BFP after IVF: nervous ladies needed a handhold Part II

Hi everyone,

Think that the last thread for this topic reached its limit, so have started a new one.

Good luck to everyone who has finally got that longed for BFP!

This is a place for everything that comes after the 2WW: celebrating milestones, being (cautiously!) excited, symptom checking, worrying, sharing advice, commiserating bad news, generally keeping each other going, and willing each other along on our way to the 12 week mark.

A bit about me: 39 y/old, 0 DC, IVF ICSI cycle 1, first BFP since TTC, currently 6+0.

Look forward to meeting lots of people with new BFPs and sharing your journey!

Oh @CatRen27 I'm sorry to hear you've had that result. Keeping fingers crossed that over the weekend your levels increase.

Runner31 · 05/10/2018 14:44

Well I had my ultrasound today and there was a pregnancy sac but no yolk or embryo so I've been referred to the early miscarriage unit. I have to have another scan by them in a week or so to confirm it's definitely a miscarriage. I keep looking for a tiny flicker of hope but I don't think there is one. Even though it's ivf I wonder if my dates are off. The clinic put me at 7 weeks but it's only 4 weeks since my 5dt. I don't even know if that makes a difference. Could I have had a late implantation? Of everything we go through with ivf I really find all the hoping and praying the hardest.

beanhunter · 05/10/2018 16:23

Hello all. Back in hospital for more fluids. Had my scan and measuring exactly on dates at 12+2 so finally past the date of latest mc. Now to wait for results from screening bloods.

Beherenow32 · 06/10/2018 16:58

@CatRen27 @Runner31 wishing you all the best ❤️ What a stressful time for you both.

@beanhunter glad baby doing well. Hope you’re better soon too tho! Nice to see you over on the 12 week thread.

Hope everyone else is ok! I had 16 week midwife app, but it’s was uneventful. Scan is less than 2 weeks away. Which I can’t wait for! People have been buying us presents still, but I’m going to keep them at my parents for now! Xx

Itonlytakesone · 06/10/2018 21:12

@Beherenow32

You said a while ago you felt like you were back in the first trimester...I know how you feel Iv been awful today felt so vile. I had both whooping cough and flu vaccines yesterday one in both arms, floored me.

So nice of people to buy you presents! Iv had no cards or presents oh well! My 16 week midwife check was yesterday too and it was uneventful too. Not long until my 20 week scan.

@Runner31 @CatRen27 I'm so sorry it's such a stressful thing to go through ivf i understand completely nothing is ever guaranteed it's heartbreaking 😢

GemmeFatale · 06/10/2018 21:27

Hi all. Can I cautiously join? Good bloods last week (854) so now waiting on the six week scan

Beherenow32 · 06/10/2018 22:14

@Itonlytakesone yeah! Along with all the stretching etc (I don’t mind that bit really tho.) oh. I’m getting mine in a couple of weeks! Are the jags bad?

I am struggling so much to eat fruit and veg. Today I had one banana. My stomach is just so full and bloated all the time. I’m going to try a lot harder tomorrow...

@GemmeFatale welcome and congrats. 😊

Xx

Tigerlily99 · 07/10/2018 02:56

Hello! Can I join you over on team pink? Had our panorama results and so pleased that all is low risk and having a little girl 💗
Stopped all the medications last week. Finally over the 12 week mark for last few days although having a rather late 12 week scan as we are currently on holiday. Can I ask where the over 12 week thread is? X

Beherenow32 · 07/10/2018 08:07

@Tigerlily99 amazing news!! I’ve tagged you in the other thread. It’s on the pregnancy board xx

Itonlytakesone · 07/10/2018 11:24

@Tigerlily99 ah congratulations another girl 🎀such lovely news yey!

@Beherenow32
I'm struggling to eat at all it's hard to get fruit & veg down me.

The whooping cough made me feel a bit poorly yesterday (the day after) and today a bit of a dodgy stomach so I'd try to book that when you've not got planned next day just in case. I did get flu jab same day which was maybe not my best idea!🙈

Beherenow32 · 07/10/2018 11:42

@Itonlytakesone yeah, I get full so quick.
I’m having them both at the same time too... and will have work the next day (although just working the mornings- I’ll hope for the best). Exciting that next scan is soon for us both 😊 xx

TheArtfulScreamer · 07/10/2018 21:30

Welcome Gem congratulations xx.
Runner and Cat fingers crossed things work out for you both xx
I've also had my 16 week appt and the midwife checked the heartbeat which was pitter pattering away so that was nice and I've been away with friends this weekend which was also good but MIL brought on tears and near panic attack today as she chose to message me about my DH cousins child's birth which wasn't exactly text book, not the best story to share with her very anxious and terrified DIL. I wouldn't mind but I've told her about my anxiety levels, she's a lovely women but really doesn't think.

TheArtfulScreamer · 07/10/2018 21:34

Sorry Bean and Tiger missed you off, tiger congratulations on your little girl we certainly seem to be a very female led thread with all these predicted princesses and Bean shame you're back in hospital but good news on passing your 12 week point fingers crossed this little one finally is your rainbow baby x

Beherenow32 · 12/10/2018 19:55

Has anyone else been having crazy emotional episodes? Like full on tears and can’t stop!
Had it quite a few times this week 🙈
Scan coming up this week.
How is everyone else?? Xx

Itonlytakesone · 12/10/2018 21:22

@Beherenow32

No Iv not been emotional. I feel more uncomfortable in the stomach it weighs a bit already and feel much happier sat resting on the couch! I'm in bed just after 9pm every night. Feels bloated / solid and can feel everything stretching it's such a weird feeling. Baby must be growing ok! My scan isn't until November though, you must be looking forward to yours Smile

Beherenow32 · 13/10/2018 09:15

@Itonlytakesone yeah, completely the same as you too. All the stretching is now in my womb area. I don’t think it looks all that big, but I can feel it!! Which is weird but so lovely.
Are you feeling ok now? My emotions are so mad just now. But I know it’s tiredness and hormones.
Very excited for next scan (and of course nerves are creeping in now).
I think we are going to look at buggies this weekend. Most people might wait until after the 20 week scan... and we might end up doing that too! Have you thought about this yet? Xx

Beherenow32 · 13/10/2018 09:18

Oh and has anyone felt movement yet? I was feeling loads before! Bubbles and little jabs. But nothing the last few days. Just telling myself it’s too early anyway.. x

Itonlytakesone · 13/10/2018 11:29

@Beherenow32
I just keep telling myself if i feel anything it's my digestive system Iv no idea I'm not sure Iv felt a thing, don't think i have. As for buggies- no Iv not even thought about looking for one yet definitely next year...but then Iv a wedding coming up so this takes priority! Wink

cannonball8726 · 13/10/2018 11:33

Hey ladies, how are you? Congrats to @bean and @Tigerlily99.

I'm 14+2 and really struggling with headaches :( have any of you had bad headaches during pregnancy?

Beherenow32 · 13/10/2018 12:21

@cannonball8726 yes, I had bad headaches. They have eased off a lot now. I got my blood pressure checked as it can be low. But think it was just hormones with me.

@Itonlytakesone wedding planning does take up a lot of time!! Exciting XX

Itonlytakesone · 13/10/2018 18:34

@cannonball8726

Headaches yes! Iv been getting them and I take paracetamol everywhere with me, it soon clears it up but they are quite frequent i wake up with one most mornings so it's a cracker / water / paracetamol routine before getting up! 🤕

Crazyeyes3 · 13/10/2018 21:47

Hi all. I’ve been looking for a thread like this.
I’m 5+3 after my first round of ICSI. I’m still in shock after finding out a week ago.

I’ve been feeling nauseous all the time, having cramps and today my boobs are so sore. Taking this all as good signs.

My clinic don’t do blood tests and got to wait just over 2 weeks for a scan which I am already terrified about. I think this is actually worse than the tww as I want to be excited but petrified that there will be nothing there.

This really is such a tough experience to go through.

Beherenow32 · 14/10/2018 08:21

@Crazyeyes3 congrats. We have all felt that way- so understand what you are going through. I was in tears leading up to my scan... and every scan I’ve had since! Currently 18 weeks and always analysing symptoms 😅 try relax as much as you can (I need to do the same lol) xx

GemmeFatale · 14/10/2018 13:17

I’m around five weeks and have had some bright red bleeding this week. Nothing the clinic can do until the six week scan.

Absolutely terrified I’ve lost our baby. Anyone around for a hand hold?

TheArtfulScreamer · 14/10/2018 16:25

Gem a few of the ladies on here and the first thread had bleeds in fact I think bean was one of them and she's just passed her bench mark for the longest she's held a pregnancy and is now about 13/14 weeks. I can't promise everything will be ok but I can say that others who have had bleeds have gone on to have successful pregnancies let's hope you're one of them Flowers
