks until I’m in the third trimester. Just want baby to keep growing and kicking away!

That’s good that you have harmony test soon. These milestones are good to keep us going! Xx

CritterTamer · 20/11/2018 14:40

@HJ82 - like Beherenow said - I think everyone and every pregnancy is very different! I’ve been suffering so badly I’d kill to have your symptoms lol. My nausea is constant and usually so strong that I can’t think about anything other than curling up in bed - but when I try to curl up in bed I have horrific indigestion/abdominal pain so can literally only lie perfectly still flat on my back. Vomiting most days and when it starts I can’t stop for ages and usually end up peeing myself 😢 on top of that can’t even vacuum a couple of rooms in my house without almost fainting and having to lie down exhausted. Oh, and the acne is horrendous!

I feel like such a baby and really am trying to woman up and get on with it, but honestly the only time in my life I’ve ever felt this bad is on the two occasions I’ve had full blown flu. Trying to pretend to be ok at work just makes it all worse too I think. I know i sound like a terrible moaner, and obviously I’m over the moon that our ivf worked and I’m finally pregnant, but in all honesty I never expected to feel THIS awful lol. I guess it might be because I’m carrying twins.

Anyway, moan over! Congrants to all who’ve had lovely scans recently! xxx
