Had all the tests and finally got the go-ahead today (a prescription and letter in the post!) So bit of a surprise. Will be starting on CD2 in about 4 days time hopefully.

@gemlou0302

The nurses at epu said they would refer me once they have scanned me on Tuesday. I've had spotting/bleeding for almost 3 weeks but it's not heavier bleeding.
I went for a scan at 6.5 weeks and there was a heartbeat, when I returned last week the pregnancy had developed but no hb and cervix was closed. They also said the bleeding wasn't coming from the pregnancy. So atm I don't know if this bleeding is because I'm miscarrying or its still not started. Frustrating as nurses said even though they knownit won't be a good outcome they have to allow a week to see if pregnancy progresses so I'll know on Thursday and then they will refer me.
I really wanted to see a private consultant this week but the nurse at epu advised me to hold on until the next scan. She was the same nurse who assessed me during my last mc so i took her advice as she's been very supportive. I'm just tired of ttc and not sure if I want to go through it all again but want a baby too! I'm 36 so feel like time is running out :(

@gemlou0302
I mean it's *now heavier bleeding

Hey ladies! I'm going to join your club. Just started the second round of clomid. Stopped taking the pill end of Aug and haven't had a period for 3 months. Went to see a gyn and after a blood test and ultrasound was diagnosed with PCOS.
First cycle - the doc prescribed 50mg of clomid. I've been charting my temps using Ovusense and it confirmed I ovulated CD20, however the progesterone test 7 days later showed very low progesterone (8.5 nmol/l) after which I was put on 100mg clomid, currently on second day of taking it.
In the first cycle on 50mg my period came only 7 days after the supposed "ovulation" (temp spike) which makes me question the accuracy of OvuSense (although their website says it's 99.9% accurate). Anyone had a similar experience with a period coming so soon after a temp spike?

Hi I'm new to this forum I'm just about to start using clomid just waiting for a bleed from using northedine as I'm not ovulating. I have 2 children already with a previous partner which I didn't struggle to conceive at all, now me and my new partner want a child as he doesn't have any been trying for 18 months. Had loads of tests with no answers other than I'm not ovulating.any advise on what to expect on clomid is welcome xx

Hummingbirdsarang · 15/01/2019 17:10

I think it is different for different people. For me the first dose caused me a ton of side effects the worst being the mood swings and then when my period came the worst pains I'd had. This was also due to the fact I overstimukated and ended up with 4 large follicles. However on the 2nd cye I've had hardly any side effects and had 1 follicle. So it differs per cycle too

Willowjasmine · 15/01/2019 17:35

Hi everyone! I'm currently on CD1 so I'm starting my first round of Clomid tomorrow. Just been reading through the thread and am a bit worried as a few of you have mentioned having scans and being told there are too many follicles to try that month, but I'm only having CD21 bloods to confirm ovulation? Trying not to get my hopes up and dreading the side effects.

Clarence58 · 15/01/2019 18:14

I’m only have day 21 bloods done too @willowjasmine. It falls on this Saturday for me. I think they said to go on the Friday if it fell on a Saturday but I need to check. This is my first month on clomid

I don’t really know whether I had any side effects. I didn’t while I was taking them. But around when I should have ovulated (day 15) I had a bit of a dramatic reaction to a pregnancy announcement. I burst out crying in their face. Now it could have been the clomid but it could have also been because I’d drank a few too many margaritas and I don’t usually drink much at all Grin. Whichever it was, it was very out of character and embarrassing Confused

I had a strong second line on a cheaply OPK strip on day 14. I have had them in the last but tended to be around day 17. However my bloods on the month I had them done showed I hadn’t ovulated so I don’t know how much to trust the OPKs

Willowjasmine · 15/01/2019 18:34

@Clarence58 thanks so much for your response! Ok well that makes me feel a bit better, fingers crossed it works for you. Are you on the 50mg? I think I'm going to try and avoid the opks otherwise I'll read too much into it.. Did you feel ovulation or have any other signs?

Your response to the pregnancy announcement sounds just like mine except without the excuse of any drugs! God help me! 😂

Clarence58 · 15/01/2019 19:06

Yeah they’ve started me on 50mg. If my progesterone is under 30 then they’ll up it to 100mg and then 150mg. I’m pretty sure if they said if it wasn’t over 30 on 150mg then they’d just stop it and wouldn’t persevere any longer. I’m hoping it won’t get to that

Hmm nothing out of the ordinary other than the OPK having a dark kind earlier in my cycle than previous ones. I had egg white cervical mucus but then again, I usually do in the middle of my cycle anyway

I have had a slight pinching feeling which comes and goes on my right hand side where i think my ovary is. Iv had it since about day 14 and I’m on day 17 now and it’s still coming and going. To be honest I think I’m desperately trying to tune into any feeling that I have but I’m hoping it’s something positive

Iv been tracking my temperature for the past 7 or 8 months now, but Iv struggled this month in fertile week because I had two long haul flights which disrupted all my timings so I’m not really paying attention to this months trend because Iv got quite a few gaps in it where I didn’t record it. I’m interested to see how different it looks in future months on clomid

Willowjasmine · 15/01/2019 20:17

Good that you have a plan of action. When I asked my consultant what will happen if I don't ovulate, his response was "you will" so confidently it made me feel like it was a certainty until i researched it myself. All he has said is try for 6 months and then we will see.

If nothing else, I'm excited to hopefully to have 28 days cycle so more "chances" in a way as currently average on almost 40 days. Again - consultant said this is a certainty but I'm taking everything with a pinch of salt.

confused107 · 16/01/2019 09:06

How is everyone getting on? AF was late this month (a few days of false hope!) and I'm now on day 4 of my 4th month of clomid at 50mg

No side effects apart from mood. I only lost 1lb at slimming world (anyone else struggling to loose weight on this drug?) and then my acupuncturist burnt a hole in my favourite skirt. Que an hour of crying last night...

Things can only get better huh!!

Hummingbirdsarang · 16/01/2019 17:55

Cycle 2 two week wait :/ trying not to get hopes up...

Twiglet2353 · 16/01/2019 18:35

Clarence58 · 16/01/2019 18:50

I had the same thing as a few of you as I took an ovulation test may be 3 times a day for every day for a week leading up to and after ovulation just to be sure. I had two strong lines and thought great Chlomid working in the first month it was worth the hellish side effects. Had a day 17 blood test and feeling positive then yesterday a letter from my consultant stating my bloods show I'm not ovulating so here is a prescription for 100mg for this cycle. I was SO screemingly emotional on just 50mg what on earth will I be like on double the dosage?! I accgually cried due to seeing a phesant in a field, "because it was just so pretty" - husband reaches over and gently patts my hand...Thank goodness for an understanding husband but in all seriousness I was over the moon with the OPK lines as they are the first positive test I've done and it turns out it was wrong so no idea what is happening. Can only grit my teeth and try not to get fired for crying on already highly emotional teenage art students this month because you know one of them painted a duck and I like ducks... tears. Or one of them asked me how I am...tears...what am I going to do? I pride myself on my professionalism but no it looks like I'm taking a trip back to weepy town and at 100mg a day I'm on the express! X

Row0221 · 18/01/2019 17:48

Good luck twig- may God bring you the desire of your heart - come back and let us know how you get on. X

Clarence58 · 21/01/2019 08:59

Just rang up for my day 21 bloods and my progesterone was 60 woohoo. It was only 8 when they last tested it so the 50mg clomid is doing it’s stuff

They said just stay on that dose and there’ll be no more monitoring for the next 5 cycles now because this dose is working fine for me. So fingers crossed it results in a pregnancy

Willowjasmine · 21/01/2019 09:46

@Clarence58 brilliant news! And great that you don't have to increase your dose. Fingers crossed you get your BFP soon. I had my final tablet of cycle 1 last night, main side effects I had were hot flushes and been feeling really fatigued. Hopefully it's worked for me x

SunnyL88 · 21/01/2019 17:07

Can I just ask... started my first round on 29th December- 2nd Jan. They say you ovulate 7-10 days after. When should you poas? Such a dim question I know. X

KT2828 · 22/01/2019 20:01

Hi sunnyL88. I think that is the average yes! I would cover a wider window though as I have ovulated around day 19 each cycle (just started cycle 5) so that's the norm for me. Xx

Debbie2901 · 22/01/2019 20:54

So Im on my first cycle of clomid I’m on day 3 of taking the tablets, is it normal to have no symptoms or does this mean they aren’t working? I take them at night so maybe I sleep through the hot sweats

MinAngel · 22/01/2019 21:04

@Debbie2901

Hello, when I took them I had no side effects at all. So try not to worry :)
The clomid worked for me as I fell pregnant after my first cycle of taking them but unfortunately miscarried. Xx

gemlou0302 · 22/01/2019 21:17

@Debbie2901
I had no side effects however just had one cycle so far Smile
Good luck
