@twiglet2353 I have read many stories where neither 50mg worked or 100mg and people both ovulated and got pregnant on 150mg!

CD 27 for me I took a first response test this morning and BFN :( I have been given northisterone to start my period so I'm thinking now shall I start that tomorrow or shall I wait for my period to arrive naturally as I have had some cramping the last couple of days.. The reason why I got northesterone was because my cycles are from anywhere between 32-90 days.. What do you guys think I should do?

Also I'm going to be taking 150mg this month to make sure I definitely ovulate.. I responses both to 50 and 100mg so hopefully should respond to 150 Grin

Tbh feel deflated that this Cycle didn't work but I'm hopeful for the next cycle

LisaCookie · 03/01/2019 10:24

@Twiglet2353 try the 150! I would definitely try the 150 I don't know anybody personally but I've read stories about people it has worked for just like
@Iqra786 said . Don't lose hope. Positivity is the key! And if I have a month off then so be it . . More haste , less speed . Chin up. It's gonna happen for everyone .
Spreading positive vibes and baby dust

Happy New Year everyone. Sorry late posting NY's celebrations I've been down in Bristol celebrating my Best Friend's little girl turning 1. The little girl she never really wanted and got the first month of trying go figure... why do all my friends and family do this so easily? My bridesmaid conceived on MY wedding night (first month of trying...now has 2 kids and planning more!) sister has 2 kids and planning more, best friend in Bristol has her 1 year old and now "We thinking about it but didn't have any trouble the first time so not in a hurry..." I try so hard to be a good auntie to my 4 nieces and 3 nephews but some days just get you down and people just don't get it. Compleate strangers saw fit to ask me and my husband at this kids 1st birthday party why we didnt have children. Because I'm on these fab tablets I had to take myself off to our guest room and cry what felt like every few minuites just to stop myself yelling at them...Come on Chlomid- You can do this...! Smile by the way if your on emotional roller coaster tablets and struggling to conceive- word of warning don't let anyone talk you into watching Disney's Dumbo... LOL I think I can best describe myself as a snotty waling purple puddle by the end- friends did't know what to do with me...everyone very uncomfortable...me sat there head burried in husband groaning "The stork forgot me, everyone gets a baby but me...just call me Mrs Jumbo..." and a merry New Year was had by all. Grin

@Row0221 oh I did just have a little giggle to myself at your story

@LisaCookie @Iqra786 will take what you've said on board and do a bit of research x

Hey, I’m wondering if anyone can help me.
Never used a forum so here it goes.
Me and my hubby have been TTC for 3 1/2 years.
We have a little girl who is 6 who was never planned however is our little miracle as 2 weeks before we conceived I was told I would find it hard as I have PCOS.
So finally after losing a lot of weight I have been given a perscription for 4 months of Clomid although I was told it would be 6 months and the dosage would increase every 2 months up to 6 months.
Basically I was given the perscription and then told if it doesn’t work go back to my GP? I can’t help but feel fobbed off as I have read that a lot of people have blood tests, scans etc... however the consultant said that if it doesn’t work after 3 months then it won’t however I have spoken to a private clinic and they said that’s not true.
Does anyone have any advice or experience to share as I am due on in the next couple of days. Thanks in advance 😊

Hi I’m starting clomid 50mg tomorrow day 2! Very nervous and excited would love it to work but now odds are against me. Would be amazing though xx

Clarence58 · 04/01/2019 21:35

Today is day 5 of taking 50mg clomid. I’ll be taking my last one before I go to bed. That’s the time the majority of people on here seem to take it.

I don’t think Iv had any side effects really. I woke up too hot and sweaty one night but I think that was because I left the heating on and was wearing fleece pyjamas haha

Hoping1 · 04/01/2019 21:59

Bad day yesterday cried all day we were at hospital for him to get second test was talking to nurse and just felt like i left with no information of what is happing next no appointment just waiting game with me not being on tablets any more and his second test it was like nobody cared so came home and cried all day xx

Hummingbirdsarang · 05/01/2019 09:54

@hoping1 sorry to hear that although I am not suprised. When I come out of appointments I end up feeling like no one's actually consulting with me. Due to being a bit assertive I got one of the nurses to speak to me as they were going to send me off with no prescription for a second cycle because they assumed I had already been given it.. When I told her how bad emotionally I felt on the tablets she was like is that a side effect? I don't know much about clomid. I was like wtf... It feels like it's all just trial and error and hope for the best rather than really looking at things. Frustrating. Oh and they originally lost one of my blood tests and my husbands sample. I love the NHS but the disorganisation makes an already sensitive stressful situation a lot worse.

Hoping1 · 05/01/2019 21:45

@hummingbirdsarang that is totally it just felt like they leave you in limbo and let youe mind take over instead of explaining things right one peraon said to us that my partner test he need to impove because his swimmers are not strong enough. Then another one said there were abnormalities so what does that mean . How long have you been trying for xxx

Somarch · 05/01/2019 23:32

I’ve had the same in regards to lack of help/communication from the consultant & nurses 😢 So unfair as this is such a hard thing for people to go through, you would of thought they would offer more support? I’ve had to google most things about clomid & this whole ttc, but some of the stuff that comes up scares the life out of me 😩 thank god for the clomid forum!!

gemlou0302 · 05/01/2019 23:51

Well first day taking the clomid so fingers crossed and positive thoughts.
I’ve got most info from google too and I left messages for the consultant however no response

Hummingbirdsarang · 06/01/2019 09:28

@hoping1 just over a year. I always knew I'd have problems as I didn't have normal periods so I did suspect pcos. I told my gp this right away and he said well you're not overweight so probably not and to try on my own for 6 months. I wish I had been more assertive as I feel those 6 months were a waste of time and after going back I finally got my investigations which confirmed pcos (due to too many eggs which I haven't heard before). On cycle 2 clomid now. Tbh the side effects the 2nd cycle have no been as bad as cycle 1 and I'm hoping that it's a good sign that I've not overstimulated again.. But who knows. Fingers crossed, I'd just like an actual chance of trying this cycle and not have it cancelled! I think the lack of communication is dangerous as clomid particularly if you're overstimulated can be very harmful.

gemlou0302 · 06/01/2019 09:48

I see a lot of you on here saying if too many eggs are there you have to cancel it that month is that for a high risk of multiple pregnancies? If it is what about the people who don’t get monitored, due you just have to wait and see? Thanks in advance

Hummingbirdsarang · 06/01/2019 10:34

In the uk on nhs I think you have to be monitored? If we have more than 2 follicles the cycle is cancelled as there is a risk of 3+ babies. Ideally they want you to have one follicle I. E one baby but they accept twins. This is due to the higher risk multiple babies carry for both mother and babies.

Hummingbirdsarang · 06/01/2019 10:35

Although and I am just guessing that if someone has a low ovarian count they might take the risk? As I have too many eggs they will not risk it.

Hoping1 · 06/01/2019 10:45

@hummingbirdsarang it horrible when they say them words it not work this month sorry you guttred because it wasted time. They cant say that this month as been took off just hoping my body works how it should on it own was ok on tablets hot flushes but that was about it . We been trying about year and half. Lets hope this new year bring happiness for us all xxx

Clarence58 · 06/01/2019 14:24

At my NHS hospital they don’t monitor you to see how many follicles you have. The consultant said in an ideal world they would, they just don’t have the resources to scan everyone. So having multiples is just a risk to take. Although it’s not loads higher than the general population. She said it was 8/100 rather than 1/100 in the general population

I have my day 21 bloods done to check my progesterone levels each month though

gemlou0302 · 06/01/2019 16:07

I am not getting anything, no scans, bloods or follow ups. Literally was handed the perscription and been discharged. Because I have never been through anything like this before and it’s beeb a journey to get the perscription I just happened so quick but looking back I should have asked loads of things.

Hummingbirdsarang · 06/01/2019 17:50

I'm suprised to hear that they aren't monitoring. I was told a risk on clomid is hyper stimulation syndrome which can be dangerous and assumed I was also being monitored for that.

Laurenita · 07/01/2019 08:10

Weird development today. Am I being paranoid or... so I’m 7dpo, I have had a cold the past few days but I’m not running a fever. I didn’t sleep most of last night but the 2 hours I did sleep I ended up waking up and being ravenous! Which is weird because I never eat breakfast ever... also, I just feel hot and nauseous. I’m sat next to an open window when it’s zero degrees and snowing feeling like being sick. I can’t possibly test at 7dpo though, I feel like I’m getting my hopes up again. Coupled with that we only got to BD 4 days before I ovulated because it happened earlier than expected and it’s too painful on Clomid to try when ovulating. Does anyone have an opinion? Am I crazy? I feel crazy 🤦‍♀️

gemlou0302 · 07/01/2019 09:45

I am doing my own head in with reading information etc... like I have said I have had no support or monitoring after given the perscription and I have read that if your period stops while on clomid it could be effecting your lining? Is this true has anyone experienced this? What can happen? Thanks

Laurenita · 07/01/2019 10:16

@gemlou0302. There doesn’t seem to be any set standard, all of us are being treated differently. I was only monitored on the first month, I had 3 follicles and my gynaecologist wasn’t in the least bit worried about multiples. Others on here have the opposite and are told to refrain from trying if they have more than 1 folloicle, some are monitored, some not, some partial. Postcode lottery I guess. I was under the impression if you ovulate then you menstruate? I could be wrong.

gemlou0302 · 07/01/2019 10:20

@Laurenita thanks for replying
I was started taking clomid on Saturday which was day 2 and then it’s as if I have stopped my period and other forums/info has suggested it could mean that the lining is to thin. I think I’m just frustrated as LM for the consultant and no one has got back to me and my GP is lovely however can’t help.

Laurenita · 07/01/2019 10:47

@gemlou0302. If it makes you feel any better, since taking Clomid my periods have only lasted 2 days as opposed to the usual 4-5 days and when measured my lining was perfect. I wouldn’t worry too much.
